For a family of 5?

I have a mate that can get me a really REALLY good deal on quality tents.

What layout? Bedrooms? Size? Other things to think about?

Was thinking about Khyam but there just seems so many tents out there I just dont know?

A teepee? Really??

I am really not sure about the carpets thing you know. Seems wrong somehow.

What about a Khyam? Anyone got one?

Have got a better idea - 4* hotel, top room service and a pillow menu ;)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/04/2008 22:58

i'd get some super mount everest expedition tent thingy that could withstand hurricane winds.
with room for a table!

I've posted this loads, but I just wanted to post something different to the Outwell global domination- we have a Vango Aspen 700 deluxe and it is lovely, and sturdy and has a wardrobe area, large sig area, large porch area for cooking, boots, pram etc. It is also a 3 season tent. I think it's been replaced by this one now, but it looks very similar.
It's not a 10 minute pitch, though!

Go Outdoors has a tipi in it's new catalogue here

Slubberdegullion · 17/04/2008 08:37

money no object........?

really dreamy dream land fantasy island tent?

why are you talking about nylon tents and carpets?????

You would be wanting the Rolls Royce of Tents.
That is such a rubbish photo in the link, but the Cabanon brochure at the bottom of the page is just the best quality tent porn there is.

Slubberdegullion · 17/04/2008 08:55

Or some completely and utterly gorgeous De Waard tents look at the tentencollection (or summat) bit.

I do not understand Dutch, but just looking at the watercolour pictures makes me feel happy inside.

I believe you would probably have to remortgage your house to buy one though

Slubberdegullion · 17/04/2008 09:13

oopsie daisy. here are the de waard tents

Slubberdegullion · 17/04/2008 10:50

dh likes the new version of the khyam classic, the version with the sig (the harewood). i would have to choose between the new outwell wolf lake, and the top of the range nomad makonde air (with annexe).

still love my ontario though

Peachy · 17/04/2008 10:55

ah yes luce, allowed carpets when you'll be camping with an 8 week old (scary!!)

Slubberdegullion · 17/04/2008 10:57

How is your new LO Peachy?

Peachy · 17/04/2008 13:36

He's doing lovely Slubber- gorgeous (smitten? oi? )

pinkyminky · 17/04/2008 13:46

I'd love a yurt, too. My Dh learned how to build them once, but they aren't a quick pitch! Perhaps in our fantasy, the tent would come with a team of young men to put the tent up for us?
