Anyone else on this plan?
I've signed up, seems so complicated!!

OP posts:

I haven't hit my calories since I started, but I finally managed to hit my fibre & protein today - got my first gold medal.

It's weird cos I was obviously eating more than my allowance (1900 too) before, but now I'm thinking about what I eat and not eating crap I can't physically get the food in me!

I'm never hungry and I'm eating whatever I like - had a massive slice of choc cake the other day and was still well within my calories. I'm also doing 16:8 which is also helping the weight loss.

MyLifeNow20 · 19/02/2021 10:14

Anyone else still doing this and succeeding? I'm tempted to join....

MotherForker · 19/02/2021 11:06

Me! I've lost 4lbs now in two weeks. I feel better too.

sobercurious2021 · 19/02/2021 11:42

This sounds interesting but I can't see much about it without signing up for a year. I wonder how they work out your daily calories.
So do you walk 10000 steps every day or five days a week?
Thanks

The work out your calories as well as protein and fibre targets. You have to aim to meet this e(mine is 119g protein and 30g fibre.)

The steps is averaged over a week. I do 15000 a day which is 105,000 a week. Some people do more in the week days and rest more on weekends.

Then there are weight training/resistance sessions, 3 or 6 times a week. They aren't complicated-push ups, squats with weights, lunges, barbell curls. There is an option if you can't exercise and they do sit down exercises on the fb group.

I also run, but that doesn't count apart from steps it's the weights/resistance that leads to fat loss.

I like it, you log via mfp but it links to their app which has the other bits like protein etc. Also have to drink at least 1600 water a day.

I imagine they calculate it using TDEE and a deficit.

Angbunnyboo · 19/02/2021 15:28

I've lost 4lb this week on 1900 cals a day.

I'm getting more into the program now and making sure I understand everything. They have loads of videos and FAQ's and the online coaches are absolutely brilliant if I have questions. The other thing is that the FB group is really helpful.

I've got my head around nutrient dense food now and they have loads of examples of what you can eat to hit your macros.

Although he's not on TeamRH, my OH has been eating the same as me with bigger portions and he's lost 5lb this week so he's chuffed.

All in all I find it easy to follow, well supported and effective.

MotherForker · 19/02/2021 17:57

I'm in 1900 calories too!

MyLifeNow20 · 19/02/2021 17:57

Thanks! It's just being signed up to a year that puts me off! Wish there was a way I could work out macros on my own. I do quite like Richie though

MotherForker · 19/02/2021 19:12

There is an offer at the moment for no sign up fee.

Angbunnyboo · 19/02/2021 20:24

They do a monthly package too I think?

MyLifeNow20 · 20/02/2021 09:36

You still have to sign up to 12 months even if you pay monthly...

MotherForker · 20/02/2021 09:43

I think it's to protect them financially. They give a lot away for free. But other you could just pay for one month and get the info and leave.

Angbunnyboo · 20/02/2021 13:03

Lost another 2lbs - thats 6lbs total this week, very chuffed!

The weighing of all the food is getting easier, and Im shocked by what a portion size actually is - I was way over eating.

Still struggling to hit my protein and fibre but getting there. Really loving the program and feel very in control for once in my life!

JengaNonConfirming · 20/02/2021 13:36

I'm nearing the end of week 3. I'm still not hitting all my different macros - I manage different ones daily! I've yet to eat all my calories, but I'm getting cliser/better. I'm really enjoying it and and have lost nearly a stone (I'm very fat!)
Big thing for me is getting 10000 steps in every day, I was barely doing 2 or 3000 before, so feel so much better for it.

2chooze · 20/02/2021 18:41

I have lost 2 stone on 1800 calories with team RH. I now have just got half a stone left to go and I am still losing on 1800 cals. I really rate the plan, I think, once you are used to it all, it is really easy to maintain long term, and the exercise has helped me keep sane during lockdown.

Angbunnyboo · 21/02/2021 20:52

I'm going to have to start planning what I'm going to eat every day, I saw a video from Rachel about this today. I didn't hit any macros today as I sort of logged as I went along.

I just feel a bit annoyed about today. I'm trying to eat nutrient dense food, but some of my meals are coming out at around 700 calories as I'm trying to get protein and fibre in (yoghurt with nuts and seeds and fruit) but I'm still not achieving it. I think I'm going to have to start planning dinner and work backwards.

MotherForker · 21/02/2021 21:11

I think it takes a while to get the hang of the macros. How many calories are on? I got a gold today for the first time! I often struggle to hit fibre and protein.

I do plan stuff a bit and will always enter the meal before I eat it or even start preparing it, so I can tweak if necessary.

Angbunnyboo · 21/02/2021 21:29

I'm on 1900 MotherForker. I'm losing but worried about my nutrients.

I'm a good cook, and usually use loads of beans and pulses as I cook lots of Middle Eastern food, but for some reason since I've started Team RH I've been cooking loads of British food. It's tasty but woefully short on my macros.

I've managed to hit my macros twice, and my fibre macro once in addition. I just don't know what to eat at the moment - help!

ArosAdraDrosDolig · 21/02/2021 21:40

I deleted their fb page this week because of his offensive rants, but reading this I’m tempted.

MotherForker · 21/02/2021 21:43

I'm on 1900 too. Keep cooking the beans, they are good! I've been eating chicken with avocado in wholemeal wrap for lunch, omelettes. We eat quite a lot of veggie stuff, because my dd is veggie. So bolognaise with veggie mince and courgetti instead of pasta. The veggie stuff tends to be really high in protein and fibre.

MotherForker · 21/02/2021 21:44

I've also had those high protein yogurts to make sure I get enough protein for my calories 😂

Angbunnyboo · 22/02/2021 17:05

OMG MotherForker - I tried to do one of the GRHAFTs this afternoon and it nearly killed me. I only have one barbell and its a bit too heavy so I usually just stick to my dumbbells. I feel great but it knocked me for six!

Have you been doing RH workouts? I usually do my own weights and some yoga, and do my couch to 5K but want to step it up a gear now.

MotherForker · 22/02/2021 19:14

I do the grhaft workouts but I use dumbells for all the exercises as I don't have a barbell.

TheABC · 22/02/2021 19:24

Another one on RH and I've lost 4lb since January. That does not sound like a lot but my entire body shape has shifted.

TBH, I don't spend a lot of time on Richie's videos, as soon as I got my head around the targets and foods. I tend to hang out in the comments and shamelessly try out other people's ideas. The in-app support from the coaches is excellent, too.

Off to get my steps in!
