I'm 7 days overdue now. I do feel ok, other than being a whale! But am going slightly mad waiting. Every little feeling I'm wondering what was that!. Anyone else?! I've had a show and occasional cramps and back pain. Nothing else. I've also had a sweep and am half ready apparently! Cervix not hard but not soft either. I'm really hoping I'm not induced but am trying to be chilled about it. So excited to meet LO the hours are dragging! This is definitely a mindfuck Grin

Well, just had my MW appointment amd was told that baby is back to back and very big Shock. Then, as I stood up to leave there was some water on the chair so am now having to walk around for an hour and return for a speculum examination. Oh the shame of it if it's just a bit of incontinence Blush.

How are you getting on Toby?

TobyLerone · 07/01/2014 13:38

They reckon mine's back to back, too.

I'm doing ok, thanks. Just managed a half-hour nap, but the contractions are getting quite painful now, so it's a bit hard to sleep. I ought to get up and walk around to encourage them, I suppose!

Katja122 · 07/01/2014 14:03

Lotty and Toby that both sounds hopeful! Are you still losing waters? Have you had any incontinence before? My first I was told was massive and he was 7lb3 so don't lose hope!

Toby if you have a ball get on it!! Good luck.

Katja122 · 07/01/2014 14:08

Toby have you had a back to back before? I'm anxious to know how much worse it is! Although two midwives say different positions but I think it's definitely different from my previous well positioned rushers.

TobyLerone · 07/01/2014 14:10

Nope, and the baby hasn't been back to back for the whole pregnancy. In fact, just today, it seems! Eejit child :o

LottyLikesWindows · 07/01/2014 14:25

Good grief, think we're leading parallel lives. This is the first time my baby has presented as back to back too. The waters have gone, amd what I thought was me weeing myself a little since Sunday has in fact been the waters. So am now having to kiss good bye the birthing pool as I wait to be taken up on labour ward and induced.

At least it's all finally happening. Woo! Is this a lucky thread perchance?

TobyLerone · 07/01/2014 14:39

I couldn't go in the pool anyway because my hospital's MLU is closed due to staff issues.

I'll be induced in the morning if these contractions don't sort themselves out and do something before then.

Good luck, Lotty!

anotherbitofcake · 07/01/2014 15:08

Exciting! I'm still nothing doing. Swear I'm never going to give birth.

Nothing happening here but a nice lie down as dh does the school run.

Mostly back to back here too...

FetenFirstTimeMum · 07/01/2014 18:25

40+5 today. It feels like I have been pregnant forever.
Can't bear answering another email/text/phone call/FB message to say LO haven't made it out of me yet.
My husband's solution : book a course and focus on it Confused

Nokkie73 · 07/01/2014 22:34

What is it with these children ?? Mine is also lolling around apparently, going towards back to back, having been nothing like that up until now. I have also been told I am carrying a ginormobaby. Nothing doing for me today, apart from getting fucked off at friends discussing my birth choices and having a good old giggle about them (I only want a water birth if possible, which is not that bloody woo and out there) and having a very disappointing bit of cake from Pret.

Still, I'll try and book that Spanish course I've always wanted Grin. It may take my mind off of wanting to smash my iPhone up to stop people bloody texting. I've said I'll keep you posted.....at ten days overdue, the messages are doing my box in.....

namechanger1979 · 08/01/2014 07:54

Congratulations to everyone where something is happening.

It feels like things are going backwards here.... No even any bh in last 24 hours. I even slept like a log last night... And i know i should be glad of this but i keep hoping it will all start up.

BookTart · 08/01/2014 08:55

Any news Lotty and Toby?

40+2 here, and already have the hump with it. I'm like you namechanger, no BH, sleeping okay, I've had no show, baby isn't even engaged so far as I can tell. All plans for a lovely intervention-free birth in the MLU are fast becoming irrelevant. I'll be happy as long as the baby turns up safely of course, just sooner rather than later please!

