Someone tell me which tent to buy from these 3, before I completely lose my mind

I sold our airbeam because dh hates camping and it was too big and heavy. So I have £400 cash to spend, but I'd quite like some left over to buy extra bits.

I have narrowed my search on local selling sites to:

  1. Vango Icarus 500- comes with carpet and extension (but ext has missing pole and small tear)packs to 70 x 25 £120
  1. Outwell nevada m - comes with footprint and carpet, sewn groundsheet had small hole which has been repaired with tape. £150
  1. Outwell Minnesota- comes with extension canopy. Has steel poles, so much stronger, but pack size bigger than other two slightly 80cm x 49cm, but still half the size of old tent.

I have researched, I have read reviews, I am sending myself a little bit mad. Tell me what to do.

The Vango Catalina has a ‘linked in’ groundsheet rather than sewn in. I.e the groundsheet in tne living area stops where the bedroom inner tent starts.

This will completely out me so I'll have to name change. My dad called a while ago, I'd told my mum all about it over phone. He says tomorrow he's going to buy a tent. For me. Technically it'll be there's and I'm borrowing it. But I'll have a tent.

I'm 37, I don't ever ask my parents to bail me out. I cried. He told me not to be daft.

Aww that's great - sort of thing my dad would do. Have a lovely time away.

Aw, your lovely dad!
Before you lose faith entirely I bought an Outwell from eBay 5/6 years ago and it's been great, it started to leak last year for which I bought a roof protector that seems to solve the problem. It was a Montana 6. I have always been careful about putting it away dry and have seen no mound whatsoever.
Love camping!!

@SalveGrumio check out @Haggisfish brilliant offer! 😀

SalveGrumio · 23/08/2018 19:30

@Haggisfish that is an amazing offer. Sorry I've had a crazy day, spent quite a lot of it driving or in a place with no signal!

I did mention it to my dad, he wants one for them to use and come camping with us next year.

Such a wonderful offer Haggis. Maybe I'll but it off you when I get my refund!

No buying required-honestly, I just want rid of it! Would rather it went to a good home than the tip. I’m in West Midlands-are you drivably within 100 miles of there?

SalveGrumio · 24/08/2018 07:59

I'm in Leeds, so yes I think so.
