Hard Lymph Node Armpit

Jellybean1994 · 06/01/2025 15:06

I notice a hard movable oval shaped lymph node in my armpit just under 2 weeks ago, I have an appointment at the breast clinic on Thursday and feel so scared it is something sinister. Looking for some positive stories, I suffer from really bad health anxiety and this is pushing me over the edge

How scary for you. Breast clinic is the best thing for you to get this sorted. Thursday must seen an age away. Hopefully it’s nothing serious. Lots of hugs and positive thoughts coming your way.

Wafflesandsyrup · 06/01/2025 19:39

I had this and it turned out to be some sort of tissue. It's a good sign that it is movable. The unknown is scary but there's lots of lymph nodes in that area and the chances are that's all it is. Hope it all goes well Thursday.

I also have a hard lump in my armpit, I saw the dr and she's referred me for a scan, should this be under the 2 week pathway? Try not to worry though I know it's hard not to, good luck on Thursday

Jellybean1994 · 07/01/2025 06:11

@memememe I am not sure, from reading different posts on here it seems some are and some are not referred on the 2 weeks pathway. Do you mind me asking how your lump feels? Mine is oval, firm and moves when I push it. I am sick to death with worry x

@Mum4MrA @Wafflesandsyrup thank you both. Hopefully it turns out to be nothing! I just want Thursday done now, the wait is horrific x

Smooth and mobile are usually good signs. But unfortunately you won’t know until you are seen. Not all lumps are due to cancer. Please try to distract yourself otherwise you will be in bits. Keep posting here if it helps. We will support you 💐💐

I've just got a letter booking me for an ultrasound on mon 20th. Not at t(e breast clinic like I thought it would be.

Mine is hard and smooth but doesn't move. It's like a baked bean. It doesn't hurt either. Try not to worry, impossible I know.

Jellybean1994 · 07/01/2025 13:01

@memememe I would say mine is also like a baked bean shape, sometimes feels hard but not all the time! Did your dr think it was a lymph node? Hopefully both of ours are nothing! X

Thinking of you all. I’m going through similar and it’s making me so anxious! I’m still waiting on my clinic appointment coming through, was only referred yesterday, but I keep feeling calm and then terrified! Hope your appointment goes well!

Jellybean1994 · 07/01/2025 16:29

@Misspacorabanne I feel exactly the same, fingers crossed you get a speedy appointment! Here if you need to chat etc x

My dr didn't really comment at all, just felt both boobs then said she'll refer me. Fingers crossed for both of us!

clarepetal · 07/01/2025 17:25

I'm been referred to the breast clinic for lumps twice. Both times were fine.
Something like 80% of their referrals are non cancerous. Fingers crossed for you.

I have 2 that feel exactly the same as that, also smooth. They are also a bit tender when I do touch and move them.

Jellybean1994 · 07/01/2025 19:22

@clarepetal thank you for your message. This forum is definitely helping me atm! X

I had this it was a reaction to anti perspirant deodorant, stopped using it and the lymph nodes went down
