I don't speak Dutch and I'm also quite thick, how much are they? Are we talking in thousands? Cos much as I enjoy camping, I'd have to join the small group of slightly bemused folks. No offence, and I'm sure it's jolly nice.

Essexgirlinthemidlands · 30/07/2014 19:52

Ooh it looks lovely Envy
Hope the first erection goes well and that you have a lovely weekend Smile

Calloh · 30/07/2014 19:58

I'd never heard of them before and they are so so so beautiful that I yearn and wish that I could unknow.

I hope you have a brilliant time!

Fire Hazard!

Picnic, yy they are expensive tents, but if I look after it then not only will it last me till the end of my camping days, it will also be standing strong and dry for the lucky dc that inherits it. It's my tent for life Smile

I am a battery operated Balrog

hz · 30/07/2014 20:12

It is the tent to end all tents. It needs no adornment. You are indeed a fortunate soul. Love it for us all. Keep thinking that if I sold the campervan the cost if this tent would seem almost reasonable.... Could I afford a butler to pitch it for me too I wonder?

Hotbot · 30/07/2014 20:15

Slubber defo needs counting and fairy light shit

Tis a beaut congrats

CampingClaire · 30/07/2014 20:30

Sorry...work got in the way of DeWaard worshipping earlier and I've now had a few glasses of wine so the instructions may be a bit muddled but basically...
Roll up doors. Do front frame - along the door front - so sort of the front square and slot the joining joist/diagonal poles in - just the ones joining the front or it'll be too heavy...Hoist up and someone pegs it out roughly to hold it upright.
go inside and slot in the rest of the joists from front to where the middle pole will join. Then bring in the middle supporting pole but only the top 2/3rds of it. Attach bedroom curtains at this point and the side joists and poke it through the roof. Then attach the bottom third and slip the floor protector cup underneath.

Then stand back and grin like an idiot!!!
Now you can tweak it and hubby can start pegging to perfection (unless that is your thing but I'm not allowed near the pegging job)!!
I may need to resend this tomorrow when the wine has worn off!!
Also..def no bunting allowed but the wackiest fairly lights available are allowed!! Think circus theme! I'm still hunting for ones I'm happy with!

Hotbot · 30/07/2014 20:31

Cunting ......

Slubberdegullion · 30/07/2014 20:34

Grin Hotbot Grin

I think. I get your drift Claire, I might need to read that a few more times though. The diagonal poles will be new to us, none of those in our small pyramid, or curtains.

I may have purchased the matching carpet

picnicbasketcase · 30/07/2014 20:40

It's a tent with a carpet? Shock Okay, I'm starting to get it Grin

CampingClaire · 30/07/2014 20:43

I did spy the carpet in the pics!!! TeeHee!! I sort of half sort our carpet at the 2/3rd middle pole stage then straighten it to the sides at the end (while hubby is sorting the pegging).

Did you get the line drawing instructions with it? That is all we got but the guy in Gouda built it with us in the showroom so we sort of worked from memory too.
We also added extra colouring coding sticky labels on the poles when it was built the first time as the ones that were on it weren't that sticky and we wanted to appear dab hands at pitching it infront of people at the first French site (probably Dutch).
I'll see if I can find pics that might help!

Slubberdegullion · 30/07/2014 20:44

Thanks Claire.

Colour coding poles a great idea.

CampingClaire · 30/07/2014 20:50

Found pics but struggling to send them to my email so I can post them...damn slow broadband!!
Where are you going for your first trip? Somewhere good I hope?

Slubberdegullion · 30/07/2014 20:51

North Wales Grin

CampingClaire · 30/07/2014 20:56

Will you get loads of room to pitch? Arrange your car and kids bikes etc around the outside perimeter..you won't want anyone remotely near it!!
I'm off to walk the dog...if the photos haven't appeared tonight I'll post them at work tomorrow!

Cereal0ffender · 30/07/2014 21:04

My poles are colour coded

CampingClaire · 30/07/2014 21:22

Back from dog walk but photos still not on this laptop!!!! Ours were colour coded too but the stickers looked a bit 'unsticky'...we were REALLY worried about appearing as DeWaard Pretenders to the surrounding Dutch campers so we double stickered just in case!!
As it happened...DH gained a Dutch daddy friend who fawned over his Land Rover so we shouldn't have worried!!

Slubberdegullion · 30/07/2014 21:25

So just reinforce the de waard sticky then Claire?

We have to do a practice set up before we go (weekend after next), I too do not want to be the source of campsite amusement as amateur pitchers.
Weekend forecast is looking decidedly unhelpful.

pictish · 30/07/2014 21:27

Lovely tentage! Congratulations!!
Where are you off to in North Wales? We did a fortnight in Snowdonia two years ago and had a marvellous time, even though it rained every fucking day except one. It stayed warm and we had a great holiday.

We stayed at a lovely ramshackle site just outside Caernarfon.

Slubberdegullion · 30/07/2014 21:31

The Lleyn, as always Grin. Have been going for years now and only had to abort one camping trip due to constant rain. This year we have a variolufiel, the weather can throw at us whatever it wants.

Although, weather gods, if you are reading this, wall to wall sunshine would be just lovely thanks.

pictish · 30/07/2014 21:35

Yes...we have a new canvas canopy for this year - we loved it in July when the heavens opened and the campsite was deserted, except for us sitting out under our pretty canopy. Brilliant!

We'e off for another week on Monday and the weather isn't looking all that shiney - but we shant care...not with our awning.

pictish · 30/07/2014 22:24

And your new tent really is superb. I've been looking at the DeWaard site. Sweet! You must be so excited to get away in it!

profpoopsnagle · 30/07/2014 22:52

Lekker!
