christmas2NDTIMEmistletoenwine · 10/12/2006 10:01

Hi Lulu.
I've turned into a human popsicle! (cold not sad!)

I've been out since 6.30am and it's brass monkeys here!

Just got a coffee to thaw me out.

Would't it be lovely to have some more babies today?

Get pushing girls.xx

lulumama · 10/12/2006 10:07

where are you 2ndtime? not too bad here today...but i might light the fire later, just for cosiness !

Dingdongdebbsyandbibbyonhigh · 10/12/2006 11:20

Is there anyone there please? im in that much pain i can hardly type this ,started with 5 min contractions at 1am this morning, also had sickness and diahoe had 2 baths, cocodomol, nothing shifted these pains they were crippling me,phoned hospital they said i could come in if i wanted to but tey wouldnt give me anything else until labour was established and it sounded to her that i was still in early labour. The pain though now is excruiciating doubles me over i have had no sleep and they are not every 5 mins now they are getting longer, but is it right to be in this much pain?

Dingdongdebbsyandbibbyonhigh · 10/12/2006 11:22

oh and when the pain comes it makes me shake from head to foot it really is that bad.

LetitShnowLetitShnowLetitShnow · 10/12/2006 11:30

Oh can't help with the questions- pg with my first atm- but I can sympathise. Lulu is about, just seen her on another thread and she is all knowing...

Lots of sympathy (hoping that you're nearly there too).

Baconbaps · 10/12/2006 11:31

I'm sure one of the regs will be along in a minute Debbs but thought I would post a response while you're waiting. I'm a lurker on these threads and am pg with my third (due on 14th).

I'd say GET TO HOSPITAL! Sounds like you're in proper labour but at least you'll know for sure once you're there. Good luck,((hug))

MerryMellowmas · 10/12/2006 11:34

Yes debbsy if you feel the pain is getting worse I would get to the hospital. It may not be established labour yet but no harm in getting checked over.

Its bloody terrible with 1st time mums leaving them frightened.

MerryMellowmas · 10/12/2006 11:35

Take care, you will be fine xx

LetitShnowLetitShnowLetitShnow · 10/12/2006 11:35

Debbsy how you doing? Shaking is definitely a sign of actual labour. Are you going to the hospital?

Do you want me to start a thread for you calling for some better input?

lulumama · 10/12/2006 11:35

babe you are in labour...go ...you need to be examined...if you are shaking and in so much pain, you need some relief...are you using TENS.....got in the bath at all??

once you are 3cm you can have gas & air .......or even some pethidine.......

if you feel you need some help, go ...

really importnat.....try to relax (yeah, right!!!) between each contracxtion.....tensing up is going to make it worse......remember to breathe........and when the contraction peaks....breathe it away......get into a rythm if you can,,, you will find you own....rocking and swaying can really help too.....

it does really hurt..that is ok.....have you tried vocalising the pain at all.....?

also, each contraction that is done, is one you don;t need to do again...and brings baby closer.......

think of it , not as pain, 'but an interesting sensation that requires all of my attention'..from the Ina May book...! good way to look at it....

do what oyu need to do to get through it.......

LetitShnowLetitShnowLetitShnow · 10/12/2006 11:36

Better input than mine I mean... not implying anybody else is as clueless as me.

LetitShnowLetitShnowLetitShnow · 10/12/2006 11:37

Oh thank God lulu's here...
