nickelbabe · 11/12/2011 15:15

DH is now playing the piano.
he got a selection of "pop" and classical, and was about to play "you are the sunshine of my life" Hmm to which i put an immediate stop Hmm

i'm hating these contractions.

Jacksmania · 11/12/2011 15:18

Rough, are they?

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 11/12/2011 15:18

Yes we do!

I reckon 17.45.

Come on Nickel!

nickelbabe · 11/12/2011 15:18

MWs think toilet is good too.
it hurts too much.
when I have a wee, i feel the pressure to wee (with contractions, it seems) andthen by God it hurts once i've weed!!!
Shock

the MWs said it was because the wee is causing a bubble cushion and when I wee, it relieves the bubble and so the baby's head is pressing on the cervix, and is better positioning.
which is good. :)

I'm also eating and drinking loads which they are very pleased with..
guess what, he's playing that bloody song now.
while the cat's away. Hmm

Yes yes to the toilet thing.

The midwife told me to try and go to the loo. I sat on it and had 3 cx one after the other than were horrible. Within 2 minutes I needed to push but no one took any notice of me so I said I need to poo. They listened then. Baby born 20 minutes later.

MrsSnaplegs · 11/12/2011 15:21

I don't suppose you'd let him do a good rousing chorus of "Nellie the Elephant"? No - oh well Wink

ZhenTheHallsWithBoughsOfHolly · 11/12/2011 15:21

Aw bless, watching your wife in labour can be awe inspiring, one would guess he is just telling you how he feels Grin

TheOriginalFAB · 11/12/2011 15:21

JKSLtd · 11/12/2011 15:23

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 11/12/2011 15:26

morethemerrier · 11/12/2011 15:28

Wow, just caught up and has just informed DH that I will not be leaving my seat until Nickle has had her baby!!! Xmas Grin

I guess 8.36pm, boy 8lb!

And I think all this toilet going is building up to spectacular rupture of waters!Xmas Wink

GO GO Nickle! Yay!

Ponyclubmum · 11/12/2011 15:28

Dammit I have to go out now. I'll be straight back on here when I get home to see your birth announcement! Wishing you all the best. :)

I think as well as holding the record for the most threads for a birth, you also hold the record for enticing the most lurkers out of the woodwork! Congratulations! :o

fraktious · 11/12/2011 15:29

Rebet

19.28

bemybebe · 11/12/2011 15:29

OOOooooooooo, how exciting!!!

Go Nickel, go baby!!! Go baby, go Nickel!!!

Xmas Wink
CaptainSexypantsMcFantastic · 11/12/2011 15:30

Oh yes, definitely make sure you keep going to the loo. I know it hurts but having a full bladder can really hinder your progress (as I found out first time round when they had to catheterise...shudders)

Sounds like you're well on your way. Needing to keep going for a wee seemed to signal the beginnig of the end for me. Sitting on the toiket was the first time I really felt the need to shout through a contraction and the first time I started to feel a bit pushy. Not long now I think.

worm77daisy · 11/12/2011 15:33

Outing myself to metaphorically hold your hand.... I am soooo excited!!

I'll guess girl 16:45 8lb 8ozs.

You go girl.

PrincessSugarPlum · 11/12/2011 15:37

Go Nickel go Nickel go!!!

Have been reading and rooting for you. Amazing that you have so many people supporting you!! Our own little viroid central stage!

I think you're amazing xxx

pixiestix · 11/12/2011 15:39

I'm offline until tomorrow now but I will be thinking of you and hoping for a speedy outcome for you! Good luck!

TheFirstNoelChinchilla · 11/12/2011 15:41

Nickel, you're doing fantastically, and being able to update us all as well.
Your DH needs to be ordered to sing something else by someone there! Do you have a list of approved labour songs that he can choose from?

So glad the MW issue is sorted out, and so you can just concentrate on yourself and ISBN

LittleDragon · 11/12/2011 15:42

Another lurker coming out of the woodwork to wish you luck.

My bet is girl 8.5lb 17.47

MadamTwoSwords · 11/12/2011 15:42

Phew, I had to go tesco waitrose and walking round I worried I was going to miss it. Have been lurking throughout and after my horrific birth this is helping me put some demons to rest. Go nickelbabe and ISBN.
