My big nose

OP posts:
Nevertrustacop · 07/09/2025 14:44

Being too thin, being stuck up and my surname. Not bullying exactly as I didn't really care, so no one persisted long, but arsey nevertheless

menopausalfart · 07/09/2025 14:45

My weight. I was too thin, according to most.

Fionasapples · 07/09/2025 14:45

@buffyfaithfredwesley
Your hair was lovely. There's nothing more beautiful than red curls, in my opinion!

CharlotteFlax · 07/09/2025 14:47

Being pale.

"Ya mam's been up and down more times than CharlotteFlax's flannel" was one I particularly remember from 34 years ago.

Blueuggboots · 07/09/2025 14:52

Looking like a boy. There was a girl at the school who had hair like mine (short) but because she had big boobs, they all loved her!!

Joolsin · 07/09/2025 14:54

Being too thin - "My Mum says your Mum's terrible for letting you be anorexic". I wasn't, just very slightly built and a late maturer.

naiveandrestles · 07/09/2025 14:57

Ginger hair (do the curtains match the carpet? etc). Its faded to a mousey brown now. As an adult Id love to be ginger again!

The way I say my name. Apparently I used to sing it. 🤷

Being posh. Im not, I just have a neutral accent. My daughter also gets teased for being posh so has purposely started to talk like her friends do eg instead of saying "something" she'll say "summit". Drives me mad!

Going to church. I was quite obnoxious about it when I was younger so I get that one.

tinytemper66 · 07/09/2025 14:59

Nothing. Was lucky enough not to experience that.

101Alsatians · 07/09/2025 15:02

Being the shortest out of around 160 girls in my year (yes,I know this because for the giant school photo they lined us up by height order).

Someone has to be the shortest don't they?So that one didn't bother me too much. I didn't grow much either 😅Stopped at 5ft.

Other reason was because I am very blonde and very fair.Vampire jokes galore.

Moved to a Med island 15 years ago, have still never got a hint of a tan.

Financialthymes · 07/09/2025 15:03

My teeth and general appearance, and after my teeth were fixed, my taste in music and being a ‘greebo’. Ahh those were the days. Tbh I wore it like a badge of honour - I didn’t want to listen to dance music or whatever shite the other kids were listening to. I now have great teeth and I still listen to the same kind of music. I never let anyone change me!

smallsilvercloud · 07/09/2025 15:04

Just for being nice and on the quieter side, I was teased for being a boffin , I wasn’t even that academic. and people were generally very mean to me, especially ones that I thought was my friends turned against me. So glad those days are behind me.

buffyfaithfredwesley · 07/09/2025 14:26

AlanJohnsonsBeemer · 07/09/2025 15:11

Being ugly
First and last names
Not having the right clothes
Always putting my hand up

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 07/09/2025 15:13

Literally every aspect of who I was

Wiltedgeranium · 07/09/2025 15:15

Being ugly
Being tall
Wearing glasses
Having the wrong clothes
Being a swot
Crying (pretty girls were allowed to cry, as they were 'sensitive')
Not fancying boys at 11
Being weird
Having opinions
Being frigid

Petered out by yr10. Largely because by that point I owned my weirdness and had found similarly weird friends.

TheGetAlongGang · 07/09/2025 15:15

My parents own their house
I lived with my grandad
My unfashionable clothes
My greasy hair (even though I washed it but it just went limp and greasy again)
Spots
The fact I'm hopeless at sports
Dyslexia
The fact I'm ace at cooking/baking/textiles/sewing
I didn't fit in with the cool kids
My name/looks

School was a blast

Same! Still very conscious of my height because of it.

Mutability · 07/09/2025 15:15

Nothing. Maybe I got off lightly.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 07/09/2025 15:17

Being slim. Being clever. Being well-spoken ('posh'). Twats.

KpopDemon · 07/09/2025 15:17

Many things, including some that were ludicrous. I remember being mocked by my so-called friends for having long slender legs! Lol my best asset.

The bitches who made my life hell for years - wherever they are I hope they rot.

NomoneyNoprospects · 07/09/2025 15:19

Primary school was the worst for me, because I was sent to a weird little school and several teachers seemed to be nuts, they criticised me relentlessly for being shy. Not disruptive, or naughty, or lazy, but too quiet in class. My parents kept all my school reports and I read them recently, it made me so sad to read how many overlooked the fact I worked hard, was good at sport and had lots of friends, they just really obviously disliked me just for being a quiet child. That school has since gone bankrupt, thank god.

Secondary - my head was too big. Being frigid, because I'd have rather cut my arm off than started doing stuff with the boys at my school. Having a weekend job.

TheGetAlongGang · 07/09/2025 15:19

Oh and I had a flat stomach but a bit of a bump at the bottom

Bullied badly for that

Blingismything · 07/09/2025 15:19

My face

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 07/09/2025 15:20

My accent. Apparently it was "too posh"

I was also bullied for not liking pop music. I still don't and I'm 69.

I was bullied for "being a swot" because I was generally top of the class.

I think back to it, and it was ghastly. I hated school. It turned out that I had undiagnosed autism, which explained a lot.

MrsEmmelinePankhurst · 07/09/2025 15:22

This was in the 1980s. Like OP I was also taunted about my big nose. Not just at school - at uni too.

Being Jewish. (I’m not but some of my grandparents are). Assumptions were made because of my nose 🤦‍♀️ I still struggle to type that out actually. The anti-Semitism there is so awful on many levels.

Being adopted - they called me “secondhand.”

And for generally being a bit different and just not really fitting in. Turns out I’m autistic.
