I am 38+3 with DC2. Hoping for a VBAC after an EMCS for DC1 with who I got to 9cm's with.

I have had period cramps for over a week, two lots of plug coming away and last night lots of tight feelings high in my bump. The period like cramps are really painful and often are alongside sharp pains down below.

I have a week to go into labour, otherwise I am booked for a CS. I am so fed up of symptom spotting and being in this 'is it- is it not?' place. I went into labour at 38+4 with DC1.

So someone come along and tell me lie to me that todays the day. Grin

Well there's no space today so I'm booked in for an ARM at 9am tomorrow. Will be +16. Madness. I spent yesterday in a horrible weepy mood, and this morning has been much the same. I'm having a plate of spring rolls for lunch that I intend to eat in a nice hot bath to try and relx me. And then off to bed for the afternoon with a book (and a six pack of caramel eggs if only I can remember where I stashed them. Desperate times). I'm still having a lot of bloody show so you never know, things might happen by themself. I'm still holding out hope for that tbh. And I am still holding on to the thought that even when I get there I can change my mind.

MidnightinMoscow · 01/04/2012 13:06

Just popping in to offer support and hugs to you all, sorry that you are still waiting and feeling so down. It really is draining for you all.

Keeping fingers crossed though for everyone.

Had the baby last night! just into day5 of being overdue! he was born at 3.59am on the living room floor after a 4 hour labour, delivered by his daddy and my mum, no medical personnel or midwives present!!! I'm still in (euphoric) shock, the ambulance folks turned up 15min later and the midwife 20mins after them. No problems except I tore slightly and grazed internally, but didn't require stitches/hospital, so yipppppeeee I avoided hospital altogether and have stayed at home Grin Grin I cannot get the little bugger to latch on properly yet Sad am persevering though. He is delicious and dvine, with tiny blonde fuzz Grin

DDs came down in the morning to meet him just after they woke up, was bloody lovely, I feel so lucky! Haven't named him yet, WE CANNOT AGREE lol.

Love to everyone on the thread and best of luck to you all xx

DreamingOfPeace · 01/04/2012 18:07

Oh wow twopeas, just wow Grin Amazing. Well done you! Did you know he'd be a boy? We'll never agree naming ours.

I'm too tired and grumpy and not in labour to write any more, but does the quietness on the thread indicate a mass influx of babies today?!

Flisspaps · 01/04/2012 18:27

Twopeas Congratulations! Now that is the sort of birth I'd quite like (obviously it would be preferable to have a MW present, but quick and no problems and no need for the bloody hospital would be fabulous!)

fuckity who knows, tonight has as much chance of being 'the night' as any other night so far :) If you're 2-3cm with bulging waters then hopefully it will only take the ARM (or some star jumps or lunges) to finally get things going. Crochet hook and a sneeze is what I predict, your baby will be here and you'll be having tea and toast by 9.30am Wink Your biggest worry for tonight should definitely be the missing chocolate.

Flisspaps · 01/04/2012 18:29

Dreaming I've just looked at your photo - lovely :) However, I now understand the slightly Shock faces I get when I reply to the question 'One or two in there?' - I am probably the same size as you, and 39+5 with one humongous baby!

DreamingOfPeace · 01/04/2012 19:59

lol fliss!! I was actually pleased in a shop the other day when someone asked if I was having triplets as I was relieved someone else thought the bump was ridiculous! I think I measure 46 weeks, but stuck trying to get DD to sleep in her room so can't check my notes...

I have consumed a vast amount of chocolatebtoday, including two creme eggs. Now please can I go into labour tonight?! Along with fuckity and feek of course.

feekerry · 01/04/2012 21:00

Just checking in for the evening. Have had what I believe to be early contractions since about 3pm this afternoon. I'm not timing them or anything as I will not be getting my hopes up but they are uncomfortable enough that I have to stop what i'm doing or move for a minute until it passes. Going to try get to bed now just in case. Either way i'm due for my induction appt tomorrow afternoon so baby will be coming at some point soon. Will update you accordingly. X

artifarti · 01/04/2012 21:02

Big congrats twopeas - wow!

