If I didn’t have my beloved Weber Go Anywhere I would get this as my camping BBQ. V sturdy, the charcoal pan lifts out, good grill surface, no food falling though the bars!
Legs fold.

Looks lovely. Sadly I already have far too many (including the Weber Go Anywhere).

Same here. I can think of no reason why I need to buy this, just because it looks well designed.

Unless my Uni aged Dc need their own kit? Perhaps? Wink

Meanwhile do I need a tripod as well as my campfire grill that sticks in the ground? Do I need a Cobb? A Ridgemonkey (in addition to my pie iron)?

I've now had to Google campfire grill, ridgemonkey and pie iron! And I am now wondering if I need them too. I do have the Cobb (it was a bargain buy in a secondhand shop - used only once and included 2 boxes of cooking stones). I also recently picked up a fire pit with BBQ grill from local recycling centre (I had to smuggle it into the house). Smile And there's more..... Blush

My campfire grill is from this range. Very sturdy and easy to adjust the height of the grill over the fire. I use mine over a fire on the ground and over a low fire pit www.campfirecookinggrill.co.uk/

I have the Rebel Grill www.campfirecookinggrill.co.uk/grill.html

Pie Irons are great . Good for toasties, but you can also use them with ready roll pastry and make sweet or savoury pies, cook sausages in them etc.

Have you got a Dutch Pot?

That grill looks very interesting... I haven't seen one of those before.

I haven't got a Dutch Pot. A friend has one. I don't think I need one... the kids don't do stews. I am now on the lookout for a pie iron (it will have to be smuggled in).

You definitely don't need a Dutch Pot @Popuptent .... but we have made a roast chicken, chocolate brownies, a pineapple upside down cake and choc chip cookie cake in ours. Just saying.... Wink .But yes, a pie Iron would be easier to smuggle in and I think you could make cookies in them.

(you really don't need a Dutch Oven if you have a Cobb)

I have one of those ikea things its fab so definitely worth buying for your friends and family...packs small works well as a bbq and also a small firepit....I bought on a camping gadget whim and love it...

Popuptent · 02/04/2022 22:08

Yes, I was just going to say that we have the Cobb if we need to roast a chicken! I'm now looking forward to the first BBQ of the year!

Popuptent · 02/04/2022 22:11

Oh no! Now I want the Ikea one so that I can also use it as a small fire pit! What a good idea! I hadn't thought of that. It will have to be smuggled in of course! Wink

Zazdar · 02/04/2022 22:22

I spotted this one that folds away virtually flat. My husband says he will make a copy for me.

When he gets around to it.

That looks well cool! I love camping equipment!

Zazdar · 02/04/2022 23:32

I think the rubber chop was extra.

Popuptent · 03/04/2022 08:41

And no expense spared with the fake fire! I could spend a whole day browsing in that shop!

Zazdar · 03/04/2022 10:03

Here’s a better view of the fire… and the rubber chop. The shop is a bit of an Aladdin’s cave with all kinds of stuff just plonked down in no particular order.

Excellent rubber chop and realistic fire retail display.

I am also interested in what looks like a yellow cooler in that picture.

Can we have a group outing to this marvellous shop?

Canvas transit bag is also of interest.

Can we have a group outing to this marvellous shop?

It might take a bit of organising…

How are we going to smuggle back all our purchases?

A proper expedition! The cookware section is marvellous. I see there is a donut shop nearby so we can have a quick snack after our journey.

Or I might just emigrate.

@Popuptent

How are we going to smuggle back all our purchases?
In the boot of each other’s cars.

“Oh it’s not mine, it belongs to some MNer”.

Or… have it all delivered directly to the campsite?

Remove the spare wheel and stash in the fabulous new stuff instead?

Popuptent · 03/04/2022 18:34

I'm going to need something larger than a car!

Zazdar · 03/04/2022 19:52

This is probably the closest equivalent to Go Outdoors...

www.bcf.com.au/

Zazdar · 03/04/2022 20:03

Actually, that Bentley store has changed hands since I was last in there. The original shop, Ranger Outdoors, has moved down the road...

This is not helping my camping equipment addiction!
