WoahThreeAces · 07/09/2025 16:31

Being short. Being flat chested (I got relentlessly teased for "not going through puberty" cos I had no boobs and I was super skinny, so no womanly shape at all)
Music taste

All girls secondary school

Smidge001 · 07/09/2025 16:36

Being square. And being crap at PE.

RaraRachael · 07/09/2025 16:36

Wearing glasses and being clever.

"Speccy 4 eyed swot" etc

Primary school was bearable but HATED high school. Unfortunately in the 70s you were told to just get on with it.

Ontherocksthisyear · 07/09/2025 16:38

Having thick curly red hair and shy. They used to say really cruel things. As soon as I could I dyed and straightened my hair. Only now at 33 am I finally embracing it.

CeciliaDuckiePond · 07/09/2025 16:38

Everything. Even just behaving like or wearing the same things as everyone else, because it was me I was ridiculed or worse. I couldn't walk down a corridor without getting hit or name-called. I wrote in my diary once that it had been a good day because 'only two people had hit me'.

Lifelover16 · 07/09/2025 16:44

Being clever and studious
Big frizzy hair
Big nose
Big bust

HoneyButterPopcorn · 07/09/2025 16:46

Being quiet/shy, having a gay sibling (well bullied for that), having a stupid name (thanks mum).

knittings · 07/09/2025 16:47

Primary - everything.
High school - everything.

Pupils and teachers bullied me.
I still shudder sometimes walking past schools.

KelsCommemorativeSausage · 07/09/2025 17:02

@Ashipcalleddignity my mother also wouldn't buy sanitary towels, and didn't believe in period pains because she never had them. I got a job for the same reason as you! Solidarity. Was bloody awful. ♥️

Henry8thHoover · 07/09/2025 17:05

Being poor, not having fashionable clothes and being from a farming family.
People who say school is the best days of your life were never bullied.

Anotherename · 07/09/2025 17:06

For being a bit odd and fat

I was a bit odd - mums a bit odd and used to dress us in bizarre ways, an odd mix of baby and old fashioned.

wasn’t really fat - solid is a good word lol

harry Potter for a while - odd haircut (tbf I could see why that one arrived)

it was never really bad though- teasing more than anything and I had a solid friend group so never felt isolated.

MiddlingMarch · 07/09/2025 17:30

Changed school towards the end of primary. My surname, wearing glasses.

Secondary: wearing glasses, not being pretty, not being sporty, being friends with uncool people, being uncool, the way I walked, being frigid, being childish and generally being weird.

I had good friends who were similarly made fun of, we protected each other.

Cherrycola4 · 07/09/2025 17:50

I wasn’t bullied because my dad taught me how to fight like an absolute psychopath in case anyone ever picked on me.

Readyforslippers · 07/09/2025 17:52

Pretty much everything about me.

Whereareyourshoes · 07/09/2025 18:07

Another tall, skinny, ginger with glasses here.

But it was the blushing or 'taking a pure beamer' that people focused on.

I still hear them if I choose to think about it. But have better things and people to focus on now.

Mikart · 07/09/2025 18:08

Tall and geeky

hideawayforever · 07/09/2025 18:18

hideawayforever · 07/09/2025 18:25

Nirsery · 07/09/2025 16:07

Being ginger and my dad dying

Kids can be so fkn horrible.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 07/09/2025 18:38

I think this thread just goes to show that kids that want to bully will bully. They will pick on ANYTHING different just to make someone a target.

I do have to say that, despite bullies' best attempts to pick on me, I had a fabulous and tight group of friends. We were the outsiders, the weird girls, the ones who didn't quite fit in, and we were ALL targets, but because we stuck together we supported each other and the bullies didn't have the effect on us that they wanted. But, oh, how they tried...

MuddlingThroughLife · 07/09/2025 21:50

Being short (5' 1").
Having small feet (size 2).
Having blonde hair and blue eyes.
No boob's.
Being a virgin.
Using pads instead of tampons.
Speaking "posh".
Being "posh".
Not having the latest fashions.
Enjoying reading for pleasure.
Teenage spots.
Glasses (so I stopped wearing them at school).
Not mitching.
Listening to teachers and following rules.

I detested school.

GoldWhiteandBlue · 07/09/2025 21:58

Paper boy spread a rumour that I sunbathed topless. Had boys jeering at me on the bus. I was 13. I began walking home then. I honestly think that was the start of my life long anxiety.

coxesorangepippin · 07/09/2025 22:03

Being overweight

Being clever

lydialucy · 07/09/2025 22:03

For having scars on my face.
