We are being quite consciously kind and caring of each other here, thanks. We will watch out for and counsel each other, and offer our support and strength. That includes questioning, scrutiny, openness, acceptance of each others views.
It does not include silencing, dismissing, or accusing each other of not being 'kind' by blindly believing, accepting, or shutting up about something of the utmost importance to us.

JungleMum40 · 30/05/2021 15:07

@TeenMinusTests but you are not ? You’re silencing the voice of people who have tried it and are then pulling them up on their experience? I suggest that you have a really hard look at yourselves,

I will be trying it, I have not been put off by your comments or how badly you have picked apart people opinions, I know I’m a good mum and I know my husband supports me in that as well. I stand by what I said.

JungleMum40 · 30/05/2021 15:09

@DoubleTweenQueen

I have tried everything so now I’m going to try this. Some of these comments have been hard not to want to reply to but I am going to be the bigger person and focus on the importance of my child’s health. Don’t knock it until you try it is all I’m saying. Especially not a company that is changing lives. Thank you that’s all I’m putting now.

TeenMinusTests · 30/05/2021 15:27

Jungle I am not silencing people! In fact, generally I have been asking questions of the users and also requesting they come back after a few months to tell us whether initial results have been sustained.

I would love it if there was a near-guaranteed method to help anxious young people. Lets hope this is it.
Then the next step would be for that method to be picked up by other practitioners and made even more widely available. Plus some controlled studies and scientific reviews.

If MN have chosen to delete posts it will be because the posters broke talk guidelines in some ways.

JungleMum40 · 30/05/2021 15:31

@TeenMinusTests

Thank you! Exactly, you can’t knock a company for getting results and helping our children get better from anxiety. You have to start somewhere don’t you.

I look forward to seeing my daughters results and hope you guys find it as useful as I know I will, maybe to gain some closure and end the heartbreak.
We all want to help our children and I certainly know as my friend is signing up as well, that we will as a family go far.

Thank you double and the others who have stayed calm through the last few posts.

Junglemum I really hope YCFF is helpful and it would be great to hear how you get on with it.

JungleMum40 · 30/05/2021 16:03

@Mibb I have stayed calm also, I’m just stating facts now!

Thank you and I’m sure all of you will follow in our footsteps.

DoubleTweenQueen · 30/05/2021 16:42

I doubt that.

JungleMum40 · 30/05/2021 16:48

Again no need for that, I’m wasting my breathe and energy! You guys carry on being how you want on here I’m done fuelling your entertainment

dappledsunshine · 30/05/2021 16:57

🤣🤣

Mibb · 30/05/2021 17:00

Ok junglemum I really don't think anyone is here for entertainment. There's no compulsion to post here. I think any company or organisation should be subject to scrutiny, whether that's CAMHS, private therapy, psychiatry or YCFF. I'm not open to being guilt tripped into shutting up if something seems off.

JungleMum40 · 30/05/2021 17:04

It’s the way you have all been with peoples experiences? You only have to read all the comments to see there is a few of you teaming together to those who are going through or have tried this? And I’m not into being bullied for having my own voice, people are opening up their hearts and you’re shutting them down ? This really is a bullying platform and not something as a mum I want to be apart of, if my daughter came across this she would be appalled.

Mibb · 30/05/2021 17:07

To the poster asking about the GDPR, as far as I'm aware there's no requirement for a small company to be registered with ICO. They should have someone responsible for data though, and should have a privacy policy that clearly sets out what data they hold, and the legal basis for doing so. This is a requirement for all companies but the rules are stricter for sensitive data (eg health data).

You should also be able to request to know all data that is held about you, and to have this data erased unless the company has a legal basis for holding this ( for example they may be required to keep some details of orders etc).

DoubleTweenQueen · 30/05/2021 17:11

@JungleMum40 Your posts smack of affiliation.
You are using highly emotive terms on a regular basis.
YCFF is mentioned nowhere other than its own website and SM.
Please stop trying to 'bully' us into accepting YCFF as a viable option, then being rude and dismissive when we don't.
Thankyou.

Mibb · 30/05/2021 17:13

I haven't seen any bullying from those questioning YCFF. But you're right to stay away from this thread if you feel that. I will keep following, and hope to hear more from those who have experience of YCFF, good or bad. It's up to each person to make up their mind about whether to sign up. Hopefully the conversations on this thread will help people make an informed choice.

JungleMum40 · 30/05/2021 17:16

@DoubleTweenQueen
You clearly have no idea what I have said have you ? Everything I have said is relevant, social media is such a horrible place to be when there is people on here like you I refuse to even listen to anything you have to say, and I think people will be able to make up their own minds on how little relevance your posts have.

