Am I in labour???

I know it has been done 1000 times before, but if nothing else I just want something to do with myself while my body decides what it is going to do.

I felt fine all day, got to about about 5 o'clock-ish, and very suddenly started to feel sick, didn't want to eat dinner but DH made me eat some toast which perked me up a bit, have been having fairly mild but intense contractions (can you have mild and intense at the same time?!!) with a tiny bit of back pain, coming every 8-10 minutes or so. The contractions aren't painful, but just really tight, and the baby has dropped really low.

Anyone who has followed the last 5 weeks with me, this is completely different to every contraction I have had before!

I actually feel really silly posting this, in case it turns out to be nothing, but I am bored and can't concentrate on the telly, so thought it would at least take some time up.

me too sugar!! has been awfully quiet..not that i am remotely bothered or interested...

NatalieJane · 24/11/2006 21:41

Nope, sorry, no news, I am feeling all crappy and pretty sorry for myself with this cold, so I had a nice long soak in the bath with some eucalyptus, and then watched Eastenders, and now the shopping has arrived and DH is putting it all away so I have a few minutes to catch up on here.

All the sneezing is setting off loads of tightenings, but no pain with them, quite a bit of pressure in my back but that seems fairly usual now, don't think anything is going to happen tonight.

But, DS has perked up no end, he is still poorly and coughing like mad, but he has turned the corner, so that is at least one thing on its way out!

I am off to grab an ice lolly from DH before he hides them and then I am going to veg in front of the telly for the rest of the evening. Will probably be back on later though.

Oh and BTW, unless it really is a very fast labour, I will be on MN the whole way through!! xxx

NJ Maybe you will sneeze the baby out

lulumama · 24/11/2006 22:43

LOL! off to bed soon..night all and will check back in the morning, if i can be bothered! xx

flutterbee · 24/11/2006 23:15

Wow it has just taken me 35 mins to read the whole thread and I am sorely disappointed that their still is no baby.

Has their been anymore pad sniffing today?

Actually I don't know why I am typing a message, I'm not remotely bothered by it

NatalieJane · 25/11/2006 00:41

I have been sneezing something out, though not the famous Jelly Baby

Welcome to the party flutterbee , I can't believe people are spending that long reading my moans LOL

I have been in bed since about 10.30-ish, can't sleep, got really bad back ache, and the baby has done something to my belly, when he moves his foot (which is right behind my belly button) it feels like there is absolutely nothing between his foot and my skin, I could honestly make out the shape of his foot earlier, DH couldn't believe it! It doesn't hurt, but the first time he did it, I honestly thought he had just stuck his foot through my skin... I know how weird that sounds but that is what it feels like!

Why is it when someone has a cold, everyone says 'cor, it is only a cold, you're not going to die....' blah de blah, but when you actually have a cold, yeah fair enough I don't think I will die, but god you feel like shit!! LOL I have done more moaning this evening about my cold than I have all of the contractions put together!! LOL

I am not normally such a bad patient, I think this is just the tip of the iceburg at the moment, on top of everything else we all go and get the lurgy!!

sorry you are poorly....

NatalieJane · 25/11/2006 11:31

LeDodgy, I hope your little ones birthday goes well

Good news is DS is much better this morning, he still is weak and coughing like mad, but the cold type symptoms have almost gone, along with the high temp Bad news is I am still, obviously, on my death bed LOL DH is going to the chemist for me to ask them what I can take for my throat, I don't normally take any sort of drugs (not even paracetamol) so I think he realises how crap I am feeling now!! And my poor little boy felt like this for nearly a week

Obviously having this baby is the last thing on my mind, and in fact with every contraction/twinge I think oh god no please not yet!!! But it is my due date today (by my dates) and I can't help thinking come on, do it to prove to them all you were due today!!! LOL And I suppose a labour and a new baby would take my mind off of this fluey bug thing!!

Debbsy (who has started the other 'is this it?' thread?) is on my AN thread, she is such a lovely girl, poor thing has had SPD troubles and is now just really at the end of her tether with the pregnancy I think, and to top it all off, she has had these contractions for a few days, each time sure it is starting just for it to stop again (sound familiar?!!!) I will leave her a message if I've time before the shivers get me again!!

I probably won't be on much over the weekend, so have a good one everyone, obviously if the sneezing does do anything, I will let you know xxx

You have been niggling so long now,I have a theory that one sneeze and it's going to fall out.(You'd better check under the poorly blanket just in case)
Thats if it doesn't make a break for it through your belly button first.
Get well soon!

Sugarfree · 25/11/2006 20:24

Ps.Do we know if it's a he or a she?I don't like calling them 'it'.
I think I will call it 'he' if that's ok.(I have a feeling)

lulumama · 25/11/2006 20:25
