Anyone in Somerset - whats the weather like?

I am going camping on Saturday for a week. Up here the weather hasn't been too good - whats it like down there and does anyone know what the forecast is supposed to be for next week?

My friends in Bristol said it's sunny now, but you can check the met website for regional forecasts

I'm in Bath, and it hasn't been great, although it hasn't rained too much over the past few days. V overcast now, and has been most of the day

burnham on sea. I'm keeping everything crossed - bit of a fair weather camper - don't fancy spending a week in a soggy tent!!

No Katymac - camp site not far up the road. Wish I was going to Haven - could have tried to book a caravan! I might be on here at the end of the week asking for tips for a successful camping holiday in the rain!

We got a caravan thro' Tesco (it cost us £62 for a week plus various tescos vouchers)

That sounds like a good deal Katymac. I use Tesco but only occasionally. If I did my weekly shopping there of say £50 pw do you think that would be enough to get a weeks hol next year? Do you have to exchange a certain amount of clubcard vouchers for deals like that?
Think of me with my soggy (tent) bottom next week!!

Yep it was £150 vouchers

I use Tesco CC and pay it off each month to get extra vouchers - I get about £50 a quarter

But each £10 of vouches is worth £40 of holiday so it adds up nicely

think i'll give that a try for next year. If I start shopping at Tesco and see how many points I get a month I should be able to work out if it will be worthwhile. Does their website explain about how you redeem the vouchers? do you have to book through Tesco or to to Haven?

Cashing in vouchers for Deals is really easy - you just type in the numbers on the bottom of the voucher and where you want to use them. If you're aiming to do that then make sure you sign up for their Food Club too, they send out money off/extra points vouchers in their quarterly magazine and you also get 'green' points now if you use old carrier bags instore instead of getting new ones.

Thanks LCC. Just say if you haven't got enough vouchers for the deal you want does it tell you how many more you need? sorry about all the questions but you and Katymac have given me some good tips and I LOVE a freebie/good deal.

Every £2.50 in vouchers is worth £10 in Deals, so you can cash as many as you like and then make up the balance for your holiday/day out with cash when you are booking - I think that's how it works for the holidays, I've used them for Days Out and they send you a coupon which you hand in at the gate when you're going in. They don't give you change from them so we tend to use them to pay for most of the entrance fee then top up the couple of quid that is needed iyswim.

We're saving ours at the moment to pay for next summer's ferry crossing!

No problem at all - I really hope that the weather is good for you next week - soggy camping isn't much fun at all, in a tent it always sounds much louder as well! You can think it's torrential and when you do stick your head out it's a mild drizzle

Do you have electricty and a portable DVD player? If not can you borrow them? a godsend for a wet evening!

Got electric hook up - might have to take tv/video combi - haven't got portable dvd. Its the first time using this tent as well so I hope its waterproof. I am a bit worried as I am definately a fair weather camper but because we are going in peak season I had to pay the full cost up front so I can'g not go. Thanks for all your help.
