We have 10 night booked in early July in Wales so lovely long days to look forward to.

Anyone else got any camping trips booked already?

Yes, we've just booked! We're doing 5 nights in South Wales and 5 nights in Norfolk. We've never camped for more than 3 nights so bit nervous but looking forward to it!

JenniferAllisonPhillipaSue · 08/01/2023 14:11

Not yet, but already looking - also at (North) Wales for ten days in late June / early July, plus trying to book something more local for the coronation weekend and no doubt to visit relatives during the school hols.

PritiPatelsMaker · 08/01/2023 14:11

That sounds lovely @BraveMaeve! I take it that the two trips aren't back to back? I'm not sure I'd fancy the trip from South Wales to Norfolk?

They're in the same 2 week period but with a long weekend in between. It just made sense trying to fit family visits in.

The Wales camping has some great cycle rides nearby so looking forward to that part, will be lovely having the long (hopefully warm) days again 😀

I'm looking forward to cycling and maybe some paddle boarding too Wink

I'm trying to book around bank holidays to avoid using annual leave so have booked 3 nights for the second May bank holiday in the Lake District. We will have an 18m old by then so my husband has insisted electric hook up (I wasn't going to bother) and i don't want everything to go!

Want to go away the August bank holiday too

PritiPatelsMaker · 10/01/2023 17:11

We used to camp without EHU but now the DC are teens I think they'd faint without it! Grin

We've booked four nights in Dorset at the start of school hols. Great decompression by the seaside! 🏕

yaflouloci · 11/01/2023 16:20

A week in the Cairngorns in June.
A week In Pembrokeshire in September.

All other trips will be booked nearer the time for 2/3 night breaks and will include North Wales, The Lakes, Peak Distruct and Forest of Bowland (these are all 'local')

I'm cheating thought - this is our first year with a caravan!

PuttingDownRoots · 11/01/2023 16:26

Weve earmarked two weekends in February and April with location, not sure if booked yet. (DH organising)

Trying to decide on main trip... we were thinking North East this year (Yorkshire or up that coastline towards Berwick) We want a beach with fossils and inland opportunities for paddleboarding and canoeing if anyone has any ideas

Herbie0987 · 11/01/2023 16:35

We are going to Holland in May, Weston Super Mare in June and see whatever turns up.

lovelilies · 11/01/2023 16:55

We're going to camp bestival in august 😊

helpfulperson · 11/01/2023 18:10

4 nights in Keswick at Easter. Can't wait.

Filterphobia · 11/01/2023 19:27

We have a campervan and I’ve booked lots already. We have trips to Yorkshire dales, Peak District, several trips in North Wales, August bank hol in Gower, 6 nights in Cheddar, 10 nights in Cornwall all booked.

North Wales is our local go to spot for weekends. Would anyone else who has booked North Wales share some the sites they have booked or would recommend?

I'd be interested in that too Wink

We have 3 booked! Cambridge way for 5 days in May, 11 nights in Cornwall in August and Woodhall Spa in August too. Very excited! Buying a new tent in February too. After a few successful camps with our LO in our old tent that we went in as a couple, we’ve decided to take the plunge and get a big, family tent upgrade!

PritiPatelsMaker · 12/01/2023 08:10

That is exciting @Noimaginationforaun. Are you looking to buy at the Camping Show in Birmingham?

We are! Have our eye on the Vango Ventanas II Air TC 650XL Airbeam but excited about seeing what else in on offer!

@Filterphobia @PritiPatelsMaker

North Wales

www.coastalview-camping-conwy-northwales.co.uk/

Great spot for Conwy and has spectacular views.

yaflouloci · 12/01/2023 14:43

North Wales - also here

www.aberafon.co.uk/

Great location for Canaerfon and direct access to the beach.

PritiPatelsMaker · 12/01/2023 14:50

We bought out from there a few years ago @Noimaginationforaun and got a good deal. Plus it's a great day out Wink

@yaflouloci what the noise like from the A55 on the Conwy site?

The site is set back high up you can't hear anything.

That's good to know. I might get a long weekend booked Wink

So far I have booked (with campervan) two festivals and also two other long weekends on the south coast:

  • Easter weekend in Dorset: no diesel heater so slightly worried that I might be a bit cold. 🥶
  • Early May bank holiday weekend in West Sussex.

I'm hoping to go to Wales for a week in August but cannot book until closer to the time, as it's dependent on the health of a family member and the availability of other family members to care for them while I'm away.
