I did on 2 out of 3 births not that I gave a shit at the time. But I am curious how common it is?

Me. Every time, but mostly with DS1.

I did. I didn't realise until I stood up to change position and saw it there on the labour pad in all it's glory. I assume the midwife cleaned me up because the registrar later spent a long time between my legs doing a kiwi delivery and lots of stitches - would have been extremely unpleasant for him if no one had given me a wipe down!

Update - I had DS2 on Friday and I did poo...

Between contractions I could smell it and said 'ooohhhh, I pooed didn't I?' To be honest I didn't actually care, I was more embarrassed by all the screaming I did!

Me, in the middle of producing DS2. I apologised at the time (it was a bit of a spray) but couldn't have cared less afterwards.

I didn't have any poo left by the time I went into labour. Massive clear out prior and thank God for that! because if that came out in the water... the horror and sheer disgust.

My mum told me much later that she was praying that I didn't poo as "poo floats.. I'd be mortified" yeah, great mum. *you'd" be mortified?

I had my DCs donkeys' years ago and had had enemas when I started labour so no poo. Wonder why they don't still do that? Also a good idea as it meant you had a bit more leeway before the first post birth poo session Grin

Enemas don't stop you farting though. So my first labour was push, fart, pardon, push, fart, pardon…and so on…..

Willemdefoeismine · 08/01/2014 17:21

That's why in the 'olden days' they used to give women enemas when they went into labour....

Did with one but not the other - mortifying though Blush....
