Every 5mins? Eek! When is your dh back?

Tangle · 11/12/2011 10:06

You could always use your mn support as a contraction timing device. If you want to. Can also see that might be a touch too much involvement, though...

Pantofino · 11/12/2011 10:06

Have you eaten something? I found a warm bath much more effective than the Tens machine.

nickelbabe · 11/12/2011 10:06

Right, i've texted my friend (shop friend - the friend who wants to help the birth, i told not to rush, so I don't want to panic her - she's got to come over from Maidstone) - shop friend is a HB expert, so she'll know what to do.

I'm going to find the tens machine....

Yay!

I second the vote for the TENS machine.

When are you expecting your DH home?

nickelbabe · 11/12/2011 10:08

Fio - yes, we're told to call the delivery suite, because no one is in our local hospital on the weekend, so they're all on call out.

OP posts:
nickelbabe · 11/12/2011 10:08

ooh, that started big!

OP posts:
nickelbabe · 11/12/2011 10:09

Yes deffo get the tens on- at the very least it will give a chance to get the hang of it! On HB number 3, we had forgotten how it worked and spent quite a time faffing around with the instruction book. At one point DH nearly made my hair stand on end when he turned it up too high! Grin

Alouisee · 11/12/2011 10:10

Just a thought, when I had my unplanned home birth the midwives closed the windows and put the heating on - in July!

Tangle · 11/12/2011 10:10

We're you told to call Medway when in labour? From what you've said I was kind of expecting Memorial (is that right? Where nice Rose is) to be your point of contact when things kicked off Confused

Very glad to hear your friend is on her way. Have you at least let DH know things are happening?

Sparklingbaubles · 11/12/2011 10:11

I never got the hang of the Tens machine but it kept me occupied between contractions. Grin

Alouisee · 11/12/2011 10:12

If they're 4 minutes apart - she's having a contraction right now?

nickelbabe · 11/12/2011 10:12

i don't knwo what to do now.
i'm starting to panic a bit.

OP posts:
Sparklingbaubles · 11/12/2011 10:13

Don't panic. Have you spoken to DH yet?

pixiestix · 11/12/2011 10:13

Don't panic sweetheart, you are doing brilliantly.
Call your DH and see whether he can come and be with you.

ChocChipMisteltoeAndWine · 11/12/2011 10:14

Time to get dh back...quickly!

Thumbinnapuddingwitch · 11/12/2011 10:14

Nickel - stay calm - just get someone to be there with you asap. but Stay Calm. All will be well - you just need someone there.

JKSLtd · 11/12/2011 10:14

Get your DH home NOW, panic can be a sign of transition and lots of people do labour fast when overdue.

Alouisee · 11/12/2011 10:16

I wish we had Mr Nickels number.
