Dingdongdebbsyandbibbyonhigh · 03/12/2006 11:08

NativityJane · 03/12/2006 11:41

Morning everyone

I finally got to sleep about 5-ish, now I have given in and accepted that I am very likely to be induced, you'd think my body would just give in and give me a bit of break, no?

We are also off to Tesco, only need a couple of bits though, then we are going for a drive out somewhere, just for something to fill the day up with really.

Will, no doubt, catch you all later xxx

LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 03/12/2006 11:57

Found you again... what day are to be induced again? I've been given the 9th - but I think MW has her calculation wrong - they clearly told me they allow ten days - which in my book adds up to the 7th. Hoping to goodness I don't get there.
DP just getting out of shower so hopefully we'll be getting moving soon.

Good luck LA

NativityJane · 03/12/2006 11:59

I haven't been given a date yet, I expect I will get it all booked up at the next midwife appointment which is Wednesday (I will be 41 weeks by their dates than), they will let me go 14 days over so it is likely to be around the 13th there or there abouts.

NativityJane · 03/12/2006 12:00

Oh and welcome to the thread - and the Dark Side!!! LOL

fireflyxmasfairylights2 · 03/12/2006 12:11

Oh I posted on your other thread, but I think it shut after that...

Still no baby?? My little girl was born on xmas eve 5 yrs ago & my little boy on 27th Dec, 2 yrs ago... so I know exactly how you feel now!!!!

Any pains today? With my little boy, I contracted for 2 whole weeks, then had a nice easy labour, so it's not all bad

NativityJane · 03/12/2006 12:24

fireflyxmasfairylights2, most of us got the closed message at 1000 messages on the old thread, but for some reason the odd one was let through after!

Yes still here, some pains last night but as usual led to nothing!

We have had a change of plan, DH has been called out for work so DS and I are going to go with him and go for a walk around the town that the job is in, if it doesn't lead to anything at least some retail therapy will cheer me up a bit! Now any advice on how I am supposed to climb in and out of his van at 9 and a half months pregnant is very welcome I have trouble enough getting in and out of the car now!! It could be interesting...!

CreenaberrySauce · 03/12/2006 12:29

Hello there, NJ. There's still time for something to happen before induction becomes a reality. I went over by 2 weeks when I was having my DD - I had an appointment at the hospital on Friday afternoon, where I was told that I would have to come back the following morning to be induced. The doctor then gave me an internal examination. I went home all despondent because I really didn't want to be induced. That afternoon, at about 2pm, I had a show, which I attributed to the internal exam. Nothing else happened until 2am - I woke with a start when my waters broke and contractions started. So, I ended up going back to the hospital ealier than expected but did deliver on the Saturday, just under my own steam!

A similar thing happened with my DS. I was just over 39 weeks and absolutely felt that birth was imminent. I was fed up and didn't want to be pregnant any more! I had an appt at the hospital, where a rather brusque doctor told me that there was no way that the baby was going to come out and that he was going to put my EDD back by a week. Again, I left the hospital all despondent and even more fed up than when I arrived there! I got back home and, a couple of hours later, my waters broke. Again, I was back at the hospital earlier than expected and again delivered the next day (also a Saturday)!

So, what I'm trying to say (in short) is that you never know - your body may well decide that it wants to do its own thing despite what the medical professionals have planned for you. There's still plenty of time for it all to kick off before an induction is really on the cards. I'll certainly be keeping my fingers crosse for you!

lulumama · 03/12/2006 12:29

have a fun day natalie....and you too debbsy.......we are having a lazy morning....DH has given the dogs a bath & a hair cut...i made a cooked breakfast , which i think is very good of me....!! and have done a load of laundry and general tidying and folding all the laundry from the last couple of days....how can 4 people get through so many clothes?!?!?!?!? will be ironing tonight

my friend had booked a home birth, went a week over, then had a n appointment for a sweep at 10 days over.....she woke up in labour the day of the sweep!! so it can well happen as creena says .....some babies are slow cookers....so 42 weeks is when they should be born!!

fireflyxmasfairylights2 · 03/12/2006 12:34

My sister took me shopping the xmas eve my dd was born... she drove over a mini roundabour & I went mental, she dropped me home & I was having pains all evening... even now we tease her that her bad driving put me into labour!!!!

So get your Dh to do a bit of dodgy driving???? lol a bit drastic maybe!!

NativityJane · 03/12/2006 12:40

I'm not bothered about the induction at all, I've been through it before, know what to expect etc. the practicalities of it will be a PITA, but we will have to get round them some how, I think it is helping me being quite set on the induction idea TBH, it has taken away the 'is this it?' question every day, I am no longer waking up thinking I will have had him by the end of today, I am just counting down till the 13th. If he comes before then great, but like I have said loads of times now, if over 7 weeks of near constant contrations haven't shifted him, I can't see andother week and a half making much difference...

largevirginbirthandtonic · 03/12/2006 12:40

Hello all, as predicted lulu asda was hell...at least i didnt have all the dc with me. All done now and packed away, the nxt time i have to go shopping dh will be home...

He finishes friday the day of the ball and we drive back here saturday!! Ohmigod will be regular wife again...he has been away since sept 1st, am so excited.

A walk sounds like a good idea NJ, just as long as he is not too far away! It may be the getting in the van that does it...waters breaking like niagra falls!!

NativityJane · 03/12/2006 12:42

Oh and firefly, my DH's new van is on order because his one he has now has done over 120,000miles in about 2 years so is pretty much knackered, we won't be needed mini roundabouts and speed bumps for a very bumpy ride!!

lulumama · 03/12/2006 12:44

what does your DH do LVB&T , to be away for so long?

OP posts:
NativityJane · 03/12/2006 12:44

Where is your DH LG&T?

With any luck the climb in and out will do something, but I won't hold my breath!!

NativityJane · 03/12/2006 12:47

Right I have to go for my shower now, see you all later xxx

largevirginbirthandtonic · 03/12/2006 12:48
