I am 38+3 with DC2. Hoping for a VBAC after an EMCS for DC1 with who I got to 9cm's with.

I have had period cramps for over a week, two lots of plug coming away and last night lots of tight feelings high in my bump. The period like cramps are really painful and often are alongside sharp pains down below.

I have a week to go into labour, otherwise I am booked for a CS. I am so fed up of symptom spotting and being in this 'is it- is it not?' place. I went into labour at 38+4 with DC1.

So someone come along and tell me lie to me that todays the day. Grin

40weeks today. Realise it could be a while yet but what bugs me is that I've had NO signs of contractions of any kind. I've been asked about 'twinges' by my mother...well, I'm always getting LITTLE twinges - a bit of periody pain, a little stabby pain in my fanny or cervix area, little pains in the bump. But nothing serious. ever. My cousin was contracting for up to 5hrs at a time days before birth. people wang on about braxton hicks. I've had none of that!?

I keep wondering if it's happening but my nerves don't work so the baby will just slip out without me noticing Grin

DaydreamDolly · 24/03/2012 20:36

Uhhh Fliss you can reach your cervix??! I'm very jealous! I can only just reach to wipe after a wee! Grin

seemedlikeagudideaatthetime · 24/03/2012 20:38

ha, ditto daydreamdolly! NO hope!

feekerry · 24/03/2012 20:41

seemed we only believe in sneeze births here so I fully predict you'll sneeze and baby will slip out. Daydream lol! Even reaching to wipe is a effort!

seemedlikeagudideaatthetime · 24/03/2012 20:43

oh, so I'll just wake up tomorrow morning and it'll be there? excellent Grin

TheFirstMrsGClooney · 24/03/2012 20:44

Sorry not had time to read all the updates, just wanted to post that I finally had DD on Thursday morning! Induced Tuesday evening which was slow, but v quick labour once it started, 3.5hrs from start to finish. All happy now with my lovely newborn and have (almost) forgotten the traumas of the last few weeks.

Good luck to everyone else! Hope those babies come soon!!

seemedlikeagudideaatthetime · 24/03/2012 20:45

Has anybody gone into labour WITHOUT nesting? People seem to see that as a concrete sign...I'm having to force myself to clean anything...or care lol

seemedlikeagudideaatthetime · 24/03/2012 20:45

great news TheFirst!

DaydreamDolly · 24/03/2012 20:52

Seemed Grin yep, if you sneeze in your sleep you may not even wake for the labour
Thefirst CONGRATS! How many days over 40 wks were you when you were induced? Fab quick labour, hope you're both well.

FlipFantasia · 24/03/2012 20:53

Fliss Grin at fanoir! Interesting about the funny feeling - would so love if this baby surprised you by coming early! And well impressed with your cervix furtling - go go gadget arms! I can actually reach my cervix too (albeit only with some comedy positioning) but am too nervous to actually reach in iykwim. But have been taking loads of evening primrose oil both orally and vaginally for some weeks now (I know, I know, I said I wasn't trying any old wives tales...but I think EPO possibly has some validity!) so was checking to see what impact it was having....but have now decided to lay off the checking just in case this isn't wee.

daydreamdolly lots of show and BHs sounds v promising! Hope sneeze labour is imminent!

Kenobi hope all good with you and that you're snuggling a gorgeous baby by now Smile

Thanks for the advice ladies. I've put on a pad and will wait and see. Good old DH has just been googling and said "waters apparently smell like semen" - glad he's getting into the spirit of things Grin. Have also texted my doula. Reckon it's probably just my bladder finally packing in after months lugging this jumbo bump around (am rubbish at doing pelvic floor exercises Blush). Trying to remember how late I went with DS and so fully expecting to be here next Sat wondering about the same things...

FlipFantasia · 24/03/2012 22:27

OK, I think it might be my waters...and I think I may be having things that are more than twinges...really hope this night brings some action...

DreamingOfPeace · 24/03/2012 22:35

flip, just had to pop on quickly and say that's exactly how my waters went and I predict you being in labour now!!! unlike I ever was, stupid know-nothing body, you're meant to contract once waters break . I woke up sure my pelvic floor had given up and is done a bit of wee while half asleep, rushed to bathroom but kept feeling little gushes every now and then. Which were my waters, not my bladder :-) go, flip, go!

DaydreamDolly · 25/03/2012 07:51

How exciting, Flip Any news?!

40+9, still pregnant Sad

artifarti · 25/03/2012 07:54

Oooh flip that sounds exciting! Are you here? Or off having a baby?!

Congratulations thefirst, nice to hear a positive induction story.

I am also very impressed that anyone can reach their cervix Shock Tidying up my bikini line all but exhausted me the other day.

I had lots of crampy feelings yesterday for the first time and baby was so low that every time I had a wee it just dribbled out of me (tmi?) But surprise, surprise, here I am, 40+8 and no baby.

Flisspaps · 25/03/2012 07:56

First thing I thought of this morning was you Flip...fingers crossed for your VBAC.

Out of sorts-ness was just an odd mood here, no baby. Fucking awful sleep though, too hot - tossed and turned for hours. When I did sleep I had a bad dream and woke up to DH trying to calm me down, poor sod probably wondered what was going on!

feekerry · 25/03/2012 08:55

Great news the first and go flip make sure you sneeze hard! Cant believe i'm not in labour. 41 weeks today. So so pissed off.

DreamingOfPeace · 25/03/2012 09:19

No baby news yet?! Hurry up and let us know flip!

arti , I've got that with the weeing... And have to change position to half standing at the end to be able to finish my wee. Already had a week of that... And even at night I can't go more than 2 hours without one. Totally sucks, totally exhausting.

Join you with the awful sleep fliss. My dh would probably just have been cross I'd woken him!!

And now look- forgot to get the washing out of the machine last night. So the sole pair of trousers that fit me are in it, soaking wet. Gah.

fuckityfuckfuckfuck · 25/03/2012 10:46

40+8. Nothing. No more show, no cramps, no sleep. I partook of curry and The Sex. Nothing. I've tempted fate by letting my legs and bikini line be woefully ignored for days now. Nothing. So today I'll mostly be the scowling woman in the park just daring you to come and ask me when I'm due. I will snarl, I swear I will.

jaylee89 · 25/03/2012 11:00

come on flip let us know..........sorry ladies for crashing your thread. im only 7 weeks pregnant with DC2 but i cant get enough of reading this thread.

Flisspaps · 25/03/2012 11:04

jaylee some of us on here will feel like you'll reach 40w and giving birth before we do! Grin

I quite fancy a Christmas baby actually, don't think I'll bother with March or April after all.

jaylee89 · 25/03/2012 11:07

lol if i reach 40w before all you ladies i will feel very sorry for you lol.........you will be giving births to toddlers Shock. OUCH!

i can imagine how fed up you all must be feeling though! and now the hot weather is being sprung onto us well that makes it 20 times worse.

im due 10 november would be nice to have xmas baby though!

DaydreamDolly · 25/03/2012 11:21
Grin

I've been googling this morning, whether it's possible to NEVER go into labour naturally. Obsessed? Moi?

Loads more plug coming away today but no other signs. DD's last day at playgroup tomorrow, DH has offered to go into work late and take her in for me, do I let him or do I just grin and bear it?!

Flisspaps · 25/03/2012 11:27

I'd say take her in yourself. Sending DH into work will surely guarantee you go into labour on the walk to playgroup Grin

DaydreamDolly · 25/03/2012 11:36

Good point Fliss!

artifarti · 25/03/2012 11:43

Daydream - I was Googling exactly the same thing last night, convinced that I am a medical freak! Have just a good cry in the bath.
