Dh delivered our son (ds2) this morning, the paramedic arrived 30secs after he was born! We were supposed to be having a hospital birth but it all went a bit quicker than expected Grin

What a wonderful story Smile

Congratulations OP. xx

wouldbe - the midwife suggested it to us, she just had to write a letter to accompany the claim saying that a home birth hadn't been planned! the best bit was talking to the person on the phone who wanted to know if we'd kept the duvet, towels etc that had been trashed, hmmm let me think No, they went straight in the dustbin. They still paid up though.

Wow, totally amazing and lovely and wonderful. You are a complete warrior to be blow drying your hair approx one hour before you gave birth! Enjoy your first few days with you gorgeous new baby.

Thanks Katz, I can't remember how much our excess is, I'll have a look into that.

Congratulations Anagram I had an unplanned unassisted homebirth for my first DC and a planned homebirth that was unassisted for my second DC. I just seem to labour too quickly for medical help to arrive Grin DC3 arrived after 4 contractions each with a 10 minute gap between.

I have to admit I was a bit peeved with the focus on DH in the congratulations cards "MrSneaky should retrain as a midwife" "How brave of MrSneaky" "MrSneaky bravely at the action end" etc. Nope MrSneaky was in the hall on the phone to the ambulance.

Next time you may want to consider a planned homebirth and pop yourself in the bath, much less clean up Wink

Congratulations Thanks lovely story.

Leah1989 · 15/05/2013 13:06

Hi there, a big congrats to you both. This is very similar to my birth story in dec 2012 where every thing was nicely planned for a hospital induction at 41 weeks and baby decided otherwise. It is a very shocking experience but also a very special one instead. It is true when they say 'there's no place like home'. All the best x

GiraffesAndButterflies · 15/05/2013 13:12
