I know it has been done 1000 times before, but if nothing else I just want something to do with myself while my body decides what it is going to do.

I felt fine all day, got to about about 5 o'clock-ish, and very suddenly started to feel sick, didn't want to eat dinner but DH made me eat some toast which perked me up a bit, have been having fairly mild but intense contractions (can you have mild and intense at the same time?!!) with a tiny bit of back pain, coming every 8-10 minutes or so. The contractions aren't painful, but just really tight, and the baby has dropped really low.

Anyone who has followed the last 5 weeks with me, this is completely different to every contraction I have had before!

I actually feel really silly posting this, in case it turns out to be nothing, but I am bored and can't concentrate on the telly, so thought it would at least take some time up.

tens is great..just don;t leap in the pool with it on!

NatalieJane · 29/11/2006 17:22

Cal It is all sounding exciting
MKG I hope things have gotten better as the day wears on.
LG&T more trade secrets please I love being in the know!! LOL

I am back to how I was yesterday, lots of funny pre-period type feelings, tight bump that tightens even more every now and then, feel a bit sick, but not like I will be sick, just that achy sickly feeling you get etc. etc.

God, if you don't know it all by now, you never will. DH is slightly convinced the baby is coming today, he has been all week, but it is my EDD today so I think he has just taken it to heart a bit too much! At any rate, he is likely to be dissapointed, I don't think anything is on the move, infact DH will probably be quite pleased - there is football on tonight!!!

Ooooh how exciting cal, let us know what happens....!

I would not look or check if the woman was making the right noises, toes curling, bloody show. I would probably leave her alone, may have a peak if she started saying i can feel something (in case it's poo, and i have to whip it away quick) If after a little while it seems nothing is showing then i would have a quick feel with a finger tip to see if i could feel the head descending with a push. If not then i would do an examination as i wouldnt want her pushing on a rim of cervix (very common)

Ive been away looking at sweetie web sites after someone posted on our due in may thread about one. A very kind lady is sending me some Krispy Kreme donuts tomorrow so i wanted to send her a little thank you. Dont tell her MKG (it's a surprise...

lulumama · 29/11/2006 18:10

thanks for that ! love a bit of physiological info!!

MKG · 29/11/2006 18:25

You secret is safe MKG, let's just hope she not lurking around here. More than one Due in Mayer is popped in.

MKG · 29/11/2006 18:29

Yeah instead of talking to LG&T, I talk to myself. I definitely need to reest.

I can't believe that in just 4 hours time I am going to be officially overdue, after nearly 7 weeks of contractions... how bizarre, and damn right infuriating?!!!

oh........so this is the thread Mars was referring to . Sorry nataliejane for hijacking. HM is a regular on our multiples thread and Mars mentioned you and your impending pay-for-view birth () along with HM. We've not heard from her either, so I'm thinking she's sitting with her feet up and a large box of choccies somewhere....sorry I mean, lying skin to skin in blissful calm. Good luck NJ x.

Pay-per-view? It doesn't actually cost anything, just 6-8 weeks of your life, marriages and families fall apart because you are too busy checking on NJ's funny feelings to care about anything else, everyone has put on 4 stone thanks to Marsy and her cakes, we have all driven our neighbours mad with cheesy party songs at silly o'clock in the morning, and it will all be for nothing because I am going to be sat in a hospital bed with a drip and someone breaking my waters at this rate!

OP posts:
lulumama · 29/11/2006 20:49

you will not be induced....i will get the baby out before i let that happen to you!!!!

you need that sweep...twill tip you over the edge.....do it yourself!!

frumpygrumpy · 29/11/2006 20:50

NJ, no worry my love. That baby got in there and its gotta come out somewhere, somehow . You have a fortnight to go before you need to start thinking about drips. Jeez, you could get to the Seychelles and back before then .

NatalieJane · 29/11/2006 20:54

I tried the DIY I can't even reach the region, let alone anything that feels like noses or lips or anything else....

I have a whole week till my next appointment, she has writen in my notes again about the sweep being booked, but if the last 3 weeks are anything to go by, they will come up with another lame excuse not to do it.

OP posts:
frumpygrumpy · 29/11/2006 20:56

I haven't read your thread but have you tried all the usual stuff, in the same night? Sex, vigourous floor washing, curry and having a small, medicinal sherry?

NatalieJane · 29/11/2006 21:04

We've done the sex, I've done walking, cleaning, RLT, clary sage and lavender oil massages and baths, I haven't done the curry/pineapple but only because I am having a home water birth which DH is going to be clearing away, I don't think he would appreciate it very much if it was a curry or pineapple that set it all off IYKWIM??!!

The first day DS is back at school (hopefully tomorrow, but I have been saying that all week!) I am planning a big trip around town.

Other than that, I think induction is going to be the only thing to shift him!

OP posts:
MKG · 29/11/2006 21:17

I had a great induction and if it comes to that I'll send you my induction vibes.

largeginandtonic · 29/11/2006 21:18

We will be with you there coaxing that baby out before then. Get Dh to do the sweep, i will give him step by step..... just get him to scrub his hands first and cut his nails....LOL.

Am hungry again whats on offer tonight? Quite fancy some lemon chicken and young chow rice, who's going out for it?
