Am I in labour???

I know it has been done 1000 times before, but if nothing else I just want something to do with myself while my body decides what it is going to do.

I felt fine all day, got to about about 5 o'clock-ish, and very suddenly started to feel sick, didn't want to eat dinner but DH made me eat some toast which perked me up a bit, have been having fairly mild but intense contractions (can you have mild and intense at the same time?!!) with a tiny bit of back pain, coming every 8-10 minutes or so. The contractions aren't painful, but just really tight, and the baby has dropped really low.

Anyone who has followed the last 5 weeks with me, this is completely different to every contraction I have had before!

I actually feel really silly posting this, in case it turns out to be nothing, but I am bored and can't concentrate on the telly, so thought it would at least take some time up.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Toady · 25/11/2006 21:12

No news really DS3 (11 months) is teething and it has really set him back with sleeping and his clingyness and it is hard work at the moment, pooor little darling . Going to his osteopath on Monday so hopefully she will be able to help.

dorisofdevon · 25/11/2006 21:29

lulumama · 25/11/2006 21:30

toady..that sounds horrid..hope the osteo works out

lulumama · 25/11/2006 22:30

NO PARTY

NO NJ

NO BABY

i quit!

NatalieJane · 26/11/2006 00:00

Well I am still reeling from Ben being in the bottom two!! My party hat nearly got put on the fire when I thought Simon was going to send him home, but, he saved him (awwwww You have to love Simon sometimes ) and not only did my party hat stay on, but I also let DH pour me out half a glass of wine

I am quite pleased the baby seems to be staying put for the time being, I don't think I could do labour at the moment, I can't even breathe out of my nose! Though with a new baby and two girls gone into labour on my AN thread tonight, I can see it isn't going to be too long after I am well enough before I start getting very desperate to get him out of there. (And yes he is a he!!)

Ahh sod it, where is the conga line? Or have you all conga'ed yourselves out tonight?

NJ,

I'll probably have my baby before you have yours and I'm only 14 weeks.

I have my plunger ready for you. Send me a ticket, and I'll get the baby out.

NatalieJane · 26/11/2006 01:26

Well, I have konga'ed, superman'ed, time warp'ed, twisted and shouted, agadoo'ed and YMCA'ed myself stupid, and no one was here to share it with me, but that is fine, I don't mind spending Saturday night all lonely, and when I'm ill as well (...and no there are no pads involved before you all start!!)

I am going to take my big box of tissues and the Jelly Baby to bed, and as long as he get's his bloomin' foot out of my ribs, I intend to stay in my bed until very late tomorrow morning and then take a nice long relaxing bath, and let DH amuse DS on his own for a bit

G'night xxx

Ah, well that is bloody brilliant isn't it? I sit here waiting for an hour and a half for someone to talk to, I say I am away to my bed and then you spring up from no where! Humph!!

NatalieJane · 26/11/2006 01:29

And the cheek of it, you only want a free holiday to the UK, I bet you'd forget to pack the plunger!!

OP posts:
MKG · 26/11/2006 01:32

I would not forget. I was just reading your name thread Do you want some names?

MKG · 26/11/2006 01:34

If ours is a boy his name will be Sebastian. No one else likes it, but I think it's sweet.

My ds is Mateo. (Matthew in English) I like it because it means "gift from God" and that is what he is.

I also like the name Timothy

NatalieJane · 26/11/2006 01:34

All name ideas are welcome

I like loads of names, but DH says they are all too old fashioned, but with DS called Thomas, and this one called George (for a first name) it isn't as though we could have a 'modern' name for a middle name.

OP posts:
MKG · 26/11/2006 01:36

If you decide on George you could have his middle name be Orlando, and then his initial would be GOO. It's a little mean, but funny.

NatalieJane · 26/11/2006 01:37

I love Sebastian, but would be very tempted to call him Seb

OP posts:
MKG · 26/11/2006 01:37

Or Robert, that is my ds' middle name. George Robert. That is a very stand up name.

MKG · 26/11/2006 01:38

I would call him Bastian. Honestly one of my favorite movies is the "Never Ending Story" and Sebastian is the main character.

NatalieJane · 26/11/2006 01:39

LOL

My favourite is George Alfred, but DH doesn't like it. Also like Harry, Patrick, Bertie, Samuel, William, I suppose they are quite old fashioned names, but I like them.

OP posts:
MKG · 26/11/2006 01:39

It doesn't matter because I have been having crazy dreams that his one is a girl, and my 12 week ultrasound has early indications of a girl. My girl name is crazy.

MKG · 26/11/2006 01:41

Alfred is not a name we hear too much over here. But it's interesting.

NatalieJane · 26/11/2006 01:41

Our main problem is that our surmane is Oliver, so with a lot of the old fashioned English names it sounds a bit OTT, like a 17th century playwrite, George William Oliver, George Robert Oliver, they sound really... Lord and Lady of the Manor-ish!!

OP posts:
NatalieJane · 26/11/2006 01:43

I had loads of (what I think are) lovely names for a girl, Maia, Isabella, Serena, Elsie... the list went on and on
