lol at you lot xx
well ive phoned the hospital as contractions are still at every 3 mins they said i could go in but i asked if i could stay at home till i need more pain relief using tens at the minute,as i dont want another 7 hour wasted time up there they said that was fine.So im here still bouncing on ball and walking about.xxx

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 06/12/2006 20:06

I had a very quiet labor. I slept through most of it, listened to music, passed out between pushes, and at the end was cracking jokes (because if it's not fun I won't do it) The last thing my midwife said was, "blow" I said, "Oh no, this babies coming out right now"

christmas2NDTIMEmistletoeandwi · 06/12/2006 20:08

When I was in the throes of pushing DD1 out I yelled at the midwife to turn the telly at the foot of the bed off, because "I don't want the first thing my baby sees to be that old hag"!!!
Lynne Perry (used to be Ivy Tilsley on Corrie) was on GMTV with her new trout pout.

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 06/12/2006 20:08

OHHH Debsy you're braver than I am. By the time I had a lot of pain, like I thoughtlabor was supposed to be like, it was time to push.

lulumama · 06/12/2006 20:10

don't blame you 2ndtime......>!!!!!!
she had a face that could curdle milk!!!

DH was being all lovely. and caring and supportive, what i didn;t realise, was he was eating a packet of custard cream biscuits, whilst stood behind the bed !!

but, he made me touch the top of her head as she was being born and look at her, whihc i am so glad i did....

Oh you sound quite normal Debbsy. No mooing at all!

7swansaswimmingup · 06/12/2006 20:11

has nj had the babe yet? im being too lazy tonight to scroll down

christmas2NDTIMEmistletoeandwi · 06/12/2006 20:12

Custard creams!! I'd have shoved them up his nose!!

christmas2NDTIMEmistletoeandwi · 06/12/2006 20:15

By the way the Korma was lovely. 2 sugars and a glug of milk worked wonders on it.

I normally have a sweetener, but figured the sugar would give me energy to keep up with NJ and Debbsy.

lulumama · 06/12/2006 20:16

glad about the korma!!

i didn't know he was eating htem as i had my eyes firmly shut and only opened them when my waters exploded and ruined my shoes and when it was time to push !!

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 06/12/2006 20:18

Lulu, your dh sounds nice. My labor he just sat in a chair, except when I had to throw up. He helped me then. While pushing he just held my hand.

He was a star afterwards though. He helped me to the bathroom, and he mopped up the blood clots that fell on the floor. I didn't want me to be embarrassed when the nurse came. He was cute.

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 06/12/2006 20:18

He didn't want me to be embarrassed I meant.

lulumama · 06/12/2006 20:20

ooooh this is exciting. have lurked on threads all along - debsie you are braver than i am. my contractions went from 7 mins to three mins apart in an hour and by the time I got to the hospital I was already 9 cm dilated. then ds was back to back so had to have a ventouse which didn't happen till some 7 hours later.

HappyMellowmas · 06/12/2006 20:23

All this is making me think of my labour. Me trying to climb onto the bed and pleading with young midwife to give me morphine.

Her laughing as my knicker shad "Tickled Pink" wrote across the front of them

Me refusing to push unless they gave me something not sure what that was all about they ended up thinking gas & air was too strong so I had NOTHING.

Oh Sorry Luludoula forgot

I felt so empowered afterwards (until the piles kicked in that is)

christmas2NDTIMEmistletoeandwi · 06/12/2006 20:24

Lulu, why were you wearing shoes to give birth??
PMSL at the image.

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 06/12/2006 20:26

I bet she was wearing Manolo Blahniks.

christmas2NDTIMEmistletoeandwi · 06/12/2006 20:28

Hilarious!! Were they special birthing shoes?

lulumama · 06/12/2006 20:29

LOL! they were not on my feet !!!

i had kicked them under the bed ! and when my waters went and flooded the room,. they filled my shoes !!!!!

christmas2NDTIMEmistletoeandwi · 06/12/2006 20:30

With DD1 I wanted to be naked.

No idea why. I wont even go topless normally.

The midwives took it all in their stride and helped me out of their nighty.

Wonder what they would've said if I'd asked to keep me shoes on!

christmas2NDTIMEmistletoeandwi · 06/12/2006 20:31

My nighty! It wasn't theirs, honest.

I'm getting giddy now.

Deep cleansing breaths and all that.!!

lulumama · 06/12/2006 20:31

and DH [practically having his foot on my chest, dragging the entonox out of my mouth , as i pulled the other way and growled at him!!!

was not pushing effectively with it, so midwife said to put it down... i refused...DH pulled and pulled........and eventually, just pulled the pipe off the end, so i was biting on the mouthpiece, which i spat out after a while!

he picked it up and kept it, it is in my dressing table drawer, complete with bite marks, as a reminder of the most empowering day of my life!

Was the midwife wearing goggles lulu? Did your dh need a snorkle and wet suit?
