Am I in labour???

I know it has been done 1000 times before, but if nothing else I just want something to do with myself while my body decides what it is going to do.

I felt fine all day, got to about about 5 o'clock-ish, and very suddenly started to feel sick, didn't want to eat dinner but DH made me eat some toast which perked me up a bit, have been having fairly mild but intense contractions (can you have mild and intense at the same time?!!) with a tiny bit of back pain, coming every 8-10 minutes or so. The contractions aren't painful, but just really tight, and the baby has dropped really low.

Anyone who has followed the last 5 weeks with me, this is completely different to every contraction I have had before!

I actually feel really silly posting this, in case it turns out to be nothing, but I am bored and can't concentrate on the telly, so thought it would at least take some time up.

The plunger is a ready.

Cod liver oil works a treat at everything. As does a slice of ginger, eaten raw, everyday. But i wouldn't do either of them, unless in desperation . Rest up, eat ice cream at odd hours, the baby is getting bigger day by day and therefore will want bigger feeds and therefore will go longer between feeds and therefore you will get more sleep. Its great news really . Nite honey, I hope its a peaceful one and that when you wake, a shiny bundle is lying slumbering next to you .

MKG · 29/11/2006 21:19

lg&t I'm eating a bowl of Cheerios as we speak.

frumpygrumpy · 29/11/2006 21:21

largegin!!!!

I desperately need an early night and you've just said those words......those words about chinese food

Bloody hell and damnation. I so want to be at your house. Nite all x.

Start making it really uncomfortable for the baby. When I was 9 months with ds I starting poking my belly a lot to make ds realize that he may want to leave.

NatalieJane · 29/11/2006 21:28

LMAO, I don't know what is funnier, talking DH through a sweep step by step, (can you imagine what he would say if I said some woman on t'internet wants to tell you how to get me going?!!! LOL) or MKG's induction vibes, in the shape of a sodding plunger...

NatalieJane · 29/11/2006 21:30

MKG, my belly is that hard and tight all the time now, I can't even prod him enough to get him to move when I realise I haven't felt him for a while! There is honestly no give in it what so ever, even the midwife had trouble today finding his back because it is just a solid lump!

Come on over FG happy to share, im alone as always (dh comes home in 10days....) Plenty for you, could get funny later if NJ's Dh comes home and washes his hands before logging on.... might be worth staying up....!

mrspink27 · 29/11/2006 21:32

Have you tried reflexology, started me off with dd2 within 8 hours?

largeginandtonic · 29/11/2006 21:33

Ready luludoula (badge on at all times, clearly visible so the lady in question doesnt think she is being probed by random glove wearer) ...yuk!

NatalieJane · 29/11/2006 21:33

Just so you are all aware, and no I still don't think anything is happening I just like to moan, but I am getting very uncomfortable tonight, loads of tightenings which are edging into pain, feeling really really heavy everywhere. Might just be the aftermath of this fluey bug thing.

Raincoat bloody good idea though luludoula, it's happened before! Not wearing a raincoat while doing an examination......waters breaking and getting me soaking...

NatalieJane · 29/11/2006 21:39

Hiya Carol, still here, still waiting, Luladoula is going to do a sweep (although I think she is getting my fanjo mixed up with a cave or something... I have only had one baby before y'know!!! )

I'll get DH to have a dig about when football is finished, I am sure he won't mind that much!! LOL

Tips would be great though LG&T if you have any, else he is likely to be sweeping something else...
