Amazon Black Friday deals on car seats

Since I am a bit of a geek at this Blush I decided to look through the amazon Black Friday deals and see which ones are decent.

Infant carriers/bases
For babies from birth up to approx 1 year (depending on baby and seat!) Many are travel system compatible.

Maxi Cosi FamilyFix 2
£109, normally £150
Base is compatible with Maxi Cosi infant seats: Pebble Pro, Pebble Plus, Rock, Tinca
And Maxi Cosi toddler seats: Pearl Pro, Pearl Pro 2, Pearl Smart
These are all good seats and well safety tested. You don't need the base with the infant carrier, but it's a nice convenience feature to have.

Graco SnugEssentials
£67, normally £80

Good budget infant carrier. The base if you get it as well is especially good for cars with sloped seats.
It's NOT compatible with most pushchairs though, only Graco ones.

Hauck Comfort Fix with base
£109, normally £130
Great price for a seat with an isofix base included. Again only compatible with Hauck pushchairs.

Extended rear facing seats - for after the infant carrier
Suitable from birth or from ~6 months to around 3-4 years, depending on child height.

Cosatto All in All+
£150, normally £200
I deliberated over including this, because I don't normally recommend all-in-one seats or this seat specifically, but it is rear facing up to 18kg and this is a really popular brand. It's not my favourite, the brand has had poor crash test results in the past, I don't know that the high backed booster mode is up to much but it is isofix and has a support leg which are generally good things for performance. And for the price, it's actually not a bad option. Note that in rear facing mode you can only use the seat in a reclined position.
(Compare with Graco Turn2me, Joie Stages, Joie Tilt)

Maxi Cosi Pearl Smart
£150, normally £200
A good buy if you already have the base. If you don't have the base, look at rotating seats instead where the base is built in. Compatible with the Maxi Cosi FamilyFix 2, FamilyFix 3, 2WayFix and 3WayFix bases.

Britax Dualfix Z-line
£270, normally £300
Really good rotating option.

123 seats - Forward facing with 5 point harness, converting to high back booster using adult seatbelt.
Although there are a lot of these seats on the market, very few of them are actually any good, so I've left most of them out. These are good for if your toddler still needs a 5 point harness but will be booster age before too long, and their current seat needs to be used by a younger sibling. Not ideal for immediately after the baby seat, as they are forward facing and tend to be bigger proportioned so don't fit 1yos very well. You can get larger rear facing seats, but none are in the Amazon sale.

Britax Evolva
£75, normally £100
Good solid budget option fitting with seatbelt. 5 point harness to 18kg.

Britax Advansafix M
£180, normally £200
Harness can be used up to 21kg (although bizarrely limited to 102cm). Easy to switch between booster and 5 point harness mode and has an extra strap between the legs for booster mode. Uses isofix and top tether.

Recaro Young Sport Hero
£135, normally £150
Another belt fitted option. 5 point harness to 18kg.

High backed booster seats
The last kind of seat that routes the adult seatbelt for a child. From approx 4 years until children no longer need a car seat.

Maxi Cosi Tanza
£85 normally £100
Fairly standard booster seat of good quality.

Britax Kidfix Z-line
£120 normally £140-170
Great price if you want the lap belt strap feature and energy absorbing pad for shoulder belt.

Hope that is helpful :)

I think Rear Facing Toddlers have the Max Way Plus offer too as I saw it on their FB page.

It's a truly great price for the MWP especially with premium fabric. Never seen it that low. I expect they are clearing out stock but still.

This is such a great post. Thank you!

I've been eyeing some up but not sure which one to go for.

My son is 8 months and his weights at 75th centile and height is at 50th centile.

He's currently approx 10kg.
We have a Vauxhall Meriva with the opposite opening rear doors. I was really keen on getting the Axkid Minikid as it's ERF to 25kg and there was an option to have him in the front too when needed. ERF to 18kg doesn't sound like a good option to me due to his high centiles.

Are there any good ERF to 25kg seats that work well in the Meriva? I'd have loved a spin seat due to the way the doors open but understand this doesn't come in 25kg seats. Would really like to buy in the sales if possible.

TIA!

Sorry forgot to mention that I'd read a lot of posts on car seat advice UK Facebook page about the axkid minikid being really awkward in the meriva hence the question

I would do a search on car seat advice for Meriva, as I bet people will have asked the same thing before. It's not something I have experience of. Other than that I would look on Axkid's website and see if there is a stockist near you, maybe you can check different seats in the car before the offer ends at the end of the week?

Another option is if you plan to have another child you could always get a spin for now and upgrade child 1 to a 25kg when their younger sibling needs the spin seat. By which time they will be older and can climb in themselves.
