Braxton hicks or labour?

Am currently 39 +6 for the last few hours I've noticed a dull period type pain that occasionally kind of spikes then disappears. As far as I know I haven't had any braxton hicks so far and really don't know how to tell if this is actually the beginning or just me wishful thinking.

How are you getting on op?

WhispersOfWickedness · 18/02/2015 07:58

Bless you, you must be exhausted! Really hope baby arrives soon!

Zsazsabinks · 18/02/2015 08:29

Bless you, this is what happened with my first. Can you try to slump around and sleep between contractions? You must be so exhausted. Thinking of you and sending dilate-y pushy vibes. x

Awww congratulations.

I nipped to hospital today and there was a chap holding newborn daughter. He said his wife had been planning 4 kids but after a 40 hour labour she decided to stop at the 2 she already had!

I hope you get a good sleep and daughter is the best behaved baby ever.

Allstoppedup · 18/02/2015 21:50

Many congratulations! After having my first dd last week I followed this intently. What a time of it you had! But you did it! Have you slept yet?!

StillinShockAhhhhhhh · 18/02/2015 23:26

Had about an hours sleep last night after consultant dosed me up with morphine and pretty much running on adrenaline today! Paranoia is kicking in as baby seems to need winding, whinging, scrunched up red face and raising legs but nothing I do seems to help :(

Congratulations :) Enjoy it, and take paracetamol/ibuprofen REGULARLY for a few days, it really helps with all the various pains and aches.

JugglingLife · 19/02/2015 08:24

Well done shock! You're an absolute superstar, enjoy every single second of your little munchkin, I am a tad envious! Wonder how DM is getting on this morning, one amazing journey left unless some newbies want to join us. Thanks for sharing all your journeys you wonderful ladies.

Thread confusion....... Ignore the latter!

bwow · 19/02/2015 09:31

I had the same op. Hit the buzzer while we were in the hospital as dd started choking and went purple. Have rang mau a few times in the night when she vomited yellow and then brown! We've survived a week bumbling through clueless! That adrenaline lasts a while too! I've had a few lows and each one is always followed by a high, usually just by looking at her!
