thanks for support ladies xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

satinshoes · 07/12/2006 11:02

dont worry debs. it will happen soon. Try and rest as much as you can. And eat as you'll need a bit of food to give you some more energy.

largevirginbirthandtonic · 07/12/2006 11:02

Poor you Debs, go to bed and sleep. Have a very lazy day and try to recoup some energy lost. You will need it, all the pain is doing something i promise. When it does all go for real it wont be long. Sending you huge hugs and sleep on your left side ))))))hugs((((((((

Here's hoping NJ is ok and her ds. Im sure she must be in the hospital being induced or at least monitored for the swelling and her Bp.

Lots of positive vibes for them all...

MerryPiffmas · 07/12/2006 11:06

debbs, this is like what I had with dd
I had such regular contractions I ended up in labour ward for 6 hrs, they said I was dilating.
Then stopped
She gave me a quick sweep, sent me home
The same thing on and off for 3 days, masses of contractions then stop nothing
Then one morning wham, 3 mins apart - no mistaking these ones, could barely stand or breathe
45 minutes later
dd
hopefully such a strong pre labour means your baby will pop up nice and easy.
Try to get rest, maybe bath hottie and paracetamol
Take care and hope it happens soon xx

fireflyxmasfairylights2 · 07/12/2006 11:22

Good luck debs xxxxxxxxx Feeling for you to be so exhausted

No news from NJ yet?????

FrostyTheSnowMarsLady · 07/12/2006 11:30

LulaDoula.... what's the news? I'm so busy with my latest client that I haven't had a moment to catch up.

Email me then I don't have to trawl through the thread.

Debs what is happening is that your uterus is stretching so that baby can push against the last of your cervix to make it go to 10. Do you have a birthing ball or a beanbag?

If you find that walking etc slows your contractions lie down (left side). Sit forward in chairs (not back) or on the birthing ball. Also swing your hips.

Your baby is coming. Remember, sleep where you can. Ignore the pains where you can. Your contractions need to be lasting a min of 45 secs at a time. Drink regularly and eat. Build up your energy and remember these three things:

It will hurt
It will be hard
You CAN do it!

I hope when I get back to this thread you will all be holding your new babies.

LulaDoula... don't forget me now!

christmas2NDTIMEmistletoenwine · 07/12/2006 11:47

So sorry to hear that all that mooing was in vain Debbsy.

Do as everyone has said and get some shut eye.

It will happen soon enough and with a bit of luck will pop out like a cork!

Sleep tight x

LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 07/12/2006 12:01

Oh Debbsy

We are having a rough time of it aren't we... I really thought that you'd beaten me to it.

There is still hope - at least you're dilating - I'm still firmly closed - although effacement has/is taking place.

The advice that FTSML has given sounds good to me - at least you've got a gym ball... try to get some sleep - I really feel for you - pretty much literally as these on/off pains are beginning to irritate me now.

Good luck ... LA

lulumama · 07/12/2006 12:03

debbsy.....((((((((hug))))))))))))))

a good cry is really a good thing at this stage...get all the pent up emotion out....and do as Mars and LVB&T have said,,,your uterus is going to be so well excercised that this baby is gonna shoot out !!!!

as i said before..each and every contraction is doing something......it is so frustrating and so annoying and exhausting, but will be worth it......

keep positive, you are so strong and so ready, you know you can do this............you will birth this baby and forget this last week of am i / aren;t i!!

NJ- wherever you are.....hope all is well......xxxxx

LoulaDoula........shall i approach discovery health , do you think......loula will doula you, live on air....get ready to show your fanjo to the nation ! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Debsy I'm sorry.

You know if I were you I would make a list of all the extra chores this baby will have to do when he/she is older.

Just remember he/she is torturing you now, but as a mother it is your right to torture him/her for the rest of their life.

lulumama · 07/12/2006 14:00

MKG!!!! and i thought you were such a nice girl !!

no word from debbsy , so hoping she is either in labour or having a good sleep....wish i had a way to contact NJ...

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 07/12/2006 14:08

We're all good here. It's bitter cold, but sunny, so I want to go outside, but when we get out there I run back in. Being pregnant makes me feel so cold all the time.

You think I'm now let me tell you a story.

Yesterday I took ds for his second flu shot, and my mom gave me a ride. She went in with me, and for the first time ds screamed before the shot. He layed down, I held down his leg, and before the needle came out he was so upset. I was so happy because he's smart and is remembering and making connections. So I laughed because I was so proud of him for being smart. My mom told me I was a mean mommy.

lulumama · 07/12/2006 14:10

you are not mean..! i was kidding.......hope your mum was too ! off out in a bit for the school run, then to a birthday tea...so catch up later xxxx

christmas2NDTIMEmistletoenwine · 07/12/2006 14:32

Well I 've just made my first forray into christmas shopping . It wouldn't be so bad if I only had a few to buy for, but I think a conservative estimate would be 35~40 people!!!

Anyway, I rushed in, dropped my shopping in the hall, ran to the computer..................and....absolutely nothing!

No babies anywhere!

Come on girls, one of you put me out of my misery and have a baby!!!!

lulumama · 07/12/2006 14:34

OH NO!!!

You cannot wait until then! Can you??

christmas2NDTIMEmistletoenwine · 07/12/2006 17:07

Thanks girls!! You've lead me to cullinary enlightenment!!

I made a macaroni cheese for tea. Usually the sauce making bit takes forever...melt butter, add flour, slowly, add a drop of milk, stir, add a drop of milk, stir, add a drop..... you get the idea.

So in my haste to get back to M/N and the, "has she/hasn't she," thread, I threw the whole lot in the pan together stirred like mad, and Hey Presto, a lovely lump free sauce!!!

HappyMellowmas · 07/12/2006 17:19

Yummy I had macaroni too. Funnily enough my sauce was okay too. Delicious!! I lurve macaroni cheese, espcially the cripy cheese on top.

Feel bit bloated now though

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 07/12/2006 17:27

Mac and cheese is one of my favorites. It's so easy. And the breadcrumb crispies are the best. MMMM.
