A 2-man tent ALL for me (prob a jack wolfskin) and any old thing for the children to go in with DH. [heaven]

AitchTwoOh · 16/05/2011 10:19

nevah coooook inside tents.

FlingonTheValiant · 16/05/2011 11:49

Ahahahaha at Alan - he live up to his name bless him! The random geordie is hilarious.

The horror of that though! (I admit, I watched it thinking "I wonder if insurance will cover it" Blush I had an alan moment)

Snigger at flame retardent Dame-puppet.

Slubberdegullion · 16/05/2011 11:50

It's a serious message Aitch
[serious face]

That video is a rich seam indeed of camping tips. Am amazed that a child of Alan's age should be concerned about holiday insurance.

Insurance x-post

Well, he's called Alan (nuff said). Obviously he was going to be sensible from birth.

Just realised the "random" geordie is possibly the site manager, which explains why he's getting into it.

Slubberdegullion · 16/05/2011 11:56

yy there is some walkie talkie action in the background

Nikkid21 · 16/05/2011 13:27

I'd have a wolf lake 7 and an acre of field to dry it in.

Needanewname · 16/05/2011 16:51

Ooh I really liked the wolflake 7 too - I was still trying to figure out how to get DH to OK a £1K tent but then realised it would still take us an hour to put up so it would be a def no no. (The only way I got him to change tents was to get one that went up in 20 mins!)

Lovecat · 16/05/2011 19:09

I have my dream, money-no-object tent (5m Soulpad hybrid bell), I just need a limitless source of disposable pop-ups for DH and DD so that I can wallow in solitary splendour and get a good night's sleep without accompanying snoring/sleep talking/farting... (DH is fine with putting pop-ups up, less so (think Homer Simpson "Angry Dad") with taking them down, so we would be end up strewing a whole load of 'up' pop-ups in our wake as we travelled...)

PH (love your new name, btw, was very confused by that FB post but it all made sense when I went back into MN!), it's good to hear that about the 1/4 inners, I've just bought one to stow stuff/DD in to keep the place a bit tidier.

Can I ask what you hang your Ikea doo-dah from? The central pole? I have one that I bought for DD's room that never got used, so am thinking of using it as tent storage now that you've mentioned it, but am a bit thick when it comes to the positioning... :)

FranticBanana · 16/05/2011 19:22

A nice big bell tent for me too please! Though as I've already got a Kampa Filey 6, a Vango Aspen 700, 5 (!) Quechua pop-ups and an ancient Vango 4-man I would need to put some of the unlimited money towards more storage.

And a stylist to do all that twiddly stuff with rugs and throws and cushions, because if I tried to do that it would look like an explosion in Ikea Marketplace.

And someone to do toddler watch while I pitch.

FranticBanana · 16/05/2011 19:24

X post with Lovecat - think I could be your source of disposable pop-ups.

MarshaBrady · 16/05/2011 19:27

De waard. I haven't camped for twenty years but I might with a de waard