Go feekerry! Really hope it's happening for you.

fuckityfuckfuckfuck · 01/04/2012 21:21

Comngratulations twopeas :) This one's also a boy, and we're also still debating names.
Am beginning to scare myself silly about tomorrow. I need to get it together or I'll go in a jibbering wreck and not cope. Appointment is at 9 but we have to be assessed in the FMAU first, then get sent up to the actual delivery suite so there could be lots of waiting around before anything actually happens. I'm hoping we won't be sent home if they're too busy. As much as induction scares me, tbh at this point the birth is beginning to scare me anyway and I just want it to start. I was so positive a few weeks ago, very much in the zone to have a fab natural birth like ds's. Now I'm beginning to doubt my ability to do that and I think that's why I've been so down. I've had a truly shit few days as far as morale goes. But hopefully as soon as these waters go, it'll follow a similar pattern to that birth. If not, well at least I'll be in hospital and close to the drugs, eh.

FlipFantasia · 01/04/2012 21:32

Congrats twopeas! What a story Smile

Feek sounds promising - try to rest as much as you can. My doula kept telling me this and, once I finally gave birth, I really appreciated it as was knackered!

Fuckity really hope tomorrow goes well for you. It sounds promising, as your body sounds so ready to labour that it just needs a little help to get started (especially as your body has responded so well to your waters going in the past). Though I'm sorry to hear you've been so down, some very unMumsnetty ((hugs)) for you - you'll be cuddling your little boy soon Smile

Dreaming love your bump pics!

Seemed hope all good with you - any decision on when to have your ELCS? Are you cuddling your baby already?

Hardcheese hope all is OK with you.

Fliss sorry for the facebook annoyingness - couldn't resist!!

Also Grin at Jordan/Jodie Marsh comments - had totally forgotten how ginormous my boobs get when milk comes in!

DD is feeding really well, though I'm paranoid about thrush because of the antibiotics - am downing the yakult, devouring the greek yogurt, trying though mostly failing to stick to a low sugar diet and taking acidophilus capsules...I had thrush in my nipples in the first weeks BFing DS after the antibiotics they gave me after the section and it was agony (and my nipples are still scarred!). I will do anything to avoid it again!

artifarti · 01/04/2012 22:17

Good luck tomorrow fuckity.

Flisspaps · 01/04/2012 22:23

Flip Grin at the FB, I let you off as you've been there, done that. DH's aunt asked me if there were 'any signs' last night, I could have sobbed - I've not even reached my real bloody EDD yet, never mind the 10 days later date we've actually given people to try to stop the farking stupid 'have you had that baby yet' questions Hmm

BlackEyed · 02/04/2012 00:04

Congrats twopeas

Hope to hear of lots more babies tomorrow, especially fuckity and feek

I think I lost my mucus plug today, no blood but definitely seemed plug like. Not really sure as never noticEd it with the first two but hoping it means things are going well.

Have my 38 week appointment tomorrow and praying that baby is now head down, although it doesn't feel like it based on kicks :(

Also having a growth scan at the same time as baby measured 3 Weeks behind based on fundal height. Not surprised though as the sickness this time has been non stop.

Hope everyone gets on ok tomorrow and looking forward to hearing the news.

MidnightinMoscow · 02/04/2012 04:36

Hope that things are progressing nicely for you Feek.

Good luck for tomorrow Fuckity.

HardCheese · 02/04/2012 08:34

Having given up all hopes of spontaneous labour at 42 weeks today, lost plug at half past midnight, and woke at seven am with what felt - to my amateur uterus - like a proper 'oh Jesus' contraction, though haven't had anything as intense since. Am somewhere between going absolutely mad from fright - my hands are shaking as if I'm being electrocuted - and laughing with partner at baby's killer comic timing - I had decided on an ELCS over the weekend, we have an appointment at the foetal welfare unit at lunchtime, and today is the last day I can be admitted to the MLU. (Though presumably I'll have to be appropriately dilated to be allowed in before midnight strikes tonight...?)

Now trying to decide whether to go in to foetal welfare unit appointment or not - it's a bit of a trek by taxi, if we have to come home again.

Twopeas, congratulations! Good luck to everyone else.

