Selling breastmilk to fetishists?

This link came up on another thread and I think warrants discussion. I am a liberal person but find this pretty horrific.

You would need milk that hadn't been homogenised - and a very guillible first time fetishist. BM tastes completely different - not something I think you could recreate with a bit of sugar.

dragonbutter · 15/03/2009 00:36

oh, it's too complicated.
doesn't sound very lucrative though.
shame.

BoffinMum · 15/03/2009 07:52

'Cmon, there must be a food technologist on MN somewhere. Are you all going to give up that easily???

solidgoldbrass · 15/03/2009 09:05

DOn't get too cocky about this. Gone are the days when a certain entrepreneur made his fortune with the 'women-and-horses' scam on the grounds that the punters would be too embarrassed to complain: a few years ago a bloke sued his local sex shop on the grounds that the porn they sold him wasn't filthy enough - and he won.
THough, OK, the risks of getting caught with this one are fairly small (would depend on one of your fetishists a)suspecting and b) having access to a lab to do an analysis)...

HecatesTwopenceworth · 15/03/2009 09:09

I don't see the problem with it. It doesn't seem, like others have said, very profitable, but it's only milk.

BoffinMum · 15/03/2009 09:10

Solidgold, you have a point, they are probably BM afficionados, so may not be easily convinced.

I am put in mind of the infamous line from Red Dwarf "The dog's milk is always the last to go".

ChairmumMiaow · 15/03/2009 09:27

I don't see the problem with her selling it. If she's got more than enough and can be bothered to take the time to pump (it clearly doesn't take her half an hour to pump 2oz!).

Obviously I'd rather she donated it, but if not, then good for her for making some money out of something she produces.

FrannyandZooey · 15/03/2009 09:32

only on MN could a thread start off with people shocked and horrified about the prospect of people selling bm to fetishists, develop into advice for interested parties on where to sell it, and end up as a plot to scam the fetishists with talcum powder and cow's milk

BoffinMum · 15/03/2009 09:35

That's the joy of MN

lalalonglegs · 15/03/2009 09:41

Ooooh, so exciting, I've got several packets in the freezer which dd2 is never going to have now - do you think the fact that it is a faintly turquoise character will put perves off?

BoffinMum · 15/03/2009 09:44

Lala that has to be a niche market.

lalalonglegs · 15/03/2009 09:51

Ching, ching

Anglepoise · 15/03/2009 10:21

My mum fed my last bit of expressed milk to her puppy (DD still utterly refuses to take a bottle, so it was going down the drain otherwise). The dog loved it. Sadly she can only pay me in Markies and Bonios.

dragonbutter · 15/03/2009 11:11

lmao at ching, ching.

well spotted F&Z, that is why we love it.

EachPeachPearMum · 15/03/2009 14:20

OMG- should have known there's be a thread about this somewhere- I accidentally found a site about this when googling last week for Hot Milk nursing bras...

£2 per 2oz.... not particularly lucrative...

NotAnOtter · 15/03/2009 21:06

hmmm might be worth it each peach!
anglepoise nooooooo
i would have disguised my nectar in food to ensue not a drop went to waste

one thing CERTAIN to cause full blown adultrums chez otter is a spilled breastpump........

Anglepoise · 15/03/2009 21:28

She's not on solids yet and it was defrosted so couldn't freeze it again. Just as long as the dog doesn't get too fond of it ...

Salma Hayek eat your heart out

NotAnOtter · 15/03/2009 21:29

i llove your pics anglepoise!

dragonbutter · 15/03/2009 21:32

what's salma hayek got to do with this?

NotAnOtter · 15/03/2009 21:38

she breastfed a hungry african baby whose mummy was sick

EachPeachPearMum · 15/03/2009 21:40

oh- you are back to your name NAO!

I used my ebm from DD's babyhood in her food- mashed sweet potato, porridge etc- she wasn't going to drink from a bottle thats for sure [grr]

dragonbutter · 15/03/2009 21:40

oh ok.

EachPeachPearMum · 15/03/2009 21:41

And there isn't going to be any milk left over this time- ds is a complete milk monster.... he is huge already- same size dd was at 12 weeks and he is 6 weeks tomorrow- eek!

Anglepoise · 16/03/2009 10:06

Thanks NOA I am very lucky to have a friend who is a great photographer. They really need updating, since DD was four weeks there and is now a chunky 24 weeks!

GetOrfMoiLand · 16/03/2009 10:14

I love the way this thread has developed!