DoubleTweenQueen · 30/05/2021 17:17

Please - no-one put themselves into debt for this! Have seen a GoFundMe page :(

Informed choice relies on verifiable independent information. I have found none so far.

JungleMum40 · 30/05/2021 17:21

@DoubleTweenQueen

Do you have anything else to do apart from stop people from forming their own opinion and finding things to go off? If you don’t want to help people, why are you on here posting irrelevant things ?

Mibb · 30/05/2021 17:24

Earlier in the thread, I mentioned that a few bad reviews on Trustpilot don't necessarily put me off a company, but the company's answers to reviews are very telling. I'm just going to put below this answer from YCFF to a bad review on Trustpilot:

"Are you able to to advise in what context you write such profanity ?
We have been unable to find any information on you that would suggest you have even made an enquiry - Your name is NOT on our database or registered as having any contact with us except here on the Trust Pilot review with your 2 friends.
Your comments (and those of your chums below) of Scam and Pyramid selling are in high contempt of the law and will be dealt with accordingly.
Trust Pilot will remove your comments from causing more grievous harm but for the meantime I would suggest anyone reading these ignorant comments takes a moment to watch some of the real, genuine congruent footage on our website and make your own judgement.
Hannah and the other two fake reviews have blocked children who so badly need help and whose parents so desperately want to take action from getting the help they need. So Hannah I hope you feel proud.

How does anyone on this thread stop people from “forming their own opinion”? Confused

It’s a thread started by a poster trying to decide whether to go for it. There’s opinions on both sides, from people who are sceptical or cautious, and people who think it’s a great programme.

No one’s being hateful, no one’s saying it definite won’t work - but people on a public message board are allowed to post opinions.

No one’s following anyone around social media bullying them. This thread exists if people come looking for information, that’s all. It’s not bullying in any way.

GoodButNaughty · 30/05/2021 17:28

As a step-mum to teens with anxiety I can see why the process likely works (as I understand it with the limited information available/provided). Anything with this level of attention, focus and self-reflection is likely to be effective in ameliorating anxiety (and possibly other things, such as OCD).

What I have an issue with is:

The dodgy marketing tactics which are too numerous to list.
The claims suggesting (among other things):

  • that other approaches don’t work (they do for some depending on a number of relevant factors)
  • if this approach doesn’t work for you it’s due to you / your child not putting in the effort (this can be said of all approaches!)
  • that £5k or £2k or whatever it costs (as it’s not transparent) is a reasonable cost (it’s not; it’s expensive! It appears to be priced based on what you can afford!
The lack of transparency- there is a privacy policy on their site which is a copy and paste job with no relevant information.

The company (Tomwill Holdings ltd) find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/11061956/officers is relatively new with Martin and Samantha Robins listed as Directors (this is all free information available to anyone who cares to look).

I can find no listing with the ICO and they would have to be registered as they are handling data (they even mention a database in a trustpilot response!). I strongly advise anyone who has been unhappy with this company to contact them in writing to make an SAR (subject access request). I plan to do this for my friend but am still trying to find out who the Data Controller is. I’ve asked another friend to contact them on social media (incidentally she is a therapist and agrees that their approach looks interesting but their business practices look unethical!).

Can anyone using them find out who their data controller is please?

JungleMum40 · 30/05/2021 17:30

My husbands asked me to come off of this as it is not even worth my time!
We’re doing what we think is right for our family and are willing to try everything out there! As for people supporting bad negative comments, shame on you. This is very very hurtful, I am very upset with what you mums have said, so many people need help! We’re going to go for it, don’t make me feel bad for trying to help my child!

NoSquirrels · 30/05/2021 17:31

No one is trying to make you feel bad for helping your child, Jungle. No one. That’s the spin you’re putting on this thread and the responses, which are all focused on the company, not on you.

I hope it is successful.

JungleMum40 · 30/05/2021 17:34

@NoSquirrels
But they are not people trying to pray on innocent people they are generally trying to help, that’s like me saying let’s get rid of the therapists, I studied at university, got my degree and now have beautiful children or will have once my other one is born, why would you waste your time trying to knock a company who is helping, what is the world coming too. I’m baffled.

Mibb · 30/05/2021 17:38

GoodButNaughty You've put it very well. I can also see how this level of support could be very helpful. They also screen out families for whom it won't work. I worry about all the things you've mentioned, as well as the very reactive replies on trustpilot and some of the techniques I've seen in the videos on the site which appear quite manipulative.

If it's not clear who is responsible for data, then they should respond if you contact their CEO, or any contact address. I'm not sure as a small company if they have to be registered with ICO. They say they have 35 employees which would make them an SME. Don't quote me on that though!