FlipFantasia · 02/04/2012 09:10

hard how exciting! I'd personally skip the foetal monitoring, as the stress of getting there/waiting around/getting home may delay what your body is now starting to do. If it were me, I'd be enjoying some funny films/tv shows, eating choc and enjoying the sunshine! Sending big time labour vibes your way!

[wonders if the lack of updates from Feekery and Fuckity means some more babies are arriving...]

Flisspaps · 02/04/2012 09:21

Hard what Flip said! Everything crossed on your behalf Grin

seemedlikeagudideaatthetime · 02/04/2012 11:18

Hi all - twopeas...oh my god! lol well done you...

No baby here, had the weekend from hell. After finding out about the whole breech thing friday my husband was suddenly taken very ill on saturday night. So I had to rush him to hospital at midnight and sit with him til 6am, then leave on my own and go home for some sleep. He was OK to leave hosp yesterday although very weak and tired so I picked him up and we both just stayed in bed the rest of the day. We think stress triggered it, but of course, none of it triggers my labour!? Although, I was praying it wouldn't or it could have been very bad: I've got no hope of a vaginal birth right now and he was in no fit state to drive obviously so I was like 'stay in baby, stay IN baby!'

I decided to put a stop to the silliness having not a great deal of hope in the ECV at almost 42wks and have requested a csection asap instead. Hubbie still not in great shape so I took a wednesday slot as I have to go in for bloods the day before which would have been today.

Now just absolutely terrified really, of needles, blood, catheters. Really hoping I like this baby so it'll seem worth it, I'm beginning to question/forget why I wanted one anyway!? I was fine before!!

seemedlikeagudideaatthetime · 02/04/2012 20:17

ok...I either killed the thread....or everbody sneezed Hmm

FlipFantasia · 02/04/2012 21:23

seemed how awful about your dh - what was wrong with him? Hope he's better now. sounds like a good idea about the elcs - so you'll be meeting your baby on wed!

And I suspect there are babies being sneezed as feekery, fuckity and hard cheese haven't checked in in a while!

Also, dreaming, hope you're hanging tough - wed is the big day for you too isn't it?

DreamingOfPeace · 02/04/2012 21:46

I am.having such painful bh (which the mw had no interest in at pre op this morning), and generally suffering. Bring on Wed... Finally got most of the stuff for my hospital bag, bar nighties. Sainsburys had none that would do for easy feeding!! on the other hand, after getting my big knickers etc in sainsburys and stocking up as if for Armageddon , I stood in a massive check out queue and a member of staff quietly came and got me and took me and opened a new till for me- said they didn't think i should be waiting that long Blush . Now that's how I know I'm visibly vast, waddling and struggling!!!!

Poor DD is ill. Cough cough cough cough cough. After 2 hours getting her to bed last night she was up after an hour, and at least every hour til one am, then slept til 5. I feel shattered!!!

seemed does sound so stressful about your dh. I'd go ELCS if I was you. You and me for the chop on Wednesday.

I reckon feek, fuckity and hardcheese could all have their babies by now, exciting!!!!

fuckityfuckfuckfuck · 02/04/2012 23:10

We're home! Ds born at 6.10 after an established labour of only 40 minutes. Shocked isn't the word. I had to hdve tbh propess pessary which was disappointing but when it got going, it really did get going. I was put in an antenatal room to wait for things to happen, and I. Wry quickly realised I had to get in a delivery room ASAP. Only just got in the pool, 3 very surprising pushes and he was out. I'd only been told I was 4cms 40 minutra earlier. Just a graze too. I will say to anyone having propess, it hurt a lot. It really irritated me to the point I thought my bits were swollen and falling out. And it hyperstumulated me so when contractions came, they weren't long lasting but there was very little gap between, I was having about 7 every ten minutes. As soon as the propess was removed, contractions kept up but my bits were back to normal! A very happy Fuckity and co here tonight :)

Flisspaps · 02/04/2012 23:25

Congratulations fuckity - the hour may have been wrong, but my guess of 30 mins (based on a 9am start and a 9.30am finish) and a sneeze was bloody good Grin

DaydreamDolly · 03/04/2012 03:48

Huge congrats Fuckity! Brilliant news, and so quick! Sorry the propess made a painful experience even more painful, but I bet you're glad he's out of you Grin
Just checking in at feeding time. My baby is insatiable, a real milk monster.
