2.5 hours should be good time for your DH to be there. wedding party won't mind i'm sure.

saffronwblue · 11/12/2011 10:40

Phew, friend is here.

Tangle · 11/12/2011 10:41

Very glad your friend is there :). Sounds like your happy for her to handle hospital, etc, so let her. Then you can "concentrate" on welcoming baby and going with the flow.

madangelhairday · 11/12/2011 10:43

Oooh nickel things are moving for you. Glad friend is on way

ByThePowerOfGreyskullsOnIpad · 11/12/2011 10:43

ooh good luck!
dont panic, this is a good thing
the pain should be faded in between contractions is that right?

madangelhairday · 11/12/2011 10:44

Oh missed last one - glad friend is here, not on way.

TheOldestCat · 11/12/2011 10:44

Glad your friend's there. Cheering you on from Faversham! Good luck.

Tangle · 11/12/2011 10:44

I went really quite once things got moving. I think the TENS served a dual purpose as DH/MWs could see when I turned the "boost" on and off and use that as a contraction guide.

You're doing so well. Just keep breathing and you'll be cuddling that baby before you know it :)

MudAndGlitter · 11/12/2011 10:46

De-lurking. Good luck Nickel and Mr Nickel.

My vote is boy.
And is it just me but ISBN is really growing on me as a name!

Blatherskite · 11/12/2011 10:46

I wish I'd had you lot when I went into labour!

Blatherskite · 11/12/2011 10:47

If it's a boy, his name IS BeN surely? :)

whenPaschagotstuckupthechimney · 11/12/2011 10:48

I went from where you are to birth in just over 4 hours so I am going to go with
Girl 7lb12oz at 2.33pm.

minceorotherwise · 11/12/2011 10:50

Or Isabella nickel??

stripeywoollenhat · 11/12/2011 10:50

it's impossible to do deep even breathing while panicking: concentrate on keeping your breaths long and deep when you start feeling a bit fight-or-flighty and it should help to keep it at bay

HugosGoatee · 11/12/2011 10:51

Good luck nickel, relax and enjoy this amazing time! You have hundreds of MNers cheering you on!

nickelbabe · 11/12/2011 10:52

he texted back "we're in the middle of prayers, do you want me to come now?" so i replied it was okay cos Friend is here.
she's timing my contractions - they seem quite irregular, but quite close together.
problem is, i can't tell what's a real one and what's a niggle.
it's driving me mad!

and other friend is on her way now too.

quite funny, cos I wasn't sure if i'd wnt people around, but you lot have been with me for the past few days, so I feel a bit more communal about it!
and at least I've got people to talk to! Grin

JKSLtd · 11/12/2011 10:58

If they are irregular and not that huge right now you may have a while to go, so ind positions that are comfy, eat & drink if you feel like it, etc.

Glad another friend is coming, when is DH due home if he does all he planned?
