Where are you going? Is it madness to consider taking DS somewhere in the tent?

MEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

happyhorse · 22/02/2012 08:00

Me too!!!!!!!

Off to Suffolk. April is often lovely so I'm hoping for the best and taking plenty of layers for night time. I'm not going to waste an opportunity to play with my tent just because of a bit of a nip in the air :)

We are going camping in France this Easter - am really looking forward to it!

Baileyscoffeeandcampfires · 22/02/2012 09:19

Hoping to go down to west wittering for a couple of nights.

The first week we have hired a boat on the broads, will see how chilly that is first.

Quenelle · 22/02/2012 12:43

We're thinking about going to Sacrewell Farm near Peterborough. Although we might go the weekend after.

Grockle · 22/02/2012 19:45

So not just me contemplating it then. Good. I need to find somewhere local-ish to go. Anyone recommend anywhere in the south-west?

Last Easter was fabulous but much later. I think we went away the one before too. Fingers crossed for sunshine.

We are planning to go to the Hartland Peninsula - had a fab two days there last May and want to return. Need good weather though - it's a blustery place!

We're going to Longthorn's for the Easter weekend. They allow open fires in their firepits, so we're hoping for good weather and nice evenings with wine marshmallows around the fire!

Grockle · 23/02/2012 14:54

Lovecat - Longthorns looks fabulous. I might have to book that too. DS has been desperate to go back to Monkey World.

Bluddymofo... there are quite a few sites dotted around in wales that allow campfires.

Ukcampsite website has a search thingy that lets you select only sites that allow fires, amongst other things.

We went to Nantcol waterfalls at the end of last summer, it is beautiful, in the mountains but only 10mins from the sea. In fact if you walk to the top of the hill at the back of the site you can see the sea.

I meant to say, I haven't decided whether to camp at easter yet am going to wait and see what the weather is like.

Luckily I really like sites without many facilities so I don't usually have trouble booking. Dd3 likes a little play area and I like a clean loo and shower and thats about it.Grin

TheLastNameLeft · 23/02/2012 16:37

Made enquiries at Norden Farm campsite and there are availabilites for when we want to go Grin now waiting on the cattery to see if they can take the cat and we will be booking.

Mofes, get yourself some disposable BBQs to use uinstead of campfires, we found they worked a treat last time we went (hello from jinxy btw XX)

hels71 · 23/02/2012 16:47

WE are going to Norden farm in the school easter holiday......never been before but a friend has said it is nice! (If we are talking about the one near Corfe castle)

TheLastNameLeft · 23/02/2012 16:52

NannyPlumIsMyMum · 23/02/2012 16:55

I love camping - you have just inspired me to plan one for the Easter hols !
April is always great weather .

Lucycat · 23/02/2012 17:25

Not sure yet - we had such amaziing weather in Anglesey last year that's it very tempting - it was cold at night though so the hot water bottles were important. I'm waiting to see the forecast first.

sneakybeak · 25/02/2012 10:07

We are! Sandy Balls - yay! Snuggie at the ready!

MrsMc82 · 25/02/2012 15:31
