My gums were too big and my voice too quiet.
My coat was purple.
My mum had cancer

Kids can be vile.

boringlyboring · 05/04/2019 15:05

For being foreign

KatesMott · 05/04/2019 15:06

Being a ‘snob’ and ‘posh’- I lived on a council estate and was brought up by my single mum, didn’t have a pot to piss in but I did like to read so was also a ‘swot’

whatawolly · 05/04/2019 15:08

Being 'pretty'. Girls hated me because the guys they had a crush on 'liked' me. I'm now in my 20's and I meet lots of women who still see me as some sort of threat to them. It's very hard to find real friends who take the time to get to know me instead of assuming I'm some sort of stuck up bitch Confused

ooItsAoBeautifulDayNow · 05/04/2019 15:34

For being adopted. I'm sure the perpetrators are actually nice people know they've grown up but my god kids can be cunts when they egg each other on. Can't imagine making fun of kids who have been plucked out of horrid situations and adopted. Weird weird weird.

Luckily our parents taught us some good comebacks. My favourite was "well our parents chose us, so if anything we were more wanted!" Often followed by a hair flip. Of course inside I wanted to cry but learned the fake it til you make it method pays off in some ways. Definitely given me imposter syndrome though that time of my life!

My brothers fave response was a punch - not advocating of course but it seemed the only way to make himself safe in a school that refused to help with any bullying at all.

elaine26 · 05/04/2019 15:37

I got bullied a bit for being thin, was called anorexic and they'd seen more meat on a bean pole. My DD gets this now even though most of the girls in her class are exactly the same as her

ooItsAoBeautifulDayNow · 05/04/2019 15:39

@whatawolly I have been guilty of assuming people must be arrogant when they are stunning - I'd never have been mean to them or behind their back but it's a snap judgement I only realised I made recently. I became a bit of a mentor / surrogate big sister to my friends daughter.

She is honestly the most beautiful looking person I have ever met. Stopped in the street by scouts, head turning, asking who represents her etc. She is also extremely shy, a diligent student and was incredible when she did work experience for me.

She said that girls don't want to be friends with her because they think she'll steal their boyfriend. She's had the same lovely boyfriend for 5 years and she's only 20! I have seen myself actual arguments start because a guy has glanced in her direction.

I feel truly bad for assuming life is made for beautiful people. Of course it makes many elements easier, but lots of them tougher too.

So to @whatawolly and similar women I'm sorry and I've learned from it!

lorisparkle · 05/04/2019 15:43

For being thin. I was bullied far more than the children who were over weight.

For knowing the answers to the teachers questions (I stopped putting my hand up after that)

And because my 'best friend' decided she wasn't my friend any more and told everyone else to ignore me.

AmmarettoSours · 05/04/2019 15:43

I existed Hmm
i honestly dont know what started it but throughout primary and also highschool i was bullied by a large group of both girls and boys, got beat up daily and then went home to the same sh*t Angry

Pyjamaface · 05/04/2019 15:44

For living on X Road.

Except I didn't Confused I had to walk along X Road to get home from school but so did everybody else seeing as the school was in the middle of X Road.

Also for being a slag and getting caught behind the bike sheds with a boy. Except I didn't, the school didn't even have bike sheds.

Bullies are not the smartest bunch I realised

Angeladelight · 05/04/2019 15:47

Confused in childhood friend that I was sexually abused my a distant relative. She told everyone and the info got skewed and I constantly got asked if I liked fucking my uncle, often called a slut/slag blah blah. This was when I was about 11/12 I think. But at that age I doubt you have the emotional capacity to understand how awful that is.

ohtheholidays · 05/04/2019 15:47

Like a PP poster because the cute guys the other girls liked would follow me around(I went to an all girls school but it was a sodding nightmare when I was allowed of grounds at lunch time)or would randomly turn up at my house.

None of them had a clue that I hated the attention(I still do and I'm in my 40's now)and that I had so much awful stuff going on through no fault of my own,but no I was a bitch because the lads fancied me.

I still also get alot of women treating me badly because of it but I no longer give a shit, everyone that knows me knows I'm only interested in my DH and that I'd never have started anyting with anyone that was in a relationship even when I was a child.

brynandnessa · 05/04/2019 15:49

me too girl! now the girls that laughed at my big lips have paid to have filler in theirs hahahah

brynandnessa · 05/04/2019 15:50

prettywhiteguitar · 05/04/2019 15:52

Angeladelight · 05/04/2019 15:52

Sorry! Should read “confided in childhood friend” Blush

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 05/04/2019 15:54

Because I fancied a boy on the bus and naively got a friend to pass him a note. For about 2 years I got mercilessly bullied by him and his mates. It was a horrible time ConfusedSad

LittleAndOften · 05/04/2019 15:54

For not having a strong regional accent. My parents didn't, so neither did I. I put it on a bit stronger at school (big local comp) as I was called posh and singled out. At university a girl in my halls took it to another level and accused me of being born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I think because I was articulate, but can't be sure. She had a vendetta (based on no knowledge of me) and made my life a misery until I had to ask to be relocated.

In case you're wondering, my parents were teachers from working class backgrounds, who both benefited from the grammar school system. I grew up in a 3 bed semi, where they still live. I'm not sure which part of this qualified as the silver spoon, but psycho chip-on-the-shoulder girl never bothered to find out. Think she just hated me on sight.

Bluelonerose · 05/04/2019 15:55

Where to start?
For being flat chested
For not washing (Even though I did)
For not shaving under my arms (didn't even know you were supposed to until I was bullied for it)
For not cleaning my teeth (I did)
For asking a question if I didn't understand something.
Basically anything they could say they did.

All of these would be said within earshot of teachers but none of them ever backed me up.

Inthehatbox · 05/04/2019 15:55

By my in-laws for “talking posh”.

I’m from Norfolk 😕

(They’re from Birkenhead.)

Shortandsweet96 · 05/04/2019 15:56

I once got a lot of stick from a group of girls who insisted "I have everything handed to me on a plate"

My parents were poor, couldn't even afford to buy me a magazine when we went shopping. I never owned anything branded. I have no idea where it came from.

Also got relentlessly groped, I was known for having a very large bust very early on. Size E at 14/15, it was the worst time of my life, one boy even threatened to rape me on my way home (he knew I walked home).

HellAndDegenerates · 05/04/2019 15:56

Having the 'Wrong' Back pack brand.
Having greasy hair (I'd washed it that morning)
Tripping in the play ground
And so many more I can't remember.

One boy in secondary school got beaten up because he wore trainers from shoezone.

Niffler25 · 05/04/2019 15:57

For being tall and thin and having small boobs. The boys were worse than the girls most of the time!

KismetJayn · 05/04/2019 15:58

Because I once stroked a cat on the pavement two streets away from school.

Sarcelle · 05/04/2019 16:01

For having nice hair.
