Oh, I am desperate to be there!! HmmBlushShock.

Go BabyNickel!!

happymole · 11/12/2011 09:33

Yay!!!!! Sounds like labour to me Smile

Contractions really don't hurt much to start with, they are more uncomfortable.

Figgyrollsintoapudding · 11/12/2011 09:33

Darn it missed the saturday thing but if it helps had my show and 6 hours later ds was born!

mumatron · 11/12/2011 09:34

another lurker coming on to wish you good luck.

I'll place my bet on isbn being a boy and i think he will weigh 7lb9oz and he will be born just after midnight. (12/12 is a great birthdate, my ds will be 11 tomorrow)

Sparklingbaubles · 11/12/2011 09:34

I think Nickel may draw the line at an audience FAB. We are all there in spirit. Grin

ISawPINOTSnoggingSantaClaus · 11/12/2011 09:35

again

Come on ISBN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HighHeidYin · 11/12/2011 09:36

So glad it is sunday and can watch this thread all day. Very considerate of lsbn!

TheOriginalFAB · 11/12/2011 09:37

LOL. I didn't want to watch! I was thinking about helping. (Hmm at me.)

bigTillyMincepie · 11/12/2011 09:39

Nickel, I hate to rain on your parade, but DH's birthday in Dec 13th and he always wants the tree up beforeGrin

Surges sound good!

Alouisee · 11/12/2011 09:39

It's baby day isn't it! The excitement I felt when I read that "the bloody show" had appeared is off the scale!

Come on Nickel, come on Isbn.

CuriosityCola · 11/12/2011 09:41

Excellent advice from fiolondon. It has reminded me of dh getting me to wiggle my jaw. A relaxed jaw is meant to give you an easer birth for some reason.

I think you will have a girl, 8lbs2oz at 5pm. The stubbornness not to be rushed into arriving makes me think of a girl for some reason Grin

ConfessionsOfATinselFanjo · 11/12/2011 09:42

Ohh how exciting, signing in in time to find Nickel calling the MWs!!!

nickelbabe · 11/12/2011 09:42

haha.
just spoke to the delivery suite and said "i had a sweep yesterday, and i think something's starting to happen, so I just wanted to discuss it and see what you thought" the lady said "i'll put you through to Triage so they can see what they think" then Triage was engaged, so she came back and said she'd take my name and number and get them to ring me.

ooh, they've jsut rung.
I said 6-7 minutes apart because I'm not sure how far apart they are... but they're regular in magnitude, and I told her about the poo Blush
she warned me that because I'm 3 days over the 40+12 they recommend for induction that they prefer me to go in rather than someone coming out (yeah, I'm not tempted to get dressed and do that journey again! ), but that I had to keep timing them and keep an eye on wht's happening within the next couple of hours and ring again if/when they get closer together, (she said 5 minutes and lasting a minute), to ask again.

here's one now. 9:40. ow.
I've lost count - i think that was about 40 seconds... Confused

(i'm not very good at this - i can tell when they're starting up, but i can't tell when they're wearing off -like i'm used to the pain by then!)

Definitely phone to say you think things are happening, you have a hb planned so will call back when you need the midwife and her lovely gas and air.

nickelbabe · 11/12/2011 09:44

MrsSnapLegs - i can certainly have a conversation through them, but i don't want to move around (although, I did just get up and walk off with the last one just to make sure it didn't stop when I changed position. and it didn't, it was bloody uncomfortable)

Curiosity my four dds were all 2 wks late. You could be right!

Although I feel in my old bones it's a boy. 7lb 10.

CiderwithBuda · 11/12/2011 09:44

Another lurker on your previous threads wishing you lots of luck and "baby come today" vibes.

Three threads??? This must be a record?

TheFirstNoelChinchilla · 11/12/2011 09:45

Oh this is sounding like good news, so excited for you nickle!

And just think of the number of women across the country who will be frantically refreshing pages, batting small children away and ordering OHs to do all the Sunday roast/trips out/family visits in your honour!

nickelbabe · 11/12/2011 09:46

the wiggling jaw stuff reminds me of bellydancing too - Our teacher makes us open our mouths really really widely while we're doing new stuff or concentrating really hard, cos she says that it makes your other muscles stop tensing. Grin

Have been off MN for a couple of days, but it looks like I haven't missed the main action. Thanks for hanging on for me nickel! Grin

Good luck!

Figgyrollsintoapudding · 11/12/2011 09:47

Slack Jaw nickel, Slack Jaw - with DS I cracked a Molar Blush

whenPaschagotstuckupthechimney · 11/12/2011 09:47

Mine went from about 40 seconds to about 90 seconds over the course of about 10 minutes Grin

I phoned the MLU just before 1am, told take 2 paracetamol and have a bath, call back in the morning. 10 minutes later DH rang them back and said we're coming in because I was on the floor with the contractions. He drove at 100mph down the dual carriageway and hit a rabbit Sad. When we got there the car stank of rubber and brakes. I was 7cm by then (only another 10mins later)

ClaimedByMe · 11/12/2011 09:47

Yet another lurker here!

Glad things are starting, both my pregnancies were overdue and my body wasn't keen to go into labour but when it did it was all over very very quickly!

Good luck xx

Figgyrollsintoapudding · 11/12/2011 09:48

I think its a girl, slightly stubborn like its mummy Wink Grin

nickelbabe · 11/12/2011 09:49

now i'm worrying they won't send someone out.

I'm sure that when she mentioned we were due to go in today for another sweep, she said have someone have a look at the same time. That sounds like she's expecting me to go in anyway.
sod that! if everything's moving the right way, which is how it feels, I'm not going all that way. what's the point?
