Am I in labour???

I know it has been done 1000 times before, but if nothing else I just want something to do with myself while my body decides what it is going to do.

I felt fine all day, got to about about 5 o'clock-ish, and very suddenly started to feel sick, didn't want to eat dinner but DH made me eat some toast which perked me up a bit, have been having fairly mild but intense contractions (can you have mild and intense at the same time?!!) with a tiny bit of back pain, coming every 8-10 minutes or so. The contractions aren't painful, but just really tight, and the baby has dropped really low.

Anyone who has followed the last 5 weeks with me, this is completely different to every contraction I have had before!

I actually feel really silly posting this, in case it turns out to be nothing, but I am bored and can't concentrate on the telly, so thought it would at least take some time up.

Oh wow kelly, actual nose and lips....that would freak me out...

MKG · 28/11/2006 14:28

I'm not too far away, about 30 mintues from the hospital. I just think that my eyes are on the opposite end of my "fanjo" (I think that is my favorite UK word I've learned on MN) for a reason. I do not need to see anything, I think I would get too freaked out.

LG&T I wrote you back.

NatalieJane · 28/11/2006 14:30

LOL Can you imagine if the baby had been one of the ones born with teeth? LMAO

And actually I have every intention of going into labour, my body might be thinking 'yeah right' but that is a whole different story!!

NJ for all you know your baby will just slide out one of these days and not even tell you. With your record these past weeks I wouldn't be surprised.

NatalieJane · 28/11/2006 14:59

Sorry, I was on the phone.

I wouldn't mind in the slightest if he decided to just slide out, the less hassle the better I say!!

I don't know if it is just because I am feeling better and so I am geting back to being desperate to give birth, or if there is something starting, but feeling slightly sick, loads of tightenings today with back pain, and although I am not sat here thinking this is it, I am getting a feeling that it isn't going to be too much longer. Like I said though, it could just be positive thinking after feeling poorly.

whatever you say NJ

NatalieJane · 28/11/2006 15:08

Hey, come on, a bit of encouragement please, jeez, anyone would think we have been here many times before or something.... I bet I can count on 5 hands how many times I have led you all down the garden path!!

MKG · 28/11/2006 15:11

ra ra ra, you can do it, push him out push him out wayyyyy out.

Is that enough cheerleading? You really need a webcam, because I'm not going to believe this birth till I see it.

MKG · 28/11/2006 15:12

Let's start a new thread. "Natalie Jane thinks she's in labor . . . . again".

NatalieJane · 28/11/2006 15:14

LOL You do realise that if I go into labour today, you will forever be known as the cheerleading birth helper, and you will be needed all over MN! There will be no rest for you, ever....

OP posts:
NatalieJane · 28/11/2006 15:15

No, this one is more than embarressing enough thanks!! LOL Over 500 posts now on a labour thread that has lasted a week and a half... It must be an MN record?

When my mw tried to give me a sweep she couldn't reach
Anyway, I am lurking expectantly and wishing you well...it is going to happen. And I think after all this its your duty to keep us posted the whole time with every little detail. Thankyou.

NatalieJane · 28/11/2006 15:28

Oh, I don't need encouragement to give my personal secrets away!! LOL

Seriously though this is the first time I have had "a feeling" that something is going to happen soon, like I said though, it might just be because I feel like I could actually labour for the first time in ages!! - Who knows?

Just how many people are lurking on here by the way? I keep seeing little snippets of this thread on other threads, so I know there must be a few of you reading it.

Im still here not interested at all especially since you didn't give birth on Saturday like I asked you too!

CheeryGarcia · 28/11/2006 15:30

I've been lurking from the start and hoping for an on-line birth ably assisted by luludoula with lemon drizzle cake and everything....

MKG · 28/11/2006 15:30

Who rocks the house
NJ rocks the house
And when NJ rocks the house
She rocks it all the way out.

NatalieJane · 28/11/2006 15:39

LeDodgy, how did the birthday go? (I did ask on Saturday but since you ignored me, I might not be interested either!! )

LOL Lemon drizzle cake, I think I might have to get my act together and try this recipe, bearing in mind I don't cook, and I can't even remember the last time (If I have ever) baked a cake from scratch, but this one does sound lovely

MKG, are you saying I am fat????????

OP posts:
ledodgychristmasjumper · 28/11/2006 15:54

NJ it went fine thanks we just went round to my dp's mum's and all of his cousins were there. He seemed to enjoy himself and so did I, I Overdid it slightly on the Vodka and diet coke! Unfortunately I woke up on Sunday with the same fluey bug that dd and ds had last week and felt awful and still do today too.

MKG · 28/11/2006 15:57

No, it's a cheer.

Like:

Who rocks the house
The Warriors rock the house
And when the Warriors rock the house
They rock it all the way out.

I think it got lost in the English/American translation.

NatalieJane · 28/11/2006 16:00

You have my sympathies with the fluey bug thing, if it is anything like we all have it is a bloody nightmare, DS hasn't been to school since Friday before last! It really has knocked us all for 6.

Glad Saturday went well though, what would I give to go over board on the vodka, in fact any alcohol right now...!!! LOL

OP posts:
NatalieJane · 28/11/2006 16:01

MKG

Who are the Warriors? Are they fat as well?

OP posts:
MKG · 28/11/2006 16:06

The Warrior was the mascot for my elementary school. No he wasn't fat.
