Just need to share as I am driving myself nuts!! I am 37 weeks today and woke up at 2.30am which a very sharp pain to the side of my bump which I had to breathe through. It coincided with a BH contraction. I lay there thinking oh goodness I am not ready for this!! Then I started timing things as I couldn't get back to sleep because the tightenings and period type pains were coming every 5 mins and lasting 30 secs. Not painful as such, but uncomfortable.

After an hour I needed the loo and lets say I cleared my bowels out Blush. I was awake for a further 2 hours before finally dropping off. I woke up at 7 still with the tightenings, just the same as before, which are still going now. I haven't had a show but have, er, done more bowel clearing.

Any ideas? This is my third so I should know really, but both my previous labours started with my waters breaking and then nothing for 12 hours before labour started in earnest.

I need to go to Tesco - dare I venture out?? DH doesn't believe things might be starting and we have a decorator coming tomorrow. I am planning a homebirth and all DH can say is wait until after the room has been painted Confused!!

Sorry this is so long, I am feeling a bit edgy!

Nothing at all is happening. What is it about evenings that sets off the BHs? They're starting to be quite period-achy as well. Could be imagining it, or it could be an excess of roast beef last night...

Highlandgirl · 20/02/2011 21:09

Hello my fellow..endurance racers!! Isn't this fun Hmm Smile

cocoa I do wonder if our minds now start to play tricks on us?

BUnder excess food at this stage is a must, surely the only thing to do is eat..fuel our bodies.

Nope i've had sodding nothing...a few pains but nothing like this morning...had a few (cough cough) fanny aches! pressure pains etc. Just wonder if I should have a bath?

Currently laughing at Top Gear...!! IMO one of the coolest jobs in the world. Even if those boys are total wallys..Envy

cocoachannel · 20/02/2011 22:33

BUnder, I know what you mean about the evenings/ excess roast beef etc.

Why couldn't baby related discomfort/pain be in a different area so it can't be confused with indigestion, wind etc.!?

slowangels1 · 21/02/2011 08:26

Right, I'm off to the hospital to hopefully be induced today (hides behind a pillow for fear of being attacked). STILL no baby despite being convinced I was at the start of labour AGAIN last night.

Have to go to hospital and wait all day to see if they can 'fit me in' for induction - so lots of nervous hanging around - there must be a more relaxing/stress free way of doing these things....

StrangewaysHereICome · 21/02/2011 08:34

Good luck slow. Goodness you are right there should be a better way of doing things, waiting around all day will be nerve wracking for you. I hope you have news soon. Thinking of you x

Bunder I overdid tea last night and suffered from lack of room. The pressure didn't push the baby out though!

How are we all this mornin? I had lots of BH's and period type cramps in the night from 2am til 4am - eased off now. But now I am knackered and have two children at home to entertain Smile. Maybe if i stop obsessing, something will happen - a watched pot never boils so they say Wink. DH has gone to work, saying he's given up listening to me Biscuit Grin!

Very uneventful night for me after an evening of BHs and twinges. Didn't even have to get up in the night for the loo.

Off to meet my NCT group this
morning so can at least moan chat babies with them! Maybe seeing the couple of babies who have already arrived will get the oxytocin going!

Looking forward to hearing your news slowangels - good luck!

Highlandgirl · 21/02/2011 09:00

Ohhhh slow this is amazing..but yes I hiding behind a pillow for you too! Please keep us posted..very exciting. Lets hope they don't keep you waiting too long. Smile

Strangeways I take my hat off to you, 2 children and about to pop..not much fun at all, not surprised your knackered.

I'm having a bugger, dam and blast morning today..nothing has sodding happened. Swot. I have no idea why I'm disappointed, I'm not even due for 3 days yet. A few cramps and lower back pain but that's it..after yesterday events I was really hoping that baby might decide that after nearly 40 weeks Hotel Uterus would of lost it's charm. Clearly not..

Highlandgirl · 21/02/2011 09:03

Oh cocoa i feel your pain...

2 NCT babies born last week, within 24hrs of each other. One of the girls, start to finish just over 6 hours..OMG! The other was a c/s. Another c/s today...getting very Envy with all these yummy babies....I wait one (off she stomps) xx

irishqueen · 21/02/2011 16:03

budge over guys ...i need in! 38+4 with baby no 3 (partners first and 5 yrs since last pg)and this little monkey wasnt even engaged last week. My other 2 were born at 39+2 and 39+4 so i'm getting impatient.
I have nearly run out of the rasp leaf tea and am determined not to buy another box. I have today purchased the old pineapple although rather than eat it maybe I should sit on it lol. Braxton hicks but no pain.
My last labour was 1 hr 31 and my partner has to go to a meeting tomorrow 2 hrs away so tonight would be nice.
I have had enough waiting now grrrrr

Jupiter118 · 21/02/2011 16:05

Hello ladies - waves to all. Disappointed to see no babies!! I restrained myself from posting this weekend, but thought i would pop back today.

Angels hope you have been induced by now. I was with DS it worked really well - pace up and down lots to get things moving.

strangeways 2 other children - my sympathies to you. I have 1, but for the time being he is still in FT nursery (thank god as I feel rubbsh).

