Guess which Hunker's baby is head down now :o)

Hooray! Had growth scan today and the baby's cephalic! I've been feeling massive movements, but thought that was par for the course - this baby's very active. Did think he or she was transverse yesterday, so perhaps was getting ready to behave for the scan?!

Baby's measuring a tiny bit small, but blood supply's fine through placenta. Is mad the things they can see on scans, isn't it?! Have another scan in a fortnight (and I resisted asking the sex of the baby very, very well I thought!).

glad everything is fine munker and glad you didn't get the sex

is that how we talk about babies now 'cephalic'? - transverse? how bizarre I didn't want all that detail - just head down, fixed, all's well, did me!

MarsyChristmas · 06/12/2005 20:09

tried guessing.................... am stuck..........

You're gonna have to help me out.

Which Hunker's baby......?
Head down now....?

Nope! Gone!!

MistleToo · 06/12/2005 20:10

LOL!

hoXMASchick · 06/12/2005 20:11

hooray! and you must have excellent blood sugars to make the baby small. my 2 were 7lbs10 & 6lbs11 when they were born so it really is possible. hang on in there, not too long now. xxx

Papillon · 06/12/2005 20:13

Fantastic news HM!!!!!!!

You did resist well in asking the sex, never know they could still get in wrong like the doctor who scanned me!! DS was a girl for about 8 hours!

All the best

pupucelovesruDOuLaph · 06/12/2005 20:21

Toldya

AwayInAMunker · 06/12/2005 20:27

Pupuce, I thought of you when I was typing the original post on this thread You're fab

Marsy, go on, try a bit harder - you'll get it, I'm sure

Jools and Paps - DH wasn't at the scan, and he's the one who REALLY doesn't want to know (I know I'd regret asking, but part of me secretly wants a peek ) so I could've asked, but oh, the guilt - the crashing guilt! So I didn't!

HC - yes, am bewildered by the small baby thing, had no idea I'd controlled my sugars this well - this one weighs exactly half what DS did when he was born atm (but I know, growth scans can be out on weight by a fair way!). Guess I'll know more at the next scan...which will be done when the baby's due in three weeks and four days - hardly seems possible!

Guessing again.................

Camilla Duchess of Cornwall?

Carol Thatcher?

Cherie Blurrrrrrr again?

Vicky Beckham?

Nope..... those were my best guesses!

bauble99 · 06/12/2005 20:35

Did you have even a teeny peep at the screen during the moment of truth? Or did you look the other way, like a good munker?

I was reading that Tom Cruise has bought a home scanner so that he can 'watch his child grow'.
Poor little thing, Can you imagine having that gurning at you 24/7?

bauble99 · 06/12/2005 20:36

Posts X. You resisted.

Mincepiedermama · 06/12/2005 20:38

What a relief for you Hunker.

coribells · 06/12/2005 20:49

That must be a relief. One less thing to worry about, one step closer to having the birth you want.

expatinscotland · 06/12/2005 20:50

YAY, HUNKER! That's fab news.

AwayInAMunker · 06/12/2005 21:00

Marsy, you're not trying all that hard

Oops, yes, will try with getting lots of rest - am in a delusional late pg state that has forgotten about newborn babies and their sleep (or lack of it!).

Bubble, no, honestly, not a peek. Was amazed by how clear seeing a later scan was though.

Cori, am definitely relieved - but they did say that they'd rather not let me go over 40 weeks as the placenta can deteriorate after that with having diabetes. Will have to get the pineapple and curry out and persuade DH he does fancy heavily pregnant women Hope your pregnancy's going well.

Spidermama! You have a festive name! I love it!

EPIS - was thinking about you the other night and wondering how long till you were due - can't be long now!

Carol Vorderman?

Carol Smilie?

Abi Titmuss?

Rebecca Loos?

PMSL you nutter! How's the new house?

MarsyChristmas · 06/12/2005 21:06

Lovely lovely lovely.

It looks much better than when the MNetters came to stay lol.

I've only completed 2 rooms so far (excluding the bathrooms that needed nothing lol).

I've sorted the kitchen, though DT2 keeps unpacking the blimming cupboards. May need to get locks.

I've also sorted DD1's bedroom. When she first saw it it was an empty box. Now it is a pink and white box with a lovely daybed with feather and flower lights and a fabulous pink beaded lightshade.

Am working on the lounge... which will be toy-free.

Slowly, slowly losing the boxes.

mears · 06/12/2005 21:10

Congratulations Hunker

hunkersnafumunker · 06/12/2005 21:19

We are jolly relieved too, otherhunkerperson (whoever you are)

ISawFrannyandZooeyKissingSanta · 06/12/2005 21:24

Hunker, great news! Now make sure it stays that way (lots of scrubbing floors good for optimal positioning)

Twiglett · 06/12/2005 21:24

so its bumping your peehole is it sneaky?

snark

mawbroon · 06/12/2005 22:23

Hunker- great news. I read your post about your baby being breech not long after I got home from having a c section for my breechie who was well and truly stuck with one leg at his head and the other tucked in below. I didn't post at the time because it was probably not what you needed to hear! Lets hope that your wee one stays put until the big day!
