NativityJane · 02/12/2006 11:41

MMMM Much needed thanks Lulu

Do you think I dare go into town again? I feel like doing something with DS, but when DH is at work our only choice is town really, don't know if I can face it (or afford it!!!) three days in a row!

NativityJane · 02/12/2006 11:43

I'll also lose the bet if he doesn't come today, but absolutely nothing happening this morning... if it is going to be today it will be tonight while I'm trying to concentrate on X Factor and Casualty, the little bugger will make me miss them both I expect!!! LOL

lulumama · 02/12/2006 12:56

hey everybody. glad I can make you laugh lulu, I think there is someone in the December thread named LouLou(something). I've decided you should change your name to "luluthedancingdoula" I would definitely hire someone that sang and danced. Let's face it the worst part of labor is the waiting. If I had someone there whose sole purpose was to entertain me, I would love it.

Saturn74 · 02/12/2006 13:23

NJ - maybe your baby has seen your Christmassy MN name and now feels compelled to hang on until the 25th?

zippitippitoes · 02/12/2006 13:26

congratulations to calsworld

I was up when she went into labour glad all went well if not as planned

NativityJane · 02/12/2006 13:55

No they wouldn't let me go till the 25th, I will be 42 weeks on Wed 13th Dec, so even if I can squeeze a couple more days out of them, I wouldn't want to wait till the 25th!

I have just remembered though that the consultant wanted to see me again if I reached term, is term 40 or 42 weeks?

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 02/12/2006 13:59

More towards 40. Although I think 38 is considered to be full term

spinach · 02/12/2006 13:59

Hi NJ... i havent been around much on here but have been reading your various posts/threads.... poor you having weeks of contractions... and I can't belive you havent had the baby yet! hope you're okay, just thought I'd say hello. Our new lo is doing great, 4 weeks old today and just perfect. xxx

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 02/12/2006 14:01

But NJ that's good at least you know that there is a cut off point. And there is still a while before that happens. My fear for you is that you will be in labor, not be sure, and giving birth in the shower or something.

NativityJane · 02/12/2006 14:02

It just says in my notes 'see at term'??

Spinach! 4 weeks old already? Time flies when you're having fun?!!! I bet you can barely remember being pregnant now! Yes we are still awaiting this ones arrival, only have another possible week and a half left now before they will induce me so the end is at least in sight!

spinach · 02/12/2006 14:04

oh i can remember being pregnant! it was awful! but really, so worth it now... can't belive i moaned so much and ended up with someone so beautiful.... i will keep popping in here to see if/when/how your baby arrives... lots of love xxx

NativityJane · 02/12/2006 14:09

Yes I have found myself wondering if when it does kick off, will I actually believe something is happening after all this time, especially because my first labour wasn't long, and from being 6cm to him being born was only an hour and 15 minutes! I can't say I wouldn't be a little pleased to have an induction, at least like last time there was no is this it? We just turned up had a baby and went home.

TC Spinach xxx

lulumama · 02/12/2006 14:20

ROFL at MKG

'hire luluthedancingdoula - she sings, she dances, she makes your labour fun!! she isnt a lentil weaving hippy chick, with flowers in her hair, being supportive ! she is an entertainer!!

well,, all i can say is, you've never heard me sing! or see me dance!

FWIW..i agree with MKG- NJ will give birth on the way into town or something as she won;t believe she is actually in labour !!!

OP posts:
lulumama · 02/12/2006 14:20

term is 40 weeks as far as the medics are concerned.......

OP posts:
NativityJane · 02/12/2006 14:28

I have got to go into labour before that joke book arrives, couldn't imagine anything more annoying than someone reading jokes to you while in labour!! LOL Entertaining with singing and dancing yes, joke books no no no no no no!!

Do you think I hould try and make an appointment with the consultant then? I can't see the point really, the midwives are doing all the obvious checks every week etc. I've no worries (except when it is going to happen!!) Should I just leave it do you think?

lulumama · 02/12/2006 14:29

all he will do is say when he is prepared to induce you!! and maybe sweep you! which the midwives can do.....i;d leave it for now...baby is perfectly happy in there

if you hadn'r had the issues you;d been having, i imagine you;d be happy to sit and wait it out?

OP posts:
lulumama · 02/12/2006 14:30

if you are wanting your home birth..i;d leave your care midwifery led for now!

OP posts:
NativityJane · 02/12/2006 14:34

Yep, like I said I've no worries about the baby still being in there, I think I might conveniantly 'forget' that he wanted to see me again! LOL There was no appointment made so I'm not letting them down or anything.

Now back to the more important things, what is for lunch? And no I don't care that breakfast hasn't long since been cleared away!!

lulumama · 02/12/2006 14:43

pizza & garlic bread here......lazy saturday lunch

doing chicken with roast veg and homemade wedges for supper !

OP posts:
NativityJane · 02/12/2006 14:48

I am normally a big fan of garlic, I even like the smell normally, but since I was about 6 months-ish, the smell and even just sometimes the thought of garlic has had me feeling yuk!

It is our wedding anniversary today, so DH 'has something planned' he says...!

lulumama · 02/12/2006 14:54

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!! HOW MANY YEARS!

OP posts:
NativityJane · 02/12/2006 15:00

6 years, I don't know if it seems like yesterday or 60 years ago!! LOL
