Schmauskin · 16/10/2009 20:09

Just sharing the fact that it has really helped one of my twins sore tummy - I thought it was ggod to share tips but mumsnet seems to have removed my post???!!! Very vexed at this, as it does not seem in the spirit of the site. Sorry I bothered to write considering the limited time I have available whilst caring for my 13 week old twins and 5 year old.....

To be honest when I read your post I wondered how long it would last.

Schmauskin · 16/10/2009 20:23

Why?

OP posts:
TrinityHasAVampireRhino · 16/10/2009 20:23

post it again
I'm intrigued

StealthPolarBear · 16/10/2009 20:24

it sounded like a marketing thread - especially the nutrition info line.

Lulumama · 16/10/2009 20:24

maybe someone thoguht it was an advert? can't say for sure as not seen your post

cory · 16/10/2009 20:25

If you do not want your post to read like all the other posters who get paid to advertise certain goods, it would be better not to word it like one of the posts written by those posters who get paid to advertise certain goods. Seeing that Mumsnet has rather strict rules on advertising. Not to mention that advertising formula for young babies is illegal in the UK. It is so easy to mistake a genuinely helpful post for an illegal advertisement if it looks exactly like an illegal advertisement, you see.

Schmauskin · 16/10/2009 20:25

My boy twin has been waking after his 3am feed and screaming, griping and crying until 6am. HV recommended a low lactose formula so tried C & G Comfort First - it worked like a dream and my little boy slept beautifully i thought I would share this but mumsnet removed my post - WTF ?

OP posts:
CharCharGabor · 16/10/2009 20:26

What cory said.

Schmauskin · 16/10/2009 20:27

Oh FFS sake it wasn't fricking marketing! I'm a very tired mum who had a baby in pain and I did something that worked and thought I'd share.

Lulumama · 16/10/2009 20:28

MNHQ are usually quite circumspect aboput remoivng posts, so it must have been v v simialr to an advert

SCARYspicemonster · 16/10/2009 20:29

It read like marketing though. And you should know by now that posts recommending any brand of formula are viewed very dimly on MN (quite rightly IMO). Sorry if you feel you've been unfairly victimised

llaregguBOO · 16/10/2009 20:29

I think this one will go the same way.

Schmauskin · 16/10/2009 20:30

I feel REALLY horrible now as if my whole character is being called into question. We were so chuffed that the sodding formula changed did the trick we thought we'd pass it on.

OP posts:
Schmauskin · 16/10/2009 20:32

What total bollocks. So you can recommend toys, nappies, buggies, books etc etc. but not fricking powdered milk. LUDICROUS. I was such a fan of mumsnet until now.

Ok calm down a wee bit! Everybody has explained why it was probably deleted - and I expect you'll be getting an e-mail from HQ explaining that too. Nobody doubts your motives - just those of the formula manufacturers who do use advertise by stealth methods.

I think it's great your son is so much more settled - must be a great relief for you. Well done for seeking advice and finding something worked

TrinityHasAVampireRhino · 16/10/2009 20:33

I can see why they removed it

illegal to advertise formula and that is a great advert

Schmauskin · 16/10/2009 20:34

Thank you Northernlurker.

OP posts:
Schmauskin · 16/10/2009 20:35

I WASN'T FRICKING ADVERTISING IT!!!!!

OP posts:
cory · 16/10/2009 20:36

Actually, given their advertisement rules, I think MNHQ would tend to look a bit askance at any poster who came rushing to start a new thread recommending a product. There is a special section for that kind of thread.

Lulumama · 16/10/2009 20:36

please don't worry ! i got deleted once for bieng too nice, you never can tell sometimes !!

advertising first stage baby milk is illegal

if your post potentially looked like a stealthy ad,it was right for it to be removed.

lesson learnt and move on

don't dwell on it

llaregguBOO · 16/10/2009 20:38

But still, it sounded like an advert and mumsnet probably don't want to run the risk of running what looks like an illegal advert. Can you see that? No one is casting an sorts of aspersions on your character. It is just risk management.

DuelingFANGo · 16/10/2009 20:38

it did sound like an advert to be fair, but looking at your posting history (as I did) it is clear that you have had issues with all your children and sleep so I can totally understand why it might have pissed you off to have people doubting you.

Sorry for any doubt I might have had, I did post in the other thread, but I didn't report you.

Maybe try not to get stressed about it, it's not worth it in the grand scheme of things

Schmauskin · 16/10/2009 20:39

Tell me where and I'll post it there cory - if it helps one family i'll feel better. I have been to hell and back to have my twins and have been hospitalised twice recently with a womb infection and E-coli, so I am exhausted and was so relieved that finally something helped my little boy and our family sleep.

OP posts:
GhoulsAreLoud · 16/10/2009 20:39

Have they not emailed you to tell you why they deleted?

Schmauskin · 16/10/2009 20:41

No, no explanation.
