How to do it as cheap as possible?!

Ive seen that Millets have a family starter pack for the tent... £74.99 but what else is essential? and where is cheapest?

Dont want to spend a fortune if Im not going to enjoy it, especially with 2 kids under 2!

You need strawb, for this one.

But I subscribe to the theory of, if I can't plug my hairdrier in, I 'aint going there.

bidding on some tents on ebay atm!!!
1 x 6 berth
2 x 9 berth

They are still very cheap (2 of them are still 99p!) and brand new. So will have extra space.

Can borrow airbeds from my dad - he has 1 x double and 1 x single, so would just need a travel cot for becky. Intending to take dads double sleeping bag and we already have a single sleeping bag.

Plastic backed picnic blankets - where can i get those?

Camp stove - millets have a 2 ring one for £29.99 with the folding table bit too.... can you guess what ive been doing all day!!!

Dad has just told me the co-op are selling the camping folding chairs for £4.99 each, so thats a bargain.

hmmmm....... still want to do this, but have a feeling im gonna need a trailor!!!

I know they arent anything like a Vango.... but I need to do this cheaply!! We dont know anyone with a tent we could borrow.

Trying to do this as cheap as possible to be honest..... looking at a budget of £200 for everything. (Not including food and pitch obviously!)

big thumbs up here for camping!! our kids love it... just remember to take as many fleece clothes as you can - they dry soooo much more quickly when it's wet. good luck!

I think we are going to buy the Outwell Hartford XL tent, can anyone tell me anything about it or any recommendations??

Thanks

Hayls · 29/05/2006 19:15

We bought the Argos family deal a few weeks ago and it is actually really good! Bit tricky to put up and we couldn't get it back in the bag but it'll definitely be easier next time as we know how to do it now.
(I'm ignoring the fact that it poured constantly and our 2yo dd refused to sleep until past 10pm then wouldn't go back to sleep at 2.30 until I shared a single air bed with her. I had to go back to bed when we got home the next day Sad)

Janbo25 · 29/05/2006 19:19

which site did you go to hayls??

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 29/05/2006 19:47

definately buying it - wednesday..... excited now!

getting some other essential bits this month, and the rest next month. We want to go away when hubby is off in july