Nothing happening here other than a continuation of the cramps, BHs (which are so horrid), the pain now spreading to my bum and thighs. I also have the (cough) fanny aches, but no sign of anything happening. Lost a bit more plug on Sat, but nothing since. Still have the unease, today overwhelming tiredness and yesterday crying for no reason at all Confused - not very like me, but it was like a tap I couldn't turn off.

Have hospital Thur for a growth scan and cons appt. We'll see then.

Duckmum - steroids at 29w - scary.

Right going back to bed for another catnap before DH and DS get home. Then must summon the energy for preggers yoga as at least it will be relaxing.

Wishing arrivals for you!!!!!

Paula30CWR · 21/02/2011 16:17

Can I also join in???

I'm 40+1 and I'm due on Thursday but there are absolutely no signs of little one coming (first one). Is this common?

I know first babies can be a bit late but not having any symptons...no BH, no show, no pains at all...baby moves as if he was sooooo comfy.. hehehhee...

What is happening???

Highlandgirl · 21/02/2011 16:44

Stomp stomp stomp, grump grump grump...

2 of my friends have had babies today...Shock Envy Shock whist i've very happy for them..sodding hell baby hurry the fuck up please.

Highlandgirl · 21/02/2011 16:55

Welcome Paula and Irishqueen plenty of room, happy to budge over, however it might take me a while..Grin

no sodding idea, I think first babies are generally late. Saying that, I know plenty of babies who have been early. Clearly just not ours.

Does rasp leaf tea work??

Oh Jupiter118 it's so annoying, i lost my plug (i think) last week and still nothing. Fanny aches really hurt and i'm feed up!

Paula30CWR · 21/02/2011 17:06

I move around, i vaccummed the car but there is no pain...NOTHING!!!

Oh God!

cocoachannel · 21/02/2011 17:08

Hi all!

Highlandgirl, I think I lost my plug last Monday. No blood just a fairly sizeable green blob Blush

Saw two of my lovely NCT friends for coffee this morning, which helped cheer me up, and have dozed in front of the television all afternoon, which I really hope won't stop me sleeping tonight.

Right, I'm off for a bowl of pineapple and mug of raspberry leaf tea.

cocoachannel · 21/02/2011 17:10

ps. Highlandgirl, I think I saw in another thread that you are also in SW London. I therefore expect to hear the squeals of pain glee when your labour starts!

cocoachannel · 21/02/2011 17:11

Paula, you vacuumed the car? I am VERY impressed!

emilie89 · 21/02/2011 17:14

can i join? i'm 39 weeks today but feel like i haven't slept for about 50 weeks due to recent uncomfortable nights that have included BH and period pain, also the more Blush stabbing pains down below!!

am fed up of being a waddling lump and can currently only fit into one pair of shoes as my feet are so swollen.

i want my baby out!!!

duckmum · 21/02/2011 20:50

Budging up and waving to all.

Just when I thought baby could not drop anymore I now feel like baby is trying to head but the way out Blush.

BH early hrs, stopped. Now having strong BH every 4 mins hmmmmm been here before though and will still be posting tommorrow having had everything settle!!!!

Jupiter I sympathise with the up and down emotions. I cannot settle and tear up over all sorts of things, hmmmm....

Hope baby on the way slow.

Highlandgirl · 21/02/2011 21:02

Cocoa yup waddling around SW London...well baby still hasn't dropped but i'm trying to channel my inner belly dancer and swigging those god dam hips..! Does the baby need to drop before things start to happend??

Emillie are you able to book yourself in for a pedi or some reflexology..might help the old feet. I went today for some reflexology..bliss. Our feet do take a beating esp at this stage..I'm sorry that you haven't been sleep very well, it's a killer. I do hope you are able to put your feet up in the afternoon and have a wee snooze.

A watched pop never boils..shall try to stop obsessing about any baby movements...which is tough, so off to enjoying a nice glass of Wine

Paula30CWR · 22/02/2011 10:13

Yes Cocoa, I vacuumed the car but I got tired and nothing happened.

Today I'm going for a good facial treatment..so I will stop forcing the situation and try to enjoy my last days!

I think it's a bit strange though. I haven't lost any plug, haven't had any contractions (nor even BH for the last few weeks). I really want to hope everything is ok... Baby moves like everyday, so i don't think there's something wrong...

Oh well!!!

Highlandgirl · 22/02/2011 10:59

Slow any news...on baby!!!??? Grin

grippingon · 22/02/2011 11:12

Remember me?! just about got time to skim read how we all are - Sidney Frederick - Sid born 18th Feb by ELCS 8lbs 6oz. Came home with him last night and promptly burst my stitches. Feel like shit, look about 200 years old however Sid is a wonderful baby, feeds well, sleeps well and poos well. How wonderful to be at home with 4 day old baby, 10 year old and 6 year old in half term with burst stitches.....almost wish it was last week again ;-) Love and luck to all xxxx

cocoachannel · 22/02/2011 12:03
