DutchOma · 15/12/2011 17:53

Glad you like hat and bootees. I put my hand up to making a new thread, someone had to. Didn't know what you had in mind for your Christmas name, so kept it as simple as I could. You can always start a new thread yourself now.

Congratulations, lovely name and you did really well to do the lot on gas and air! Clever thing.

But what's Eleanor like?! Is she all gorgeous and snuffly and pink and perfect?! Were you surprised she was a girl? Who told you what sex she was? Does she look like either of you or is it too soon to tell?

andSothisisChristmasme · 15/12/2011 20:35

Gorgeous name for a gorgeous little girl.

Thumbinnapuddingwitch · 15/12/2011 22:49

Well done nickel - sorry you had a bit of a rough time at the end there but congratulations on your lovely baby girl, and what a lovely name she has! It's lovely having a tiny baby at Christmas (mine was 3w old on his first Christmas Day) - especially if you get one of those mini-santa suits for them Xmas Grin!
DS still plays with his first ever Christmas present - a 14" high stuffed reindeer Xmas Smile

HarderToKidnap · 15/12/2011 23:24

CONGRATS NICKEL!!!! Beautiful name.

I'm sitting here cuddling my new baby Jonah, born in my kitchen today at 18.14 on his due date. Can look forward to Crimble now!!

saffronwblue · 16/12/2011 05:39

Congatulations - as someone said upthread it was a privilege to be virtually in amongst Eleanor's birth. You were very brave.
There's nothing like a girl born on 12/12!

peggyblackett · 16/12/2011 06:37

Congratulations nickel and family :)

Lovely, lovely name - so pretty.

I hope you're enjoying lots of lovely cuddles, I'm due in 5 weeks so your story is making me all excited!

Congratulations to Hardertokidnap too. In your kitchen? Wow!

Slightlytinsellyexpat · 16/12/2011 07:14

Great to hear from you again Nickel. Eleanor is a lovely name.

I keep thinking about you and have been wondering how you are. You had such a long second stage, and rather a nasty time really. So pleased to hear you sounding just like yourself. I like the bit where you complained about the un-iron-y food and tea. Good for you.

Do look after yourself. Don't go out till you are ready. Don't do any more than the minimum for a while. You need to rest and to heal.

Hope you have a lot of ThanksBiscuitWineBrew chez Nickel.

homeaway · 16/12/2011 09:58

Congratulations Nickelbabe! I've just come out of hospital and want to see the story. Can someone tell me what page it is on??!

I delivered ok on the 11th december 9.02pm, Charlotte Erin, 9lb 14 but had a huge haemorrage and ended up in intensive care. Hence the silence! Luckily I am now all fixed and home :)

Desperate to hear how you went Nickelbabe - and huge huge congratulations. It feels like we've been through it together. I would love to read this thread properly but not concentrating yet, only just out!
