I am 38+3 with DC2. Hoping for a VBAC after an EMCS for DC1 with who I got to 9cm's with.

I have had period cramps for over a week, two lots of plug coming away and last night lots of tight feelings high in my bump. The period like cramps are really painful and often are alongside sharp pains down below.

I have a week to go into labour, otherwise I am booked for a CS. I am so fed up of symptom spotting and being in this 'is it- is it not?' place. I went into labour at 38+4 with DC1.

So someone come along and tell me lie to me that todays the day. Grin

Daydream, my nan has taken to calling dp the moment I don't pick up my phone. Which is always, always, at the dc's bathtime. And calling me every single Thursday morning to discuss all the gruesome things that happened on OBEM the night before. Bless her, she is deranged. I love that people think we'd honestly overlook to tell them if the baby had been born. I'm dreading the next week. I may well record a curt arsey answerphone message.

DaydreamDolly · 15/03/2012 11:23

Ha! Bless your nan, it all adds to the pressure tho doesnt it.

I feel like putting on FB 'DaydreamDolly would like to reassure you all that we will let you know when the baby is born. We shan't keep it a secret.' But then everyone will have me down as mad and hormonal and will worry about me even more!

Kenobi · 15/03/2012 12:24

fuckity I DID record the phone message but DH made me delete it as he said "people were only calling because they cared."

He's right, no-one calling this time Grin possibly because I've told everyone I'll be late and also cos I scared everyone last time

fuckityfuckfuckfuck · 15/03/2012 12:37

Haha my family think my due date is a few days later than it actually is to give myself a few days grace. But I can see that I'll probably go way past that point anyway. Sigh.

feekerry · 15/03/2012 14:57

i've already had 3 texts this morning saying 'any news yet?'

seriously what the fuck!?! one from my MIL, and 2 from friends that i speak to often. i honestly would NEVER text someone and ask if there is any news. i mean why do people do that. its really winding me up today.... as you can guess.

TheFirstMrsGClooney · 15/03/2012 16:38

feekerry I empathise, I am getting posts on my FB page from SIL saying where is this baby, hurry up, etc. As if I don't want it out?! Aaaarrrrrggggghhhhh. Nice sensitive friend is texting to see if I'm ok and if I want to go for coffee etc. Oh the contrast!

Been having regular mild pains since my sweep this morning, but not counting on it leading to anything as I had the same after my first sweep last week.

When will it end?!

ladymisslulu · 15/03/2012 18:13

Hi ladies, I've been reading through the pages of this thread, thought I'd better say hi. I'm due today, but so far nothing to exciting happening. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who's had cramps and sleepless nights.

MidnightinMoscow · 15/03/2012 18:27

Welcome lady, nope you are not alone in the sleepless nights and symptom watching. We are all fairly obsessed. Grin

Like the stories about well meaning relatives/friends asking for updates.

On and off cramps here still, plus vile looking 'exudate' on my pad and when I go to the loo. Thought you'd all like to hear that.

Dreading another evening of the stabbing fanjo feeling.

Am back thinking I will have the sweep tomorrow now, I am driving myself insane with the constant to'ing and fro'ing of thoughts.

On a sunny note, I plan am to go Topshop to buy some post pregnancy red jeans tomorrow as a reward, should I have the sweep. Smile

fuckityfuckfuckfuck · 15/03/2012 18:40

Oooo yes, have the sweep and buy the jeans! I have £50 of Topshop vouchers burning a hole in my pocket that I've saved since Christmas, I cannot wait to spend them. I am all achey and yuck this evening, and to top it all off, I have a very deeply engaged baby with hiccups Hmm Have an evening in front of the 24 boxset planned, with my good friends Ben and Jerry, and may convince dp to do some nipple twiddling. While we're oversharing, like. I have become obsessed with what I'm eating though. Not from a nutritional point of view (ha!) but from the point of view that I don't want to be eating anything that's going to be nasty should it come out in labour. From either end Blush

MidnightinMoscow · 15/03/2012 18:50

fuckity I am also obsessed with what I am eating, in case it makes the baby get any bigger. I am eating so much sugar though.

Love the enabling of jeans purchase by encouraging a sweep. Grin

Well, it's got to be worth a shot. I've had sweeps with both of my dc. The first did nothing. My second sweep with ds didn't immediately tip me into labour, but it did let me know I was already 3 cms and ready to go. That was a masive boost to my flagging self. It does feel like they're reaching for your tonsils via the wrong entrance mind you. And maybe, should ou go into labour in Topshop they'll give you a ton of free jeans Grin
I've become terribly addicted to polos. I'm getting through a 6 pack every 2 days Shock My weight gain has been on the slow side tbh, but these last few weeks seem to be making up for it. I even had a donut for breakfast...

DaydreamDolly · 15/03/2012 20:22

Welcome Lady Grin

I agree with Fuckity, may as well go for the sweep, at least they'll be able to tell you where you're at. Surely another root around will help? I'm not seeing anyone til 41 weeks (a week tomorrow) and I am working myself up to having another uncomfortable week, then going to my 41 wk apt for a sweep and finding out they can't even reach it, as this is what happened in my last pregnancy Grin Hey go, what will be will be. Trying to be philosophical.
On another note, MIL just texted 'are you still hanging on?!' as if we wouldn't tell her. And then she said don't bother to tell me when you're in labour, just when baby is here safely Hmm
Top shop red jeans sound like a fab treat, I had some top shop maternity green jeans but they made my arse look massive

Rollerbaby · 15/03/2012 20:40

Ha ha! Just seen my last post, made it look very dramatic!!

Been having contractions since 4 ish, sometimes 15 mins apart some more frequent. More frequent if I sit up more.

Don't get exicited though, bet it turns into nothing!

Joygirl78 · 16/03/2012 06:30

Bring it on bring it on, get moving arounfd!!!!

DaydreamDolly · 16/03/2012 07:22

It's too late, I'm excited!! Grin how are you getting on??!!

MidnightinMoscow · 16/03/2012 08:08

I've got a nasty feeling it's nothing.

Although I wonder if I am so used to various pains and cramps over the last few weeks that my pain threshold is a bit higher. I realise now I am talking utter rubbish. Grin

Going to have a shower, and DH and I need to go to the bank to sign something which is a 10 min walk. If it all goes quite after that, then its a gonna.

Am going to knock the sweep on the head though. What will be, will be now.

Back later and hoping someone else does something. Good luck to Roller

just had my first pay packet today since starting mat leave a few weeks ago, apparently i get 12 weeks full pay. hmm, obv my version of full pay is very different to my employers.... ponders on how i can actually pay the bills this month....

fuckityfuckfuckfuck · 16/03/2012 10:21

Ooo come on roller and midnight :) I've had some painful contractions since 6 but they've died down now. Have done an insane amount of housework since the school run so am now settling down for a peaceful day of doing nothing but scoffing Magnums on the sofa.