Sending dilatey vibes to you all Grin

anotherbitofcake · 08/01/2014 09:17

Nil here. Am trying to not be fed up but it is hard. I wanted a waterbirth too and I know it doesn't matter as long as baby is fine and healthy but I'm anxious about bring induced and even thinking maybe I will leave it longer. I don't know much about induction so need to ask mw/read up about it all. I'm just scared of being clamped down to a bed and it all being completely fast and furious with a drip. Urgh. Need to get back into positive mindset. We will all have new babies soon however they arrive!!

Can't believe am joining thread, I am 40+2 with dc 3 but other two dc arrived bang on 39wks. I am so fed up and know could be longer. Mw said baby not engaged when I am lie down but drops in when I stand up, as is third dc more space for this, hmmmmm. Said no sweep unless drops and stays due to risk cord prolapse if waters break at sweep, said could have sweep in hosp end next week if baby hasn't arrived by then, at least she seem think prob won't need much other encouragement once get going, other labours very quick indeed! Some consolation there then. Have awful coked/cough thing which isn't helping and dodgy urine test results away for testing to see if have uti, so I am not a happy preg lady, the insomnia is dire and the dark circles under my eyes are horrific.
Sorry for mega moan, hope this a lucky thread and good luck to all those getting proper niggles, leaky waters, I want some!!! Pram arrives today, lovely new mountain bug duet and lots accessories..... Hint hint baby, your chariot awaits!

Katja122 · 08/01/2014 17:12

Had my stretch and sweep today which was fine but she said my blood pressure was up. So I went to hospital for monitoring-baby is fine but my blood pressure stayed up (165/100) if anyone knows-that was a highlight!

So I've been sent home and being induced in the morning. At the hospital they said baby was not back to back at all so who knows?!!

Good luck to you all, I guess Toby and Lottie have had their babies by now. Anyone else anything to report?!

FetenFirstTimeMum · 08/01/2014 18:40

MW did a membrane sweep yesterday. Going to my 41 weeks appointment tomorrow with Dr. Not sure what to expect :) hope they'll offer me an induction :))))

FetenFirstTimeMum · 08/01/2014 18:41

Katja, hope all goes well tomorrow :)

LottyLikesWindows · 08/01/2014 20:28

Baby Ivy was born this morning at 8am after a seven hour labour, most of which was helped along with some gas and air until the pushing stage when I had nothing but pain!

She's a chunky monkey, weighing 9lb 3oz and she managed to come out with her hand on the face ala Rodin sculpture, which led to second degree deep tissue tears. Still, none of it matters because she is perfect and we are so in love with her.

Ladies, good luck with your labours. I still can't believe I'm no longer pregnant I sure still look it please don't lose heart because those babies are coming! I was apparently claiming I would like a C Section as the baby's head was crowning and that surely I shouldn't have gone into labour so soon! It WILL come around very soon.

TooTryHard · 08/01/2014 22:07

Congratulations Lotty! Love her name too.

It all sounds very civilised (as far as these things can be ;) ).

FlossyCat · 08/01/2014 22:23

Congratulations Lotty, love the name Ivy x

Katja122 · 08/01/2014 22:58

Go Lotty-well done. Wow she was a good size. Such a lovely name.

And hurray the ball is rolling (so to speak). Perhaps a sort of domino effect?

LottyLikesWindows · 09/01/2014 03:35

Thanks ladies. She is such a dream and we are so in love with her. Katja you never know, you could be next! Fingers crossed for everyone.

TobyLerone · 09/01/2014 08:39

Congratulations, *Lottt

TobyLerone · 09/01/2014 08:55

Fgs. Still in hospital and the signal is awful!

Congratulations, lotty!

In keeping with the 'do everything you do' tradition, I had my baby yesterday morning too :o
Baby girl, name yet to be decided, 6lb 10.5oz, 11.37am.

Labour was, frankly, horrible! Pushing stage, however, was a piece of piss :)
