Guaging interest in a MN camp??

Just guaging (that doesnt look as if it's spelt right??) interest really before we think about sorting this out or not.
The tent porn thread threw up the possibility of our opening some of the farm up for a bit of a camp-fest for the August bank holiday Fri-Mon. We are based in the SE, about 8 miles from the coast, about 1 1/2 hours from London. We have a 150 acre mixed farm in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are fields we could use, and there are streams and woods which children could play in (although it is not an 'official' site, so care would need to be taken with usual farm related stuff, high banks, etc)
We could get drinking water to the camping area, although you would need to have water carriers. We would probably have to rely on a chemical toilet unfortunately unless 'our man' can build me a couple more composting ones! We could knock up a few 'communal' open fires as well (we need to put metal underneath to protect the ground) anyone with their own portable fire pit would be more than welcome to use it. We have firewood and locally made charcoal. We can also source Gordon Ramsay's recommended sausages! (the butcher keeps his animals on our farm) and burgers as well as award winning bread. In fact most food could be pre-ordered!
So.... is it a goer or not?

Oh sounds great fun! My friend went on a Babymamas one (earth mother forum, not for us lot....) and I was a wee bit jealous. Long way for me to come but a maybe. Good idea, and you're very brave Smile

PredictableDullard · 21/06/2011 18:21

aren't you nice! to far for me but sounds lovely

Indith · 21/06/2011 18:22

If I lived closer I would love to do that! It sounds fantastic.

GingerWrath · 21/06/2011 19:25

Same here, sounds great but I am too far away!

Lovecat · 21/06/2011 19:41

Yes, it sounds wonderful. And you are very brave!

I'm up for it, I have my own firepit and kampa khazi.... would probably just be me and DD though, would leave DH at home as he has to be in Paris early Monday.

MisSalLaneous · 21/06/2011 20:34

It sounds lovely, so yep, count me in (+dh and ds aged 3) if this goes ahead, please NettleTea. :)

Bearcrumble · 21/06/2011 21:15

This sounds amazing. I'd be totally up for it.

YellowDinosaur · 21/06/2011 23:07

Probably too far for me for a weekend unfortunately - sounds amazing adn hope you all have a fantastic time!

lisad123 · 21/06/2011 23:27

sounds great can i come anyways :)

LoopyLoopsBettyBoops · 21/06/2011 23:29

Oooooh! Would have to persuade DH (not the camping bit, the MN element!) but I'm really keen if it's an open invitation?

bumpybecky · 21/06/2011 23:44

I would love to, but we're already booked elsewhere that weekend. Sounds fab though

citybranch · 22/06/2011 01:48

Definitely interested! We're new to camping but would love to join in.

SeaShellsHasSandInHerShoes · 22/06/2011 10:01

We are definitely up for it (dh plus 2 v young children)

I might be able to drool over your bell tents too!

Actually, maybe I could get a tent as a return to work present for me?!!

SeaShellsHasSandInHerShoes · 22/06/2011 10:06

I am excited already lol!

Anyone spotted slubber and peachy recently? Ill try to pm them but I always spell slubber wrng!!

Peachy · 22/06/2011 12:19

Hello and thanks for PM seashell

Sadly we are already away BH weekend (C&CC NFOL if anyone is going) but otherwise we would have loved to come.

Loopy DH went to the one a few eyars back and enjoyed it.

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 22/06/2011 12:22

There is no way I'd go camping with a bunch of mn'ers on a Friday night Grin

notwavingjustironing · 22/06/2011 12:57

Seashells

Slubberdegullion is what you need.

SeaShellsHasSandInHerShoes · 22/06/2011 13:07

Thanks, just slubber worked for pm but I have a feeling she is a northerner
(definition of northern-north of M4 Wink )

Ah peachy, we are not going to TFOL this year as dc are too young for much of a shindig, hence the idea of a small camp is so appealing!

Fish-I will personally escort to Netmums anyone who tells dh what a MN Friday night is (I've linked him to this thread so will not say) Grin

LoopyLoopsBettyBoops · 22/06/2011 13:11

Ah, I'm north of M4 (not bloody northern though!)

Abgirl · 22/06/2011 13:16

Would be up for it but already booked elsewhere for bank holiday weekend. Maybe next year?

MisSalLaneous · 22/06/2011 13:26

I'm very excited, hopet this works out! Dh doesn't know yet, he'll probably be freaked out... It'll be nice though, you're not all nutters, are you??

Peachy, aww, wish you could come. I hear C&CC NFOL is going to be closed for bh weekend, so you might as well. Wink Same applies to all you others going away. Mass closures over bh, it's the oddest thing.

Peachy · 22/06/2011 14:56

Ah not been to NFOL before, going for a reccy but DH is in his last eyar of training to be a lighting designer so might be fun next year LMAO Wink

Next year woudl definitely like to do something, too many people on this thread I would like to meet.

ROFL at Friday night.... er ahem.

needanewname · 22/06/2011 17:06

I'd love to but we're already away that weekend. Please keep me informed for your next one though

SlubberOnlyInATentCapacity · 22/06/2011 18:40

How lovely does this sound? What a kind offer NettleTea. Sadly we are away on the epic trip so cannot make it, what a shame. I'm sure those that go will have a fab time.

FranticBanana · 22/06/2011 19:46

I'm another one who would love to come but is already booked up for this summer. It sounds fantastic.
