My surname, which just so happened to be the same as a much-disliked television character.

The only thing was, I didn't know about the programme at all as we didn't watch it, so I didn't understand what it was all about and thought everyone hated me. I told a teacher that people were calling me nasty names, and the teacher laughed. I was about 5 or 6 at the time. I thought the teacher hated me too.

BlueAndYellowPurplePills · 05/04/2019 17:57

Rainbowknickers · 05/04/2019 18:03

I got called a crumpet relentlessly. A fucking crumpet?

For being good at netball.

For being fat.

This was all aged 9-12 and I truly believed I was fat and have done ever since even though it’s quite clear looking at old photos I was a straight up and down healthy girl.

For having big feet. I used to buy shoes a size too small so they wouldn’t tease me and now I have the most horrendous bunions.

For being in the top reading class.

For running fast.

Our school was shit at dealing with bullying. My time at primary school was so unhappy!

For being a scholarship student.
For being clever.
For having big boobs.
For being good at sports.
For having long legs.
For having the same boyfriend for 5 years.
For playing the saxophone and not a 'cool' instrument.

🤷🏻‍♀️

MotherOfTheNoise · 05/04/2019 18:49

Oh, and for my DM being in a wheelchair, because obviously I have control over that 🙄

Northumberlandlass · 05/04/2019 18:50

Being tall
Having an unusual name
Having a birthmark on my face

Redcrayons · 05/04/2019 18:51

Being tall and skinny.

Dhalandchips · 05/04/2019 18:54

I was perceived to be posh as I had moved north from the south. "Daddy drop you off in the rolls Royce this morning?" Er no, he had a Morris traveller with rotten wood! Definitely not posh! Also because I could speak French!

LittleAndOften · 05/04/2019 19:26

I was bullied by my ballet teacher for being tall. She would tell me off for having long legs, she would never acknowledge me in class (I can even remember making deliberate mistakes to get her attention), and she excluded me from group dances in local competitions because I didn't match the height of the others. I hated my height for years and years (I'm 5'9").

Hoppinggreen · 05/04/2019 19:32

My Mum was posh

gggrrrargh · 05/04/2019 19:40

For having big boobs

For how I said the number 4

Bigearringsbigsmile · 05/04/2019 19:40

being tall.
my name.
my build.
my clothes.
being rubbish at sport.
being rubbish at maths.
just being me.

Drogosnextwife · 05/04/2019 19:46

I got bullied pretty badly but the thing that stand out the most for being absolutely ridiculous was the girls for months whispered behind my back and kept saying "I can't believe you did that", in hindsight I had done nothing but as a 12 year old I was a paranoid wreck, they got other people to join in aswell.

Drogosnextwife · 05/04/2019 19:50

Same here Littleandoften I'm nearly 5'10 and have terrible back trouble now from slouching to try and shrink myself. I used to sleep with my legs curled up tight every night incase stretching out would encourage my legs to grow.

slipperywhensparticus · 05/04/2019 19:52

Being a lesbian I'm actually straight

oldsilver · 05/04/2019 19:55

For having glasses (NHS pink vile ones at that), for having strict parents who wouldn't allow me to have fashionable clothes but the worse out of all of it was that I had the temerity to grow boobs and need to wear a bra before all the cool girls did. Blow me did that not go down well.

MigThePig · 05/04/2019 20:07

Having the wrong shoes, the wrong skirt, wearing glasses, having no clue about fashion, having shit hair, living in a terraced house, not having fancy foreign holidays etc.
I hated school.

Hoppinggreen · 05/04/2019 20:12

We had a certain car, another girl in my years family had the same car.
Apparently we didn’t have a car at all and I was pretending her car was ours
That’s actually sounds funny but it really wasn’t - I was a “lying cow”

redexpat · 05/04/2019 20:13

For being gay. Im not. although Rachel Weizs in the favourite nearly turned me

Malope · 05/04/2019 20:15

For being tall, having the wrong accent, wearing straight leg trousers (in bootleg era), for not understanding sexual innuendo, for eating meat in my sandwiches, for having my ponytail low, for being quiet, for saying anything, for trying out a new trend, for cycling to school, for reading a lot...

It stopped when I moved to a college after GCSEs.

Wellshit · 05/04/2019 20:17

Have a mole right dead centre of my forehead. I'm sure you can guess what I was called at school. Some adults are also arseholes. Thankfully I now love it and accept it, instead of wanting to slice it off my head.

Girlwhowearsglasses · 05/04/2019 20:25

For being tiny, skinny and no breasts - (very late puberty -affected me psychologically ever since).

For eating cheese other than cheddar Hmm

Because my parents had ‘dinner parties’. Apparently their parents didn’t have friends round for dinner —because they had so many issues and no friends—

Because I had skinny legs and my tights had wrinkles I was called Nora Batty.

So many things.

babyontheway94 · 05/04/2019 20:25

I got bullied at work in my first pregnancy.... because I had hyperemesis. Hmm accused of faking my own pregnancy, faking the sickness and everything!

I no longer work there...I hope one day they experience what I did and think of me!

Pinkarsedfly · 05/04/2019 20:26

Being ginger.
Being posh - my parents both worked in factories and we lived in a council house.
My surname.
Being gay - I’m not.
Having spots.
