Am I in labour???

I know it has been done 1000 times before, but if nothing else I just want something to do with myself while my body decides what it is going to do.

I felt fine all day, got to about about 5 o'clock-ish, and very suddenly started to feel sick, didn't want to eat dinner but DH made me eat some toast which perked me up a bit, have been having fairly mild but intense contractions (can you have mild and intense at the same time?!!) with a tiny bit of back pain, coming every 8-10 minutes or so. The contractions aren't painful, but just really tight, and the baby has dropped really low.

Anyone who has followed the last 5 weeks with me, this is completely different to every contraction I have had before!

I actually feel really silly posting this, in case it turns out to be nothing, but I am bored and can't concentrate on the telly, so thought it would at least take some time up.

I wish there had been Mumsnet when I was in labour. It's so lovely to have all this support at hand 24/7 when your other half is busy making the ZZZZZZssss.

lulumama · 01/12/2006 08:25

morning my dears....how is everyone? please let there have been at least one baby born in the night!?!?!?!?

any news from debbsy?

NatalieJane · 01/12/2006 08:35

2ndtime, you are so right about the support, I think I'd have gone slightly mad by now, if everyone hadn't have kept me smiling

Lulu, I caught Debbsy on the Nov thread this morning, nothing happening, she has gone back to bed.

I have lost some serious amounts of show this morning, I know it is early and people will be eating so sorry, but seriosuly, I am starting to think it really is a jelly baby in there.

NatalieJane · 01/12/2006 08:35

...I wonder if it has anything to do with being led down for so long over night??

OP posts:
lulumama · 01/12/2006 08:43

could be nat......did it happen as you stood up or went for a wee?

am going to have a bath with Babylulu, then we have some errands to do as MIL took DS to school so i stayed in bed until 7.45, DH looked afer Babylulu! yay!

so nice not having to rush out to do the school run...was bricking it as babylulu born in the summer hols, so i had 5 weeks to get to the point of being able to get out of the house on time with a newborn!

DS hates being late. as do i , so i really didn;t want him to be late becasue of the baby......!

lulumama · 01/12/2006 08:48

it is the 2 week anniverary of this thread nat, shall we have some bucksfizz! reckon we can hit 1000 posts before baby arrives !!

Morning! How's it going, NJ? How are you feeling today?

Like the new name, LG&T! Makes me wish I had chosen a different login name now, as you can't really do much with mine to make it Christmassy!

Debbsyandbibby · 01/12/2006 09:39

OOOOHHHHH am all gooey inside....

kandi · 01/12/2006 10:42

Hi NJ, have you not had that baby yet?

NatalieJane · 01/12/2006 10:56

Lulu, I got out of bed, went for a wee, came down stairs made a cuppa for me and DH sat down then when I stood up it came out then..... sorry LOL You did ask!! I'll have a week to figure out how to get out of the house on time for school with DS and the new baby, must admit it is the only thing I a bit worried about, I remember it taking half a morning to get out with DS as a baby.

I have been into town, just spent £36 on christmas cards (and an anniversary card for DH - it is tomorrow) Then I went and got some wrapping paper, bows, strings, gift tags, and selotape - £27!!!

I am not going back into town this week, it costs wayyyyyy too much money!! LOL And I have had some really tight contractions this morning, but nothing since I got home, maybe the 2 bars of Dairy Milk Caramels I ate have seen them off

...Off to find HM's thread.

NatalieJane, I was thinking of Christmassy names for ShowofHands on the May thread and was thinking, "LetitShnow", but it made me think of you.

Ooooh, I quite like those Lulumama. I might just use one. The only one I could think of was CreenaRoastingOnAnOpenFire, which isn't all that appealing, to be honest!
