I think mine is pretty ambitious. And I've got a Bongo too!

FlingonTheValiant · 15/05/2011 18:02

Fast forward 15 years and I think I'm going to get a bell tent in the garden to move teenage DS into! They look so lovely! Not sure they're a site-to-site type tent though :(

Seeker, we have camped with friends who have the tent tipi. Splendid tent, so so strong and comfortable. If I was of the bell persuasion that is the one I would go for.

Super Envy that you have that and a Bongo.

The Sydney Opera house trailer tent is bonkers. I believe it comes with under floor heating.

FlingonTheValiant · 15/05/2011 19:14

lifeistooshort if you really want a bell tent and can have it delivered in France here seem to have them for a good price (this is where I was redirected to from Obelink.nl.

lifeistooshort · 15/05/2011 20:00

Flingon Oh my god, I cannot believe how much cheaper they are in Euros! Still don't know what to do...love the emperor but am thinking that perhaps a 5m bell tent would be more reasonable pricewise and easier to use.

PrinceHumperdink thank you also for the information re storage and mess. And also about the pods

I did like the holtcamper but it would be a wee small. The one belovecunt linked to is so fab...(but oh so expensive)

slubber arf @ underfloor heating. honestly if money was no object and i was an insanio camper with a sidney opera house obsession that would be the tent for me.

Needanewname · 15/05/2011 22:51

Ripeberry - we used to have a hartford XXL and a few people would want to have a look around - never bothered us, we always thought it was quite funny and loved the opportunity to chat with new people!

Slubberdegullion · 16/05/2011 08:09

BC I would be too afraid to leave it alone on the site. Someone would always have to remain chez SOH to ward off tent stealers.

As a complete aside I have found a new tent fire video for your amusement consideration

It is very serious and not at all funny in any way.
[serious face]

Slubberdegullion · 16/05/2011 08:11

Shit

Link fail.

Ok that is NOT the 5th Prittlewell Scouts doing The Rite of Spring

Hang on

Slubberdegullion · 16/05/2011 08:13

OK link safe to use

FlingonTheValiant · 16/05/2011 09:45

Arf at that link. Love the scoutmaster who doesn't know what number comes after 10.

BUT OMG I can't believe he told the scouts to get in their sleeping bags!

BelovedCunt · 16/05/2011 09:49

snigger at tent, it is the voiceovers that make these things so special.

i would have a life size dame kiri te kanawa puppet in the door way with puccini blaring out to ward off potential soh thieves.

Slubberdegullion · 16/05/2011 09:53

I KNOW Shock

My favourite bit is at the end

"how long did it take to burn? 24 seconds" [hooray]
"no 74... 84' 84 seconds" [crestfallen]

Flingon, have you seen The Original and Best Tent Fire: Alan & His Dad?

Slubberdegullion · 16/05/2011 09:55

[doh]

Just got Dame Kiri/opera reference.

Was think who the fuck has a Kiri te Kanawa puppet you freak.

BelovedCunt · 16/05/2011 09:58

if you are the sort of lunatic who spends 30k on a tent i imagine commissioning a dame kiri te kanawa puppet would be all in a days work really.

BelovedCunt · 16/05/2011 09:59

i love alan and his dad.

Slubberdegullion · 16/05/2011 10:01

lol

30k?

Bloody hell.

Slubberdegullion · 16/05/2011 10:05
for anyone who hasn't seen it.

Sorry for pyro hijack lifeistooshort

BelovedCunt · 16/05/2011 10:05

it would be a flame retardant puppet obviously

Slubberdegullion · 16/05/2011 10:07

Obviously

And would pack flat into a little cubbyhole hole in the teak decking

BelovedCunt · 16/05/2011 10:08

giggling helpless at alan and his dad and the geordie
