S'only me
Any tips of bringing this blinking baby on?
Due on Friday ... am very hot and uncomfortable (humid Auckland summer ... got elephant ankles - nice!)
Am HUUUUUUUUGE (scan last week showed monster baby weighing 9lbs+ already) ... SPD giving me all sorts of bother ... not sleeping due to heat and needing the loo every blinking hour (desperate to pee but just doing a teaspoonful) ...
And the pressure is on because my lovely gorgeous Mum and Dad flew in last week to 'surprise' me (a plan hatched by them and DH 3 months ago) but can only stay until 5th Feb ...
SO .... hot curries (not a fan)? sex (it's been so long I've forgotten what to do)? Pineapple (heard that it only works if you eat 4 fresh ones in one day)? Castor Oil (heard it was a bit violent)? Raspberry leaf tea (apparently tastes disgusting)? WHAT WORKS ... if anything????? Should I bother????
Yours fed uply....

If Ghosty doesn't post soon I am seriously considering getting on a plane to NZ. We could get a group booking, couldn't we?

Hilary · 04/02/2004 19:19

Oh dear, just logged in, are we still waiting?

emmatmg · 04/02/2004 19:21

She posts in the early hours, around 5-6am. I'm up with a wide awake DS3 who wants to play.

ner ner ner ner ner.....I'll read her post before you!

Quite exciting this

SpringChicken · 06/02/2004 11:04

I wish she would hurry up and tell us how everything is going! It's been days since she was last about.

Hope everything is OK.

Quackers · 06/02/2004 11:53

No news is good news! Must be something happening!

motherinferior · 06/02/2004 14:09

Pleeeeeeeeeease.

I logged on specially!

emmatmg · 06/02/2004 14:13

Her mum and dad were only there until yesterday so maybe she's been busy with them on their last few days. OR baby has arrived as he or she wanted to meet Nanny and Grandad and Ghosty hasn't had time to post.

oliveoil · 06/02/2004 14:15

Pah, never mind relatives, what about mumsnetters?

lilibet · 06/02/2004 14:15

I tried everthing for my second - I had a nasty time first time went all the way to fully dilated and wouldn't come out, so had emergency c-section, whole thing took 48 hours! I was just like Ghost dreading it being the same again, wanted it over as soon and as quickly as possible... So i tried pineapple, raspberry leaf tea (the tablet form) curry, acupuncture etc, no luck..

Couldn't face sex, but btw apparently the prostaglandin in semen works better orally (I never told dp that!)

What did work was a sweep, and other mums I know have also had success with sweeps, if they are done well they do seem to work well. Unfortunately ended up with another emergency cs (should have had an elective after all..)

One friend found sausage gumbo (with chilli powder) got her going, but not sure how reliable that is!

Hopefully all has gone well for ghost now and she has a lovely little bundle and all those worries behind her
