there.
part 2 of the "not-live-birth-thread"

How come I can conceive and carry through a pregnancy but I can't finish one?

Ackterlee I think you'll find it's called a barm cake

And the big floury one is called an oven bottom muffin

Begone with your talk of baps.

largeginandtonic · 07/12/2011 17:17

Oooh a stitch twinge. I have had those before. Time it...

I am with Capn in the interference scale. Best avoided if possible but you have to just go with it when it become necessary. I have been every rung on the bloody ladder and the only advice i can give is an open mind.

You know your body better than anyone too, don't be rail roaded. Beat them back Grin

Besides, like Capn say's she has SEEN the birth and it is lovely. The stitch like pain is the start of it.

You need something like a jacket potato and salad with protein for tea. To set you up for the birth later.

CaptainSexypantsMcFantastic · 07/12/2011 17:29

O/T but your dinners always sound so appetising. I get hungry reading what you're having/have had to eat.

Any twinges are progress, fingers crossed more follow!

ChippingInNeedsSleep · 07/12/2011 17:36

Keep eating Nickel - you need to keep your labouring strength up!!

Figgyrollsintoapudding · 07/12/2011 17:38

I'm back and you've gone! Bugger I bet wrong Sad

naturalbaby · 07/12/2011 17:38

nothing planned is good, baby inducing good!

whale music and a dark room...

think positive, keep telling/convincing yourself positive things about how perfectly positioned baby is and how you're going to do it all by yourself, maybe a whiff of G&A?

usingapseudonym · 07/12/2011 17:48

I've got consutant in the morning and feeling very grumpy. Had thought it would come by now :(

youtalkintome · 07/12/2011 18:30

Well i've been que jumped again today by a friend who was due the day after me Sad. Having been up since 3am i'm now too tired to give birth although the Mw on call tonight seems very lovely and the house is all tidy perhaps the baby is waiting for the Christmas tree to go up?

Any later than Sunday and they won't let me have a home birth, so fed up. The pool is mocking me downstairs, i think i'm going to fill it up tonight and wallow in it and self pity.

youtalkintomeunderthemiseltoe · 07/12/2011 18:35

Nickel are you planning on hypnobirthing or just doing it all alone? I need to actually write my birthplan that would be a start.

SixFeetUnder · 07/12/2011 18:36

Hope your twinge comes to something, have been lurking for ages and you totally have my sympathies.

DS2 came on the day I was going in to get induced and I think it was the fear of that that made him 'pop'. Maybe Thursday will be the day, I do hope so for you (and all the other overdue ladies on thread)

nickelbabe · 07/12/2011 18:51

Fourthousand - i know where you coem from now. Grin

cobs are cobs are cobs.
my thread, my rules. so [nur]

How about a 'bread roll'?

TheOriginalFAB · 07/12/2011 18:55

NICKEL you must agree to be induced. SFU has reminded me that so many babies come on the day they are meant to be induced - ie naturally - so maybe you need to book it??

nickelbabe · 07/12/2011 18:57

I've got to ring Medway in the morning to tell them I'm not being induced.
not actually looking forward to that.

youtalkin - i was queue-jumped too - Assistant's Stepfather's sister was due on 27th and gave birth on the 29th.

youtalkin (again) Capn sent me a cd to listen to, which is lovely, but I'm not sure how muc huse I'll get out of it. I will try to go with the flow as much as possible. I haven't written an actual birth plan, but i have printed out that "if i go over any more" plan that I posted earlier.

the Tens machine that CuriosityCola lent me is very weird (it's a lot stronger than the one that we got from DH's mum) - i used it a bit last night when I had back ache and it worked really well.

We went to sainsbugs in order to get pizza- they had the posh bases in the reduced cabinet, so we picked up 2 packs.
then we saw that they were doing a "takeaway" dinner for 4 for £10, which is quite bargainous, so we picked those up.
accidentally, it happens to be a curry. and even more accidentally (i didn't notice till i got home!) the veggie one is really hot.
Just hearing DH take them out of the oven now, so will be back later.
(i'm staaaaarving)

cobs are only to do with corn or talked about by people from strange places.

I find no one knows what -

a cake from the fish shop is
a bap is (and no, it is not a boob Hmm)
a corflick.

Why I married a Southerner I don't know.

chocolateyclur · 07/12/2011 18:57

Have you tried clary sage? I'm adding some to my bath tonight as my sprog behaved and didn't appear during DS's nativity. It's a very strong smell and apparently can bring on/strengthen contractions...

nickelbabe · 07/12/2011 18:58

can only book it to the day FAB - they don't book the time until you ring in the morning of the day.
so it was a decision that had to be made in advance (shop cover not happening you see)

OP posts:
chocolateyclur · 07/12/2011 18:58

And does cob/bap etc = breadcake?

latrucha · 07/12/2011 18:58

nickelbabe - I give you 'bun'. How about bun?

TheOriginalFAB · 07/12/2011 19:00

So you can book the day in advance and then ring that morning to confirm and find out the time?

youtalkintomeunderthemiseltoe · 07/12/2011 19:01

It's true i gave in a long battle and finally agreed to be induced ds was born the next day. Have agreed 14 days this time i know myself i can't do any longer they've agreed to let me just have my waters broken and the up to 6 hours to get going on my own which is what usually happens and then if baby is happy they'll let me in the pool, i'm quite pleased about this, thought i'd have to argue with them but no, makes a change.

youtalkintomeunderthemiseltoe · 07/12/2011 19:06

I had a sainsbos veggie curry last night and nada although without getting to excited my braxton hicks are really ramping up this is normal 2-3 day before I give birth behaviour although not painful at all. I'm using the Maggie Howell Cd, used it last time and it was great for relaxation although i still felt it.

choc i smell permanently of clary sage, it's done nothing except turn DH off.

nickelbabe · 07/12/2011 19:25

buns are sweet.
I think they're also American (as in Burger bun)

that's right FAB
I had to book the day when I went for my last MW appt.
I think i'd pretty much already decided then that I wasn't going to do it.

Correlation isn't causation.

the curry i had was so hot I've burnt my lips.
ow ow ow ow
It tasted very nice though.

ooh, BH.... I had those last week, though Wink

is it like Stollen? Confused

OP posts:
nickelbabe · 07/12/2011 19:26
