HappyMellowmas · 06/12/2006 12:53

Hmm yes that would cause lots of bleeding, i would imagine

largevirginbirthandtonic · 06/12/2006 13:05

It would mellow indeed....!

Mine are painful (im doped for a week) and are so heavy i cant leave the house for a few days or it's very worthy. They only last 10 days though... I dont get psycho or anything though so lucky there.

Dingdongdebbsyandbibbyonhigh · 06/12/2006 13:07

pains getting worse really hope this leads to something

lulumama · 06/12/2006 13:07

that sounds horrific........!!

i lurve my mirena........!!!! although when i was deciding to have it i googled marina and got a lot of handy info about yachts !!

did bleed on and off for 3 months, but now i have barely had periods at all for a year!

OP posts:
lulumama · 06/12/2006 13:08

Dingdongdebbsyandbibbyonhigh · 06/12/2006 13:21

getting stronger not timing them yet like period pain all at the bottom of mytummy and in my back and groin

CreenaberrySauce · 06/12/2006 13:22

Hi all,

how's everyone doing? How're those pains, Debbsy? Has anyone heard from NJ today - is she ok? I would trawl through the thread as I usually do but I saw some references to heated debates and thought better of reading on!

CreenaberrySauce · 06/12/2006 13:23

Whoops...sorry, Debbsy - cross-posted. Those pains sound reassuring, like you're making good progress. What do you reckon, lulu?

LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 06/12/2006 13:36

LVBAT - Re: periods - Know exactly what you mean - certainly not looking forward to starting mine up again - I've had very painful - very heavy periods since I was 14 and because of these and a few other things - I was considered unable to have children (ha ha to all those Doctors now). It was hell at school - I usually got sent home or spent most of the day in sick bay. Now I'm (supposedly) adult I use various different methods both natural and chemical to get through the week of pain - although constantly having to use night time pads instead of normal ones is definitely the most annoying aspect.

I'm sort of hoping that after PG things might not be as bad - but I'm getting a feeling that might not be the case.

Debbsy - so here's where you are hiding - SaraLou and I have been chatting away on the final November thread and wondering what has happened to everyone.

Anyway - wondering where DP is - he's supposed to come and collect us so I can get to hospital for consultant and sweep...

See ya later. LA

saralou100 · 06/12/2006 13:40

c'mon debbsy!! go bibby, time to make an appearance now!!

i'm sticking to my theory one of us has to get the ball rolling so we'll all follow suit - your looking the most likely!!

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 06/12/2006 13:57

Hey I'm up. Dh got lost on his way, because the dumbass dropped his directions on the stairs and I had to read them to him. He keeps calling to know where he is. Then ds woke up, then the dog had to go out.
So I'm having . . . coffee.

I have to say that I love my period. It's always been a reminder that I am pregnant and everything works right. Since my mom had a hysterectamy at 36 she always told us to enjoy what our bodies due naturally. My period is 8-10 longs, but only two days are heavy the rest I just need a pantiliner.

lulumama · 06/12/2006 14:01

heated debate was nothing major..just a worry we were talking NJ into a home birth !!! more like crossed wires really ! having a midwife appt today, and hopefully a sweep, thought she would be back by now...........

anyhoo...hi MKG..dumbass..so american !!

Debbsy..pain in the back and groin is positive...all the contractions help, they are never a waste, honestly....each one plays a tiny role in getting the cervix ready , then the big ones comes along and dilate you and then the really big ones get baby out...just takes a while !!

Dingdongdebbsyandbibbyonhigh · 06/12/2006 14:04

lulumama · 06/12/2006 14:06

at this point , just go with the flow.....walk, bounce, rest, eat whatever you feel like......how are you finding the TENS?

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 06/12/2006 14:07

What? do you not say dumbass over there? It's one of my favorite words. And it describes my dh. I say it to him all the time. I really upset, because NJ should have been back by now. She promised me last night.

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 06/12/2006 14:07

Debsy I'm so jealous of you right now. I would love to fastforward to May. Just relax and have a good time.

lulumama · 06/12/2006 14:09

Mateo is the Spanish version, but Matteo is the Italian version. Both are pronounced the same. Since dh is Mexican and I'm not we are giving our children Spanish first names (because they go better with our last name) that can have English nicknames. So when Mateo grows up he can have people call him Mat(t) if he wants. But we call him anything else other than Mateo.

lulumama · 06/12/2006 14:19

good thinking MKG...it is a lovely name, either as Mateo or Mat !

OP posts:
MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 06/12/2006 14:19

Thanks by the way. It's a name that you never hear. Matthew yes, but Mateo never, not even in Mexico. But it fits him. He has a very sweet face, and a good personality.

lulumama · 06/12/2006 14:25

off to do school run....someone had better had a baby by the time i get back...no pressure or anything, and not that i actually care, you understand !!!

Hi Debsy. This is soooo exciting. I love the whole birth bit, pain and all!! It's just the most magical experience.

I have to go to school in a minute too, but will be back after I have got the kids.

I wonder how NJ is? Any news??

Debsy, remember not to whack the tens up too soon as you need to have somewhere to go later. I loved mine, that and hot a bath got me through with my three. And tell your DP to keep his hands off it. My DH kept fiddling and turning it off as I'd just turned it on. He thiught he was helping, bless him. NOT!!

Good luck anyway.xx

Piffle · 06/12/2006 14:39

debbsy stay moving, keep upright - the laws of gravity will see you through.
Given all this intensive pre labour you've had, you're well equppied to have a really good birth honey.
Keep the faith
