I'm booked in for an induction this friday, first baby, and no idea really what to expect. In an ideal world, going in with an open mind is preferable. But in practice I'm probably going to be prone to losing it Blush

I'm currently 37 weeks, but measuring 41 weeks with Polyhydramnios, large baby with enlarged abdomen, plus being back to back Hmm

So, what should I expect? What was your experience?

Be honest, I can take it Confused

Somersaults · 24/06/2012 18:14

Waiting with bated (sp?!) breath!!

reastie · 24/06/2012 18:41

mcphee positive thoughts and lots of strength your way - another pom pom waver here

ButtonBoo · 24/06/2012 20:23

Should we be assuming that no update from McPhee is a good thing?!!

Sparklingbrook · 24/06/2012 20:28

McPhee I have found you. Grin Sending hugs.x

McPhee · 24/06/2012 20:43

It's all sodding stopped. Not only is my body crap at pregnancy, it seems rather rubbish at labour. So now I'm waiting to be examined before they decide what to do next.

Signed one very tired and grumpy me! Not helped by hearing crying babies :-(

Feeling very dispondant.

Keep your chin up my lovely! Your LO is just too comfy cosy in there.

I guess it would be too freaky to try to get dp on side for some action whilst on labour ward??!! They say sex helps though. Or are you thinking that's what got you into this whole mess in the first place?!!

reastie · 24/06/2012 21:14

Aww mcphee, FWIW same thing happened to me - are they going to try and break your waters anyway or go for csec? xx

buttonboo sex on a labour ward Shock - my mws never knocked before coming in!

McPhee · 24/06/2012 21:31

DP is never coming near me again. The poor sod has been blamed for everything today. I've sent him home to rest for a while. A midwife has just been in and two emergencys are happening so I've been left hanging.

Goodness knows what's going to happen now :-S

reastie · 24/06/2012 21:41

hang on in there mcphee, they can only leave you hanging so long. Have they told you not to eat/drink in prep for a csec yet? I would assume if/when they do that at least you know they will do relatively soon - they wouldn't let you have nill by mouth for too long

ButtonBoo · 24/06/2012 21:43

Yeah, thought it might not be a go-er!!! Wink

If they do decide to break your waters, you know your LO is no more than 24 hrs away. That's the max time they'll let you go with broken waters before opting for EMCS.

Are you able/feel like getting into a warm bath?

MrClaypole · 24/06/2012 21:47

Sorry to hear things are not progressing as quickly as you would have hoped.

Try to get lots of rest in preparation for labour.

Easier said then done on a ward with babies crying I know!

McPhee · 24/06/2012 22:24

Am now back on monitor then having examination. If dilated am off to theatre for waters. Eek

ButtonBoo · 24/06/2012 22:35

Fingers crossed for you!! Will have to check in on you in the morning. Hope for good news... x

McPhee · 24/06/2012 22:37

Am slightly shitting myself and getting in hot flush. Oh shit is it too late to change my mind and get a dog????

Poor DP has just got in bed.

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 24/06/2012 22:40

How about a kitten? Grin No, I think you had better have the baby actually.

slightlycrumpled · 24/06/2012 22:41

McPhee, I have been reading your thread and am wishing your baby here soon for you.

My induction with DS2 did this stop/ start nonsense for a few days while but once it was under way it was really very quick. All over in a couple of hours.

Good luck and erm yes too late to change mind! Smile

Somersaults · 24/06/2012 22:46

Oooh McPhee you're nearly there! Keep going! You can do it and soon you'll be holding your little baby and you won't care about all of this anymore. Hugs xxx

McPhee · 24/06/2012 23:09

Can't reach my bloody cervix but am contracting four in ten minutes, only I'm not feeling them??? That's according to the trace. Now they don't know what yo do, so am stuck on rubbish bed until dr comes out of theatre.

Bangs head on wall....

EdgarAllenPimms · 24/06/2012 23:14

Somersaults · 24/06/2012 23:21

Hey, look on the bright side! You could be contracting four in ten minutes and feeling contractions!
